In as much I don't subscribe to this delay, I believe we should exercise little patient, because if chaos ensue out if, it will then be people from the top of the chain, that will get much of the job, while they may give few of the "struggle leaders" the job as well, and the rest that merit the job will still lose out. Just like any other war, the top guns are still the ones to take large of the spoils. All these "tweeter influencers" might even get slot to sabotage the struggles. Remember NLC thingy, your University Students Union back then, Charlie Boy Our mumu don do saga, and many more...

So if it can take WEMA (a non governmental firm) to delay success notification from a year or more, when they probably won't recruit more than 300 at a go, then let's exercise more patience, at least, the rumour is still saying January for the training to start, and we're just starting December.

They should just come out and "annul" it like Abacha did in 1993 during IBB regime. Or what else could be the reason for the delay after about 5months from interview. Do they actually need new/more employees or they just wanna employ for employment sake? Cuz I can't imagine Restaurants, Hospitals, Construction firms, Banks et al needing staff, but still don't know when to call in successful candidates. I mean, if they really need us, how are they even operating since March when the vacancy came out? who are the people working in the position of the supposedly 1300 they wanna employ at the moment?

As it stands, there seems to be a superior argument in favor of Contract Staff within the Mgt circle. This is for a number of reasons amongst which is the fact that they already have requisite hands-on experience/training over the years. So, Why hire new EHs when you have already expended resources to train Contract Staff?

As such, they’re considering proceeding with GTs and shelving EH applicants. No final resolution has been made yet as they’re still weighing the options and having meetings.

In the end, there might just be some middle-ground agreement.. take from here and there.

It's 2014, then with one year service, that's minimum of 2015, which is not up to 5yrs, except you're looking at 2020 timeframe. But then again, how about 5yrs experience in non- O&G, does that count as well? 5yrs in teaching in a private school? 5yrs of not doing anything concrete (you know people can really exaggerate experience on a CV)... anyway, same is applicable to EHs too, more than half the years of experience needed might not be spent doing something "serious", yet, they might be lucky to be selected.

Again, why do some firms contact/send emails to successful applicants at midnight or early morning like 5am?

I remember when I attended the interview in 2011 as a GT applicant then. I was asked about ways that can be used to make investment decision between two mutually exclusive projects? I could only recollect the methods ( discounted cash flow method and non-discounted cash flow method) immediately I stepped out of the room! I even made jest of one of the panel members that once worked in an auditing firm I worked with briefly after graduating ( based on my CV).

was that the only question you couldn't answered correctly then?
what do you think, is the major reason of not being selected then??

I think someone earlier spoke about cancellation of the recruitment for EH... I just got the confirmation of that news from a source at NPDC , and also that d GT list will b out VERY SOON, no date to back it up though but seems in line with what Napolitano and others mentioned...

Because the "Grupoians" a.k.a "the contract staff" are competing with EHs and not GTs? It's well o.

I know good numbers of EHs get long legs too, so it's "fight to finish".

Una don start... The reality is that, all the panel will witness such candidates, not just panel 6, in fact at an average, at least 10% of the candidates will goof some of questions, another 10% will believe they answered well, whereas, to the panel, they didn't, another 10% will show fear during the interview session, some 10% will be too cocky, some will even say things they'll later realized it was wrong answer after leaving the panel and many other cases like that, and it won't happen in a particular panel only, but every other panel.

In the end, it takes the "Grace" of God to get this APL.

Guys, I asked one retired supervisor at KRPC concerning the recruitment and he linked me up with a contract staff working at CDU1. They said they want to install new steam pumps and some other equipment but they had to shift commissioning to January when GTs must have come because equipment installation is part of their training. He also said they are expecting a total of twenty-something chemical engineering GTs and a few science GTs in production unit. I asked him to estimate when resumption might be but he said he is not sure. All he said new engineers will definately be needed by January

Apparently the recruitment has gained some traction this past days. Spoke with a DM in NAPIMS HR and she said they are currently working on the Organogram to ensure vacancies align with Group HR prior to posting. She suggested this practice is currently ongoing across the subsidiaries with pace. She mentioned resumption is planned for January. Based on the info, Notifications are most likely to be sent out next month (which is from next week) all things being equal.

Truth of the matter also remains that if not that we as a people are innately selfish and don't care about anyone else apart from ourselves, the case the lawyer is pursuing is actually for the good of everyone. Why segregate one aspect of the society because of age which is totally no fault of theirs. If we had an outta of selflessness we will all rally round the lawyer to pursue the case. This is the same thing our leaders do too. They don't care about anyone else apart from themselves and their family. Ask yourself this. If NNPC has pegged the age at 20 to which many people here would have been disqualified do you think you will be supporting the lawyer or not. This is also why our prayers seems never to get answered because God sees our minds that we are just pursuing our selfishness. Good night

I spoke with ss2 HSE staff at nnpc, he told me about the speculation of releasing apl this week or next. But asked if i have called another brother who works with HR nnpc? I said no but we exchanged Friday greetings via text. He directed i shall call him to confirm. I placed a call to him by 7:30pm and we spoke. I asked him about same speculation of releasing apl this week or next. He said is not true. His response:
" we just came out of meeting, i arrived home not past 20 mins. It may occur in December and may be January or February. Dont u know that we are even pursuing court case? mtsss (as in worried about the process) nothing for now i am telling you (he called my name) ". He prayed the best for me and i thanked him.

I like this apl pass i think, my promotion to same SS level i applied wt nnpc is due by Dec 03. Any date after Dec 03 i am just demoted. But we have to stick on the reality. As i have said, is hard for nnpc to shun court case, being BUHARI as the petroleum minister.
