Many Nigerian celebrities did odd jobs before fame. From Timaya working as a plantain seller to Banky W working as a sales boy, life was not easy for many of them at early stage. The celebrities below did odd jobs before stardom. 1. Timaya Back in the days, Timaya was a great ‘hustler’ and a very good Plantain seller. Yes! The Egberipapa 1 of Bayelsa was a Plantain Seller who lived with a lady who took him in after his landlord sent him packing in Port-Harcourt. 2. Patoranking Patrick Nnaemeka, Patoranking didn’t always have things rosy. Infact, the Headies Award Next Rated Artiste 2014 was a former Bricklayer and Rat Poison Seller on the streets of Lagos! He virtually rose from nothing to the star he is today. 3. P-square Although they are one of Africa’s biggest artistes now, but these two actually went through hell before the money started coming in. Peter once worked as a Supermarket Attendant while Paul did Some Electrical repairs for money. 4. Mercy Johnson Okojie Nollywood star actress, Mercy Johnson Okojie once opened up about life before the fame, money and marriage where she revealed how she managed to rise from her squalor to become one of Nigeria’s most celebrated star. According to her asides once living in an uncompleted building, she once worked as a maid just to make ends meet. 5. Don Jazzy Before Don Jazzy became famous and made fellow producers feel inferior, the Mavin Boss moved to London in the United Kingdom in 2000 after his Uncle invited him to come play the drums for the neighborhood Church. He did various odd jobs including working at McDonalds as a security guard while trying to hit it big. 6. John Okafor For comic actor, John Okafor, he was not in anyway born with a silver spoon. In an interview recently, he said before he became a popular person, he sold firewood, was a butcher and a hair stylist. 7. Joseph Benjamin Who would even think that polished looking actor, model and voice over artiste, Joseph Benjamin was also once a bus conductor, security guard, waiter, bakery worker and a shoe seller? The MTN project fame host revealed in an interview that he went through various jobs before finally hitting it big in the movie industry. 8. Banky W It’s hard to believe but there was a time when EME boss, Banky W took on the job of a sales boy to make money for studio time in the US. The RnB crooner worked in fast foods outlets, clothing stores and as a knife salesman, selling knives from door to door.

Following criticisms from many Nigerians that Rotimi Amaechi does not deserve ministerial nomination due to an alleged corruption,Comedian Okey Bakassi has aired his view on the issue.According to him, both Amaechi and Fashola deserve their nomination because a workman is entitled to his wages. Read what he said below.... "Fellow Nigerians, I have not commented on National issues for a while. I've been minding my business..... I've been following the controversies generated by the ministerial LIST. My opinion: It will be against the law of natural justice not to include Rotimi Amaechi in PMB's list. Even the holy book says.....a workman is entitled to his wages...... We have all sinned and come short of the glory..... Amaechi put everything he had...plus his life on the line , towards the campaign and election of PMB. It will be an act of wickedness for him not to benefit from it. On the allegations of corruption against Amaechi; I'm not EFCC, ICPC, CCT or GOD to pass judgement ....nobody in the entire government is 100% clean, why single out Amaechi or Fashola. Let it be on record that I supported PDP in the last election and still support them and I did not collect money from anyone for my support. I may not like Amaechi's role in the removal of GEJ but I support his inclusion in the ministerial list. It's only fair that "person wey follow work, must follow chop". He's also one of the few that look like youth in that list. I also think they should leave Saraki alone to ...... I want to see how much CHANGE we can actually get. Have a fun weekend @okeybakassy''
