• It’s a dead zone; don’t come here with high hopes and creativity, you will end up in the warehouse and factories
• Education: The academic system here is unnecessarily tough and the certificates are not well recognized, most average black family here send their kids to the UK or USA
• Accomodation crisis: be prepared to share a room and bathroom with three people while you share a kitchen with like 15 -20 people
• The immigration process is slow and expensive; you have to pay to get your visa upon arrival asides the payment you made in Nigeria, after studying for a year and your visa expires you will pay and get appointment (which is a very slow process i.e you can wait 2 months to be able to get an appointment date)and renew your visa for another one year when that expires you pay again and get an appointment but the only difference is that this time you must show proof that you have been trying to get a job and details of job applications and interview
• The standard of living is unnecessarily expensive; when you get here you wont even be able to afford basic things of life such as coke and Fanta, for lades things like toiletries and sanitary towels cost a fortune
• Transportation; this cost between 80-100 Euros per week
• Wages; here in Ireland you get paid weekly, every Friday morning you get your wages and it will mostly go on rent, transport and feeding and the cycle continues, you are only allowed to work maximally for 20hours
• Health; seeing a doctor cost as much as 100 Euros and you will only get a note to get drugs from the pharmacist (cost depends on the drugs) or go do test (Usually 200-300 Euros), Ambulance service starts at 100 Euros

If you live here already, you will everly get job through online portals and the various unemployment services this nation has to offer....or, by direct networking (which is my style)....Finns love to see all proofs of experience/Education in certificate form too...Truth is, many factors help you in getting these, your papers, skills, language skills, mobility etc....Also bigger cities like Helsinki are getting more open to English speaking workers but for the rest regions, Finnish and Swedish skills are mostly essential

Applying for a Work Visa

If you are an expatriate on an intra-company transfer or with a job offer in Israel, you require both a work permit and a work visa in order to take up employment. To obtain these documents, follow those four steps:

First, you must submit an application for a work permit with the Israeli Ministry of Economy and Industry. Since your employer acts as your sponsor, the company will often take care of the paperwork for you. The HR staff has to prove that there is no Israeli national suitable for the job, and they must provide information on the position, the proposed salary, your professional qualifications and background. The ministry will then issue a work permit recommendation for the Ministry of Interior (MOI).

With the work permit, you can apply for a visa recommendation from the Office of the Population Registrar at the MOI. During this step, it’s important that you begin to arrange health insurance for the duration of your stay. This can often be done through your employer, although you may require a (additional) private healthcare plan.

After getting the recommendation from the ministry, you can start the visa application at the nearest Israeli mission. Don’t forget to provide a certificate of good conduct, a medical exam (if required), two passport photographs, and a completed application form. You must also agree to have your picture and your fingerprints taken.

With this work visa, you are allowed to enter Israel. However, the visa itself is usually valid for 30 days only. Make sure to go to the local MOI office and extend it on a yearly basis. A work visa usually enables you to live in Israel for up to five years. Your dependent family members normally get a secondary visa for the duration of your stay, but such visas do not include a work permit.
