scrollmeout: @jorgan, need I say more? You have been enlightened by the boss himself. Try your best to have the end in view --what you want to study- for how long-what opportunities does it provide after study- In all, do you research and pray about it. All the best! Thanks |

NNBB2012: It is important for you to understand what you want to do before you take steps with respect to your study. Studying in Australia does not automatically lead to PR, you just to earn the points although it may contribute to points provided that you meet Australian study requirement. If you study a course that is not on the skills occupation list, it won't lead to PR if at all you spend years doing that.
There are two streams of Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485): Graduate-work stream (18months) and Post-study work stream ( 2yrs-4yrs) depending on your degree. To be eligible for graduate-work stream, you need to meet Australian study requirements which minimum of 2 academic years or 16months of study or 92 weeks of study. And also the course has to be recognised and you need to obtain positive assessment from the respective assessing body. To gain positive assessment alone, most assessing bodies require minimum of 1 yr experience. Meanwhile, you will earn extra 5 points for studying in Australia and points for studying in regional area which is a plus for you.
Likewise, to be eligible for post-study work stream, you need to meet Australian study requirements which minimum of 2 academic years or 16months of study or 92 weeks of study at minimum BSc level. However, this one does not require an assessment. You will get the following years: BSc/MSc/MSc ext-2yrs,MSc by research-3yrs and PhD-4yrs.
So, think very well before you choose a particular course. Do a course that will ultimately lead to jobs after and that helps you get your PR. God bless you for this insight, I get it now! |

johnHadey: The 16months minumum is key to getting ur subclass 485 which would later aid ur PR..I know people that av jumped 485 by getting a bridging visa(A or B) to extend their stay conditionally for as long as conclusions on their application would be made..and they eventually got PR..tthat link is strictly who u know and how much u av.. Its certain u need use at least 92weeks in study for considered further stay through the student route.. Thanks for this valued info |

scrollmeout: The decision is yours, examine your case critically whether you'll need the additional points or not if you have PR in view after studies. The two year study only makes you eligible for the additional points Edakun pls come closer becos haff loss! This thing is confusing me, I need your help with clarity. Okay now, when I complete my one year program in au, regardless of the program length, am I qualified at all to apply for P.R, therefore gathering points from other possible eligible areas arriving at 60points, discarding whatever points 2 years study length can get me?! Is the 2 year study thing a must before I can apply for P.R or just an added advantage in terms of gathering points? Pls I need your response edakun |

scrollmeout: For more clarity, your length of study in Australia has a bearing on your PR application. You are both correct, the 'bolded' just seems a bit contradictory. You may be qualified for graduate visa after study but it's not automatic. In your ponts test, you get additional 5 points for Australian study and an additional 5 points in a regional area/low population grow the area. The caveat however, is that the period of study must be at least two academic years or 16 calendar months This minimum 2 years thing is disturbing o, mayb I should just jejely stay in naija and continue my life because my course is for a year, no need to waste 4 million plus. I saw somewhere dat it's minimum of 6 months. Mehn I m gutted right now |

Pls let's try not to provide shoddy information on here pls...so as not to mislead ourselves. If you are not sure of the answer to a question its better to just observe. |

johnHadey: ur tuition fee is strictly based on ur credit points... but if u aim at P.R or further stay after studies, u need to undergo a course of at least 1.5years. if u embark on ur 1year course, u will av to enroll in another program to continue ur stay or leave aussie after ur program.. the ball is in ur court.. Errrm, pls chill! According to my research, the length of your study doesn't directly affect your job opportunity or P.R. However studying a course of about 2 years only adds to you points. Every international student after study in Australia is qualified for a post study visa of two years. Msc level = 2 years, Ph.d= 3 yrs |

Ifexsco: Hello Frazeez, every time I read your posts, I seriously withhold myself from commenting. Not to insult you but I feel you a big baby, spolit, and very very impatient! What is sad news for you? That your documents are being subjected to further checks? Is that a visa denial No need of coming here and looking for sympathy and to whip up sentiments! What if I told you that my 189 has been dragging for 9 months now? Maybe if you were the one, you would have since been admitted for high BP? Man up or Woman up!! Going to Australia is not your ultimate destiny in life! Calm down and don't come crying here everyday! If that visa is to come out tommorow, will you ignore it? All I will say is be patient, no need to throw money around, see this one through and if need be you will deferr the admission. US student visas are no less stressful or quicker to secure. I hope you don't see this as an insult. God bless you. U just spoke my mind! |

Happy Sunday house!
Pls is it compulsory to submit any English proficiency test scores, like IELTS in 573 visa application? Or can one simply rely on other form of testing which satisfies the school you got admission? |

adim02: @jorgan how are you doing today.I use form A last week Friday and on wenesday my money was deducted from my account fortunately, the lady never called me just yesterday i went to the bank to see her which say by monday i will hear from her.do you know that just around 5.55pm i receive alart from CBN crediting my money back just tired.what do you think might be the problem. Something similar happened to me, on Wednesday My account was debited , in the debit alert, it showed that the money was taken out for "CBN BID" then on Friday last week another alert came in, CBN returned the money to my account and then immediately I was debited Again, and this time the debit alert indicated that I was debited by FORM A not CBN bid. you should go to the bank on Monday, and find out if you won the bid or not! And secondly don't be tired, if you didn't win the bid contact your agent immediately. |

I missed out on my resumption (Jan 25th) because of Form A and forex wahala, I almost broke down, trust me it was a terrible period, but from that moment God started moving on my behalf.
I moved my school fees deposit to my pop's first bank account and his account officer took over the telegraphic transfer. He explained that CBN was running out of dollars and that they prioritized payment of school fees based on bidding and a submission window of just once a week for a duration of two hours.
To cut the long story short my school fees was sent to the school on the 25th of January and the school had no choice than to give me another offer which required that I pay more in other to get my CoE. But the offer letter didn't come on time so I didn't know the exact amount to pay in addition. I was led by the spirit to initiate another transaction and I filled another form A conveying the sum of 5,000 AUD in anticipation. Fortunately for me, I won yet again another bid and the 5,000 got to the school on Monday. At the end of the day when the new offer letter came, the school indicated that I was meant to pay just 1,500aud.
I got my CoE on Wednesday. I m grateful to God for divine direction.
I would have been in another mess now that CBN has added medical and school fees to prohibited forex list. |

“Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.”. This is a quote from Thomas Edison, a man who tried more than 999 times before achieving a ground breaking success.
You trying a third time won't look anyhow, the only way it looks to every reasonable person in Pretoria is that u r a fighter! Get ur genuine sponsor, revamp you documents and give your visa application another shot! With God on ur side he is the chief Case Officer, the Consular-general of all. |

adim02: @ jorgan please did you submit any financial statement to pfl cos my agent said i should only submit my financial statement or my parent own and not of cousin. She even saide i school not pay my fees.what is your suggestion to this matter. Please house still advice me on this matter.university of newcastle. I am using pfl, and my agents hv been very helpful, I have three officers from them on my case, one of whom is a regional councellor for pfl. When I got my offer letter, the agent that forwarded my application documents didn't request for a financial statement whatsoever, I don't know why yours is asking, its strange. Here is my advice for you:- study the offer letter sent to you by the school if it's not stated that you should send any additional documents be it financial statement in other to accept your offer, then don't send anything to any other party! Bro go ahead and pay your fees, you do not have time to waste. Go ahead pay ur fees! Mine, I was told to fill the acceptance form and return to the school along with my fees deposit. That was all! You can ask your agent why she needs your financial statement later, but for now try to meet the conditions on your offer letter. |

I contacted them during my payment hassle with Form A and they blatantly told me to contact my agent. only wubs is d way! I just got alert this evening, God arrested CBN for me and I was finally debited by Form A, my deposit fees has been sent!
