2004 throttless

Good day all, pls my car won't start, technician said I should change the sensor under the engine bay (I think crank shaft sensor). The first one I bought the car start once and after like 5 minutes it jerk and won't start again. He said I should buy another one so I bought 2 and both didn't work.

He scanned the car and said he found nothing. But the car still won't start.

When he left I open the door of the car and discovered the security light was off. Although I can not say exactly when the lights stop working.

I called him that I noticed security light is off, then he said the car has entered Code.

Pls what does this mean?

Considering the weight of that vehicle plus other loads and 3hrs drive duration couple with the road conditions and driving harbit, I personally don't see anything wrong with MPG.

Am considering doing same trip on highway with same liters of fuel.

because for example Lagos to Ibadan shld be btw 45m-1hr and the km is more than 36km that i cover in 3hrs on a bad road. Which means I shld have done to and fro Ibadan within dat 3hrs with the same fuel

personally I would say it is difficult to say. Because
1. you were probably moving at crawling speed due to the bad road.
2. at some point you carried very heavy load.

Do you notice vehicle manufacturers usually give 2 mpg ratings i.e urban and highway. This is because both conditions are different. And have you also noticed urban driving which is basically stop and go uses up more fuel than highway driving?

in your case, even though the journey only lasted for 3 hours, you cant judge your fuel economy based on that as it is not an ideal situation to guage fuel consumption to get a better view do the following, try to find out how much fuel your vehicle will consume if you travelled 36km of a free way.

But I was thinking since the Engine run for 3hrs nonstop on bad road to cover 36km. Won't it cover more on highway when the road is good for the same liters of fuel for 3hrs?

That is very poor fuel usage. You using a liter for just 2km. Work on your fuel systems.

I was surprised, I bought the fuel by myself, but I noticed it wasn't consuming dat much on highway. Today consumption just kept me curious.

I use a pathfinder 4.0L engine V6, today I covered a distance of 36km on a very bad road. The journey lasted for 3hrs non stop due to the bad road. With some heavy load inside the car at some point during the journey.

Pls is 18L fuel not on the high side for a journey of 36km although on a very terrible bad road.

Petrol is not food and is an important commodity but not an essential commodity.

Is it possible to allow a country to go into bankruptcy on the strength of funding petrol. We do need to go back to basics and instead give support in form of equipment and tax incentives to agric businesses than for petrol. The cost of food is what needs to come down not petrol.

My neighbor drove to filling station yesterday to buy a thousand naira fuel inside her car, and noticed the fuel light was still on. It was her daughter inside the car with her that reminded her she only bought 2ltrs before she start complaining.

How can we survive this. Many biz run on gen.
