It's hard imagining of the speed! The video was already downloaded in future, pressing 'download' would be like pressing 'play'! spendoon: By the time you start seeing a speed of 1tb/s files of that size would have been like how 1mb is now |

For f*ck sake! I tbp/s? This is pure madness! vaxx: Yes, as a transit medium, we do everything from 100Mbps to 100Gbps regularly. I’ve heard of people starting 200Gbps and i am expecting to see 400Gbps within in a few years and 1Tbps before I die. LOL |

Google fiber has speeds of up to I gigabit per second(1000mbs/s).That's dangerously fast! vaxx: There is no way satellite will be better than fiber optic unless economic decision is a factor. bandwidth, speed and scarcity are all what gives fiber optic the best option to consider.
The distance from Earth to the satellite and back creates delays which make real-time communication more difficult than by fibre. i know of a company called O3b who has tackled this by introducing MEO satellites which are closer to the Earth and so have lower latency, but they still require more complex antennae. |

That explains it why! vaxx: Rwanda is even a landlocked country. so there is no information kept under the bottom of the ocean that must used fiber optic to retrieved.
it is good for them. |

In monster speeds internet, fiber is superior to satellites unless satellite technology has advanced that quick! Yeah,it depends with the purpose! theenchanter: satellite is better than fibre optics.
But it all depends on its intended purpose. |

Satellites would do them justice.Rwanda isn't that big! But fiber optics edges all! vaxx: good. but that will depends on the country pocket. economy impact is also very vital.
Large communicatuons satellites also cost huge amounts of money but they can deliver coverage over wide areas pretty much irrespective of geography. Their biggest issue when compared to fibre is that they have a very limited bandwidth in comparison.
The idea is to transfer knolwledge across the whole nation, i think satellite for now is ok for ruwanda educational system till they can raised more funds to support other technology. Not doing any of them at all is the most backward decision any nation can decide for now. |

It's nice having a healthy mixture of all.Communication masts, satellites, fiber optics and add internet balloons if you want too! It's like dating, try all the shapes and sizes-Don't just stick to one,as they say 'Variety is the spice of life'vaxx: impressive. those this technology support 1 terabyte of data to pass via it. i am aware satileite doesn't support up to that. |

Tech is the future. You either embrace it or get risked being left out! vaxx: IT is the next big deal, it will eliminate the purpose of building many mortal blocks and save a lot of cost that comes with physical location.
A nation that is IT savy can connects and educate all her citizen's without much hassle. . IT' is huge and it’s growing.
what Rwanda did indicate more opportunities and growths even for those who are old or consider themselves a complete illiterate in their country. they are about to build a very productive society. |

Internet balloons are good in enhancing the network strength but this can happen!
They seldom fall down though but it's much cheaper than satellites! vaxx

It's a turd expensive laying out Fiber to each corner of the country, but we are doing it anyways. We will build an ICT innovation hub in each county to provide a platform where innovators and techprenuers can get help in actualizing their startup ideas! We are also partnering google through the 40% state owned communication firm Telkom Kenya to increase the network coverage of the whole country through internet balloons! vaxx: This is a good decision making for a progressive country like ruwanda.
i wish Ghana can emulate this idea. so many schools in the village need to be connected to the cyber space. they also deserve quality teaching and excellent education.

Good initiative from the Rwandans. I've just read of it.They say that a fiber network would have been a lot more expensive that explains why they opted for satellite technology. In Kenya we are on a fiber craze,I guess different things work best for different countries!` That a boost to their ICT sector.Kigali has been really upping it's game seeking to dislodge Kenya as the ICT Kingpin in East and Central Africa,I'm afraid they will have to do more! vaxx: Thumps up Rwanda....
""Rwanda launched the first ever Satellite in its skies to connect schools with internet across the remote parts of the country.
At exactly 23:37 (local time), Rwandans waited with excitement as the Satellite was launched live on state broadcaster – Rwanda Television.
We are definitely looking forward to the launch of other satellites soon. The Satellites would add to the already existing knowledge-based economy on improving decision making in sectors such as Telecommunication, Agriculture, Navigation, National security, Disaster and several other domains that it could contribute to on a larger scale.""
i just love this.........
I want Ghana to copy this...... |

Quoting an article on Pulse Nigeria: https://www.pulse.ng/gist/nigeria-population-crisis-we-are-sitting-on-a-time-bomb/g9fhgpg'The future looks bleak and gloomy if we do not do something about it now. On Saturday, August 5, 2017, Senator Ben Murray Bruce tweeted something so alarming and dangerous. The former Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority alerted Nigerians to a ticking time bomb.' "In 2017, our projected population growth is 2.6% while our projected economic growth is 0.8%. We MUST stop producing more babies than jobs!" he tweeted. What high population growth and less figures of economic growth means for Nigeria; 'Nigerians will see their real income per head fall every year until at least 2023, according to forecasts by the IMF, a potentially painful squeeze for a country with per capita gross domestic product of just $1,994.' https://www.proshareng.com/news/NIGERIA%20ECONOMY/Nigeria%E2%80%99s-GDP-Per-Head-To-fall-For-8-Straight-Years---IMF-/40145 |

I can see some countries like Nigeria going into a demographic crisis.Let them enjoy manufacturing the babies, when the sh*t hits the fan and the economy says enough it's enough. They'll start eating each other. They are damn everywhere now and also being chased everywhere! More is yet to come! Everyone is running out of that cesspool,it is becoming inhabitable! XhosaNostra: Very sad but true @ bolded. Let's hope this mentality will change at some point. We need to be more responsible. |

The recent investment in our healthcare sector also explains the baby boom in the marginalized areas. The infant mortality rate has declined tremendously which is a good thing.Education and family planning campaigns in these areas should address the problem. rvp2018: There is need for intervention in the neglected/marginalized parts of kenya - family planning education through ads - improving literacy levels there - women rights - have contraceptive freely and cheaply available - having abortion and productive health care easily available - dealing with teenage marriage and pregnancy. I know it's no longer a priority because kenya is well on the mark to attaining South African countries level of 2 kids per woman - and but they need to remember that some folks were left out. |

They've been growing off late,I won't call them a minority group. They are quite significant now. They make up good numbers in our political set up! I'll post them soon! It's hard developing with a high dependency ratio. This is where the population working in an economy supports a much bigger non-working population.Fertility rate has a bigger say on the dependency ratio.Less children mostly means more savings, more savings means a high purchasing power and more investments thus prosperity! Children can really pull your finances if you are a working class! The HNWI (high net worth individuals) and the upper middle class can gamble on the number of children they have! In developing countries,it is the low income earners who make this dangerous gamble! XhosaNostra: Lol @ bolded. Are they a minority group? I really don't understand people like that. To me it's irresponsible & they should be neutered. The rest of the world keeps wondering why "we" keep bringing even more children when we can barely feed ourselves. It's embarrassing. |

Shows the state of unemployment in Nigeria.Whilst others bang for fun they bang to produce more and more babies. Talk about their women being baby factories.I think it's more of a cultural and a religious problem. We have cushites in Kenya who are composed of the likes of the Somalis and Boranas. These tribes believe in large families(lots of children). They are on a baby boom right now! I just hope they don't f*ck up our demographic goals! XhosaNostra: Can you imagine! In this continent we really are our own worst enemy. I wish they could make people undergo an IQ test before allowing them to Bleep like rabbits so they can parade their stupidity for the whole world to see. |

You can say that again! 7 children per woman while their economy can barely expand by three percent in a year! Not a good stat! XhosaNostra: As of 2019, this is what separates us humans from the baby-making machines at top 10. |

It may look like you are throwing shades but these are scientific facts! They are the masters of producing below-par movies.Their accent is a turn off and they just seem to be shouting! TayserMahri: Dude, I said all your movies are B-rated. I dont know any of them by name, never even watched one, all I know is they are all poor quality low budget juju-centric movies. You cant even compare Kenyan software with Naija software. We are way above. Compare even our president with yours. Ours is an Ivy League graduate while yours is an illiterate elementary school drop out who cant even read his name. And you elected him again because of your MS-DOS mental software (btw you should bow in shame). We use your movies to measure literacy levels. Your movies are associated with the least learned in Kenya. The less learned the more attracted to your movies. You should make hay while the sun shines because in the next 5 years we will be having close to 99 % literacy, which translates to next to zero fans for your movies.
We make world class movies the only difference is that we dont make them so quickfire like you. I understand it takes you two days to shoot a movie, which you do with your phones. We are not going to allow ourselves to be dragged to this level! Thats why we produce the likes of Lupita Nyong'o who is richer than all Nigerian actors combined! |

These are the fertility rates of East Africa as per UNFPA Rwanda 3.95 Uganda 4.95 Burundi 4.90 TZ 4.60 Sudan 4.60 Eritrea 4.60 Ethiopia 3.75 Kenya 3.65 The fertility rates of Western countries are at 2.4. We need to get below three children to two and then grow our economy by much higher levels. We will be a good places if we can do this! Less people more wealth is the way to go!
