So today Johnnyn1 came visiting with his Lhasa apso Ruby. Beverly was cautious as usual, observing Ruby from a distance and occasionally moving in for a sniff. Ruby was calm and watching her step cos she was in a new environment. I performed the Wendy Volhard puppy aptitude test on Ruby cos she is about 7 weeks old which is the recommended age for testing a pup for her personality.

Beverly wouldn't let me spend any time alone with ruby to do the aptitude test on her, she would keep scratching the door and watching all I'm doing like a jealous wife. Anyway I completed the 10 sections of the test and was able to determine that Ruby was a perfect pup for a first time owner, she scored mostly 4 on the assessment. Meanwhile Beverly scored mostly 2, although I performed the test on her when she was already 8 months old, I used my previous knowledge of Beverly to score her, my Beverly has a challenging personality for a first time dog owner, but my taste for knowledge and my unrelenting attitude to find a solution to every problem got me through raising Beverly as the perfect pet regardless of her puppy aptitude test result.

Eventually Beverly started playing with Ruby as you can see in this video, it's the first time Beverly would play with another dog since I got her, because I don't have other dogs around, in the past she is usually reluctant to even move close to other dogs, now she is playing with one, it was a wonderful sight for me.

So today a iron welder came to our house to repair somethings, she was barking as usual because of the strange presence. So I ordered her to keep quiet which she did. When the iron welder started cutting through iron, it was so damn loud and scary, even me sef dey fear. But Beverly was just focusing intensely at the direction of the scary sound as if she wants to go and challenge who was there. Although she was low key afraid at a point, but I was very impressed with her bravery.

Thanks for sharing. It's comforting knowing it aint just a Phoebe thing. Its hilarious but who would have known dogs could be this human like.

She's going to 8months and the dog is full of gimmicks...
we sometimes think she's human. Kinda scary but, u gloat especially with visitors around cos she can hears every damn thing u say.

She knows when u r angry, happy ,sad, in pains... She practically comforts u when ur sad by sitting next to u with searching eyes and tries licking away ur sorrows... I remember pretending to be hurt one day and crying and phoebe's joined in crying...

We trained her d hard way... Strict about potty and weeing... She simply alerts u when she wants to do any of them and u follow her out. She finds it difficult opening doors cos shes small... Seeing her reach out and try to use d handle was hilarious...

I forgot to mention that she doesn't like milk but would prefer ribena or pure honey...
At 4months we noticed she'd eat anything we eat as long as she sees us put it in our mouth...

We leave d house one night and in a hurry forget stuffs we bought on a chair in d sitting room... Phoebe clears the nuts and hides d evidence under the chair. We couldn't find d nuts but then we found d culprit. She actually swallowed most in a hurry so we dont catch her in d act. Next two days her poo was still all about the nuts...

Phoebe if no one attends to her when she needs to go out and wee would do it and then look for a rag or clothe to dry it moving d rag in circular motions like she sees us do.
She got away twice then we learnt this trick of hers.

She roams free but lock the necessary doors cos she is full of surprises.
Now she tries to stay away from our stuff and only play with her numerous toys. we wish this could be a thing, but hell no...it's phoebe!!!

She loves kids. Her love for kids is abnormal. Oh and she can play all day

Which brings me to reason i created this thread... If you got a lhasa, shih tzu, eskimo or any in house dog do u see them act funny when they sleep?

Lemme explain, phoebe can play all day then sleep like she was sedated then she does this kinda bark-in-her sleep and funny sound-kinda thing which is hilarious...Same as when we were little and u play like crazy after school hours only to sleep and continue d play in your dream... Calling names and or screaming instructions like "Tee, pass me d ball"

Is this normal? Who else has a dog that does it

Also, go and get dog comb, slicker and bristle brush and start by combing her first in every part of her body, and then using slicker brush to brush her, and then using bristle brush on her.

You have to start grooming her right now from a early age so that she would get used to it as soon as possible. Also, start checking her ears and cleaning it with baby wipes/vinegar. Always check her paws, and check her mouth and teeth. Clean her eyes and groom the hair on her muzzle, you have to start doing all those things RIGHT NOW. So that she would get used to it very soon...


Always do all these things on a high table that she can't jump down from, so she won't try to escape, you can use treats for her to associate grooming with something positive. Goodluck bro.
