Slums are easily distinguishable in Kenya. We don't have a slumpolis.

They are temporary and far from being permanent structures because they are built on illegal land most of which belongs to the gov't,

Picture one is from S.Africa

Picture two and three is from Kibera.

They are actually right when say they don't have slums. They have turned their entire cities into slummish megacities. They have slumpolis. Trying to seperate slums from Kumasi, or Accra or any Nigeria city (maybe Abuja is not soo bad) is impossible.

Slums like you have in Kenya, South Africa, Mexico, India are like this....CONTAINED & RESTRICTED.

At 2:36 you get to see two different layers of tarmac of different shades,the dull one appears to be marked,the one from Upperhill which is darker isn't.The roads at upperhill in some sections which are new are yet to be marked,otherwise there are no potholes,only road side beautification is needed. You can see there is plenty of available space,the area is seeing development now.
