Politics / Re: Okorocha Denies Legalising Abortion In Imo by johpeace: 2:33pm On Sep 01, 2013
I am forced to comment on this post based on 2 reasons and eventual disastrous outcome.

A similar bill of ds terminology reared its ugly head during d past administration of Ikedi Ohakim, sponsored by Dr Obinna Ekennia frm d same Mbaise from whr ds woman comes from. And it faced a severe public outcry and later died.In fact d catholic church held a rally against it dt time....Why must it be Mbaise people sponsorin ds.Is it dt d contents are predominant der or....?I dont knw.

Now Rochas wants to dabble into ds highly complicated and controversial bill/law.Inasmuch as Rochas enjoys d gud will of d catholic church,am sorry,he is unintentionally incurring d wrath of the church.D catholic archbishop of Owerri,Dr A.J.V. Obinna in a press conference yesterday vehemently opposed ds bill and even called out to Rochas not to dare or even recind his consent.

Your excellency Sir!Dont forget so easily wht happened to Ikedi Ohakim your predecessor. Also dont forget d glaring power d church commands in makin and breakin of any administration in Imo.Pls dont start a race u cant complete.

This singular bill will be d last straw dts gona break your back very shortly.

Pls learn!!!
Religion / Re: Imo Youths Lock Out Bishop-elect by johpeace: 8:22pm On May 22, 2013
Am forced to comment on this topic because of the VERY wrong impression it portrays.
1. The topic is wrong. Not Imo youths but Ahiara Mbaise youths.
2.This issue of bishop selection has lingered since the last bishop..bishop Chikwe died. Now d late bishop Chikwe was from Ahiara Mbaise. On his demise,d othe parts of Mbaise started writing petitions upon petitions to Rome to give dem an indigenous bishop.Upon nomination of any qualified indigenous priest frm d oda parts of Mbaise,Ahiara piple will start petitioning Rome saying d bishop must come frm Ahiara and no other place. This drama continues until d Pope Emeritus nominate Monsgnr Okpaleke who was serving in Awka cathedral until his nomination.Again all the parts of Mbaise started protesting this until d new Pope insisted he must be ordained.

3.The truth is that if Mbaise pipl continue to bring in parochial politics into d church, they stand a chance of losing ds diocese to der former diocese from whr late bishop Unegbu excommunicated their priest because of sheer disobedience and stubborness. This other story is a long one too.

4.Mbaise pipl stand a chance of being bannished from d catholic church if they continue this way.

Education / Re: UNIZIK Wins Geo-sciences Competition Among African Universities by johpeace: 6:51pm On Mar 27, 2013
@oop:I want to congratulate the Department of Geosciences for making us proud.
I am a proud giant anywhere and anytime.I have and will always represent my alma mata well.

I am a proud Giant...UNIZIK my great school. You taught me self reliance, how to aim at excellence, you taught me discipline and equally endowed me with d 'Can do' spirit.I wish d you were offering the course I did for my Masters,I wld hv returned to you.

The speed and definiteness of purpose of the lecturers are commendable. Our neighbouring Fed Univ in Imo is a direct opposite;waisting people's precious time.Imagine doing a masters for over 4 years for no fault of yours.

I HAIL YOU GREAT GIANTS!!!
Health / Re: UNIBEN Denounces Prof's HIV/AIDS Cure Claim by johpeace: 5:14am On Jan 10, 2013
The university corroborated wht I wrote earlier.
Thank God!!!

You cant come to claim a discovery-a drug for that matter without RCTs(clin trials).

Scientific discoveries follow procedures anywhr in d world. So for the fact dt He is a Nigerian doesnt exclude him or create bias in d minds of scientists.

Many studies have been controverted based on non universality of findings...therefore,hv not been accepted.
Crime / Re: 5 Goats Arrested & Prosecuted In Osun State For Violating Environmental Laws: by johpeace: 9:20pm On Jan 09, 2013
Although this is VERY FUNNY IN EVERY SENSE OF IT BUT THE TRUTH IS THAT IN ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH LAWS,THERE LAWS REGULATING STRAY ANIMALS.IF THEY CLD IMPLEMENT THE LAWS UPTO THE EXTENT OF ARRESTING STRAY ANIMALS,THEN THE STATE SHLD BE RANKING UPTO 100% IN ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES.

This is really funny considering the amount of resources deployed.
The owners of the goat would hv to hire an environmental lawyer for the defendants(goats)

Lwtmb finish!
Health / Re: Uniben Professor Discovers Cure For HIV/AIDS by johpeace: 9:18pm On Jan 08, 2013
Goodluck Dr Ibeh,
The following questions are for you:
1)Has the drug undergone Randomised Controlled Trials RCTs?If yes,who were your subjects and how did you select them?

2)As a renowned scientist,do we publish discoveries in forums like nairaland or in peer reviewed internationally reputable journals?Or is already being patented only for us to get incomplete information?

3)Before you could confortably say you have discovered a drug,WHO must be aware and RCTs conducted in different centers in randomly selected countries and randomly selected and assigned subjects...Has your discovery undergone these?

Well,I want to commend your hardwork. However,I advise that you follow scientific research guidlines in making your discoveries known.I commend advances our scientist are making in the field of HERBAL MEDICINE.Issues about herbal medicine, dosage, ingredients /concentration and quality control and standardisation still pose a great challenge.

Goodluck!!!

To the Writer,
I thoroughly read through your write-up.It actually shows that you know much about Imo State. However, since you aint resident here, its obvious that your submission on the present administration in Imo is rather scanty and incomplete

Career / Re: Doing A Phd Is Often A Waste Of Time, Says The Economist by johpeace: 9:04pm On Sep 22, 2012
@the Poster
Although I can agree with u upto some extent but I disagree to a much larger extent.
It is high time we differentiated between honorary PhD's and academic PhD and even ordinary medical doctor with Dr attached to his/her name.
Getting a pure academic PhD in Nigeria is not easy ooo. Here u see man's inhumanity to his fellow man.In most of our univ,u stay a minimum of 5yrs and in some cases 10yrs doing it.The requirements in a fed univ as am aware are very strict and hectic.
In fact,it is not for dullards and admission is highly restricted to very few outstanding MSc students.Howevr,if u are in d acad field, its easier.

But in some cases,I have seen job adverts requiring a PhD with lesser yrs of experience cos the PhD work is enof experience itself..eg FHI,WHO,UNICEF etc.

A PhD is not a waist of time if u have d intelligence and passion to do independent research and discoveries...

Going for my PhD next yr either here or abroad...
Crime / Re: Bandits On The Loose In Imo by johpeace: 8:52pm On Sep 16, 2012
I have observed with dismay dt whenevr comments get 2 Rochas, people tend to be sentimental.Even wen Rochas flogs them, they stil like him,may be he has a good charisma and knws truly the techniques of manoeuvrin people's psychic..even civil servants are prone to ds.

The security situation in Imo is nothing to write home about.
No doubt,Rochas has started well but I doubt if he is going to end well if he continues to fall prey to ds trap of PDP LG chairmen saga.

The security aspect is practically lacking.I think he is reactive rather than proactive.
I do not support criminality arising due to UNEMPLOYMENT and I do not subscribe to killing innocent citizens. I benefitted frm d 10,000 jobs and was d only MCB lecturer at Imo State Coll. Hlth Sc.,but Rochas came in and sacked evrybody with impunity without thoroughly checking weda these people were actually idle as he thought.

Most of Rochas' actions are being made irrationally...frm d sack of LG chairmen,10,000 etc to declaring free university education to paying primary and secondary students salary for coming to school. This is quite ridiculous wen some youths roam abt the streets of Owerri looking for jobs..

One thing abt ds Rochas is dt even wen Imo is insecure,he continues to travel all over the world looking for investors who ordinarily wouldnt come in an insecure envt.Since he came in,he has traveled over 10 times yet non of these so-called investors hv come...Rochas dont forget all ur campaign pledges.....dt u will never tamper with Imo allocation or covert it for personal use lest God's wrath will be on u and ur generations...The tricks with which u deceived myopic Imolites during ur campaigns here.

Pls Ur Excellency, begin to tek proactive measures on security...create jobs and let d youths work for crying out loud;let Owerri be neat agen...reintroduce envtal sanitation and other measures.

I do not think people will risk their lives agen to protect ur votes in 2015 wen the battle line is drawn b/w u and PDP if u continue to tek issues of security with kidsgloves and tek reactive measures..

I wsh u goodluck as to be a leader is not a child's play..

Politics / Re: Imolites Are Difficult To Govern – Okorocha by johpeace: 12:48pm On Sep 07, 2012
Lets begin a thorough analysis of Rochas' administration and his woes.
I am am Imolite and reside here,so am going 2 say d facts.
His probs began on June 6 wen he dissolved all d policies of d last admin both LG chairmen and 10,000 jobs scheme.
Now the LG chairmen whose tenure of 2 yrs cld hv elapsed last month and gone peacefully hv drwn a battle line with him and as PDP members in a PDP ruled country hv vowed to make ds state ungovernable with series of court cases and counteraccusations.
Can u believe dt d peopl's governor is in court with d same peopl dt slept along INEC PH road to protect his vote vis a vis d 10,000 jobs. They hv won the 1st round, however,he went on appeal and the case is still on..

Rochas started sooooo many roads but d rainy season came and worsened d state of these roads making them impassable and worsening d livin conditions of the people leading 2 series of complaints. In fact pipl advised him to take them in phases but for whr.

His free education is laudable but upto univ, men ds is not our main prob.It is simply UNEMPLOYMENT FOR IMO GRADUATES.Tel me..if u are a parent in present Nigeria which one will u choose?Dt som1 trains ur child in univ while u can or dt som1 gives ur child a good job which u cant?

IN CONCLUSION,ROCHAS IS DOING WELL NO DOUBTS ABOUT DT...BUT HE SHOULD FIRST DO A THOROUGH NEEDS ASSESSMENT TO DETERMINE THE IMMEDIATE PROBS OF HIS PEOPL INSTEAD OF FOREIGN POLICIES.
HE SHOULD EVALUATE THE PUBLIC PERCEPTION OF HIS POLICIES AND DISCONTINUE WITH BAD ONES EG COMMERCIALIZATION POLICY.
I wish him more powers to his elbows.

Family / Re: Should I End My Marriage by johpeace: 4:36pm On Aug 19, 2012
My dear friend,
I feel for you and sympathize with you over what you are passing through in your marriage.
However,I think 2 of you need to talk it over and not fight over it

First there isnt much difference b/w both churches except in the EUCHARIST.So there is nothing wrong in attending hers sometimes. In fact by attending hers you wld get to knw more abt ds Rev.Fr and d secret r/shp b4 u tek a rash decision. This does not mean u wont use ur own denomination as the main one, after all,its d same God,the same Our Lord Jesus we worship.

Agen,if u guys are not in peace and clear mental state, conception may be difficult as she is quite ageing. So my friend,be gentle with her and show her love and be in control of your family.

From the tone of ur story,u may hv married a stubborn and tough woman and u are kind of gentle. So pls mek ds marriage work and dont consider divorce cos most marriages face similar challenges in d first five years.

Pls pray over it and dont tek rash decisions now.

God will mek it work.
Family / Re: Marrying Someone You Are Not Crazy About.- Should I Marry Him? by johpeace: 2:38pm On Aug 11, 2012
My dear friend!
As u plan or get confused about whether to marry this man or not, pls consider the ff:
1. Does he have atleast 70% of d qualities u desire in a man?
2.Is his disposition likely 2 change after seeing he has hooked u down with marriage and pregnancies?
3. Check his bad threats and see whether they can scare or hamper ur true happines in marriage?
4 Analyse his strengths,opportunities etc.?
5. Sit him down and have a thorough heart2heart talk;der u find out things about him
6.Pls marriage is not all about sex as sex doent necessarily lead to marriage.Since u hvnt engaged in it with him,hw can u knw his abilities in dt regard?
7.Dont forget, traditionally as u hv rightly mentioned, sometimes the woman doesnt fall in luv b4 marriage, et they lived happily and outlive the so-called 'in-love' marriages.
8.Sometimes this love wanes, sex life withers especially as u hv kids and approach menopause but what keeps u goin are those good qualities dt attracted u to him like tolerance, understanding, proper and effective communication etc.In fact its a mix of all these qualities dt triggers d so called love.
10 Pray to God for advice and learn not to pride ursef over him cos u are financially more buoyant but be humble and humane in issues.
DONT FORGET:LOVE GROWS WITH TIME AND EQUALLY DIES WITH TIME AND OTHER CONTRIBUTORY FACTORS.
GOODLUCK!!!

I thank u all for ur comments. But 2 be sincere Rochas hs done so many things in d state.
But d impoverishment of d people Ohakim gave hope thru jobs is notin to write home abt.Though Ohakim didnt do it well and corrupted d whole gud intention, does dt warrant the total sack of these Imo indigenes who hv started work and gotten paid? Some hvnt been employed for over 15 yrs.
This is totally unfair and unacceptable.
