I'm not sure there is room got change of name unless you deactivate your account. However, you can change your E-mail address. Hope this help |
Etfash:Thanks bro. Your write up is indeed an eye opener. Very informative! As a matter of fact, I'm teaching in one of the regular schools in Lagos you mentioned, and that in itself is limiting me in some ways. For instance, it is against the school policy for any teacher to offer private lesson to her students. In fact it is forbidden. Regarding tutorial center, I'm starting with an Educational Consultant in a week time and hoping to source out private lessons from there as time goes on. All said, what I really want to do is to free myself from where I currently work and move on to something with great prospect. Would you mind if I drop my number for wassup chatting? Once again, thanks! |
Dahyormine:Hello , I studied Physics/Education with a very strong 2:1 and planning to do Master's in geophysics in UI. Can we chat privately,? I have so enquiries. This is my no: 08020751023 |
Etfash:I studied Physics/Education...honestly, I desire to have higher degrees so I can lecture rather than teaching in a high school. However, there is no cash to actualize that for now hence the reason for saving. Meanwhile, if I get a good job I may want to forget about it, maybe. |
Hello, I'm a graduate currently teaching in a secondary school.. I'm planning to save up for Master's programm next year, since good job is not forthcoming.. I really want to know if it is the best decision or I should keep looking out for a better job? |

Hello Nairaland users, I am urgently in need of your advice about my career path. I will start by first letting you into my background a bit: I have a very good background in science ( physics) and Education, which is why getting a job in that line is never a problem. But the truth is most of the teaching jobs are nothing but " modern slavery". I feel sad going to work everyday, not that teaching in itself is bad but the income therein, as we all know, is so low that one can hardly settle down with it. I believe there are still better things I can do out there to increase my chance of landing a good job comes the year 2015. Now I want to change my career part, I want want to make a career out of Information Technology. And I have chosen Computer Programming. Yeah, have no background in IT whatsoever other than my burning desire and determination. I have heard people say Programming is complex, time consuming , stressful and requires lots of creativities, which only strengthen my resolve to learning it. Currently, I'm teaching in a school, which consume all of my time in the week days; so, I plan to enrol on weekends. If not that I still need the teaching job to fund it would have loved to devote all my time to it... But I still believe I can attain it regardless of any huddles. My questions as as follows: 1. What is your take on my new choice of career part, do you think it is wise? 2. Do you think I can attain a guru level in two years, and what are the dos and don'ts to accelerate to that level. 3. What are the basic skills you think I should imbibe to start with. 4. Does being a creative programmer has connection with your temparament traits. 5. Which of the IT school would you recommend, taking into cognizance their costs and quality. All the IT professionals in the house should help do justice to the above questions. Thanks! |
Hello, just bought a uk used iphone4, but do not know how to download free application such as was sap and BBm. Pls I need it suggestion. |
I'm Jonath, a 6ft4inches in height, chocolate guy... based in Lag and needs a serious minded lady for a serious relationship. interested lady must pretty and chubby. |
Update on Dee Unique School... I resumed work today, but transferred to another branch at Omole, which is far off my location. Think the director promise to provide accommodation around the school area... The hitch here is they already have a teacher in my subject area, now I am to take over from him based on my teaching experience. they need someone who has experience in practical aspect, and I possess all that. In fact, I have been taking all the classes while it seems the guy has been benched. I just wonder what becomes of him...maybe an assistant teacher or something... Once again, I expressed my gratitude to the poster of that job.... God bless you! |
ekiyor3: . Too bad i don't knw their address either. I just saw it on jobberman when i applied 4 the Economics teacher position.Sometimes, I doubt the authenticity of some of the job advert on jobsite. I cannot imagine a school in this information age without a website. If indeed they do exist, then it means such schools do not worth it. Any schools I cannot search on google, to me, does not worth it |
GoldenDr: You did not specify if it is the one at omole, Ilemo, Magodo or abesan. Thanks for the info and the job post.Alright... It is Abesan campus... was there today for micro teaching. But unfortunately, they already have a teacher in my subject area. Obviously, they were wow by my competency in the subject matter and style of teaching; so, they asked me if I could take two other subjects that are not my major discipline, but are closely interrelated. Though I could teach the subject effectively I felt reluctant to accept the offer because I would missed laboratory works. In a nutshell, I accepted to come for another micro teaching for the two subjects next week. And they instantly told me their salary for starter is a little above 45k......... Though I'm currently unemployed I'm still contemplating accepting it or not, and certainly not 'cos of money, but 'cos of the reasons affore mentioned.... will give more feedback as the event unfolding In another related development, got a written interview invite from PATHFINDER college Samonda Ibadan, scheduled to hold on Tuesday 5th, August 2014. Unfortunately, I will not be attending 'cos I'm in Lagos, and that seems too remote for me. For Ibadan folks, just give it a try and gate crash. You never can tell! The advert must have been posted here before I applied........ Big thanks to our job advert posters GoldenDr, artisticallyart and others... Keep the flag flying....... |
Feed back on Dee Unique International College......... Went for CV submission today, and fortunately was scheduled immediately for micro teaching in few days time. Big thanks to the poster of that job.... Also vacancy exists at Siddy Sydney nursery and primary school, Amoo street, Orile Agege lagos. It's a new school that needs the service of competent TCII /NCE / graduate teachers. Walk right into the school and apply in person...The interview day is tomorrow, 31/07/2014 |
