Take your Naira and buy dollar from forex, then put it in your domicilliary account. Then transfer to wherever abroad. Simple
That means u hv to buy dollar from black market and dats murder. The rate is too high, will end up losing more dan 300k in d transaction.

my E family member please i just receive offer from university of newcastle graduate program.please is newcastle an SVP program.course HRM .Secondly, please those that got offer from the school which of the best means of payment used.thanks as i wait for response.
First of all, congrats. secondly before i give you the bad news... i got an offer to study graduate program as well in university of newcastle and till now as we speak, i am still trying to pay my school fees using the "best" payment option western Union business solution, telegraphic transfer aka FORM A. i have been on this process since the 4th of january. i hv tried everything i can to pay my fees but to no avail. then just today, i saw this http://www.ngrguardiannews.com/2016/01/cbn-stops-daily-currency-auction-for-banks/ CBN has stopped selling forex to banks. meaning the hope of paying my school fees using FORM A is dead!!!!!

so here is my advice, you hv to look for another alternative to pay your deposit. if you know any other potentially successful means pls help me out
TravelRe: Which Exchange Rate Will I Be Charged With When I Want To Pay Fees Abroad by jorgan(m): 9:06am On Jan 17, 2016
I m not schooling abroad yet, but I m in d process! You will be charged the official CBN rate provided you are wiring the money via western union business solution.

But at the moment, paying school fees is difficult in Nigeria due to the problem with forex. I hv been trying to pay my fees since 4th of January to no avail.

That being said, u total fees (I.e. Say about 33,000) is it for a year? 18months or 2yrs?
Thanks.
Plus did uni of Newcastle require English test for admission?
It's precisely 29,991 AU$ for 12 months. The program length is 12months. You won't be able to apply on your own, you will be asked to go thru an agent.

Just use PFL. Newcastle didn't require English when I applied. I just wasted my time writing ielts tests. Got an offer letter from the school very quick!

Am Just Thinking, Can't One Possibly Pay Over In Aussie On Your Behalf Just To Have You Meet Your Timeline, While You Deposit The Equivalent Into Either Their Dorm Or Current Account Here In Nigeria?

Someone Should Have Been In This Exchange Business By Now To Help Applicant In Dire Situations As This.

Just My Thoughts....
You are making absolute sense and I also gave that a tot, I am currently in contact with one of us here in other to get it done, just waiting for the outcome of my application by CBN on Friday before I make this move.

Thank you very much

Hello guys, if you got admission and u r yet to pay your fees pls indicate. Forex situation in Nigeria is making things really tight now.

I got admission with UoN and since the beginning of this year, I hv been trying to pay my fees using the Form A. I m due for resumption latest by February 5.

I filled the form with FirstBank on the 4th of January using my personal account and because of SVP 573 rules which required that I pay a deposit of my tuition fees before being issued eCoE to apply for visa, I had to pressurize the bank to hasten the process as I have roughly 5 weeks to get my eCoE, medical tests, then apply for visa (which takes max of 3 weeks to be granted).

Like play, one week had gone and I didn't receive any notification that the payment transaction was made. I became confused then went to the bank to find out wat was going on, the western union guy told me that CBN allows just a day in a week for foreign exchange and between 8am - 11am during this window. I got pissed and felt that the guy wasn't willing to help so I told him to stop.

My dad also uses FirstBank and has a good account officer so I transferred the money for my fees to his account mandating him to sign the Form A on my behalf. His account officer assured me that it will be done and was willing to help.

Then just this morning, I called the man and he informed me on how difficult it will be to process it on time as CBN has everyone knows has limited flow of forex to banks and it's not available at this time.

This is the story of my life right now, I don't know wat else to do, I m running out of time. I do not know when commercial banks will hv enough forex to process payment of school fees.

Does or did anyone encounter this problem? How did u go about it if u did encounter the problem and was able to pay ur fees? Pls house ur response is needed

Happy new year in advance to everyone on this great platform.

I got a conditional offer to study accounting in University of Newcastle.I attempted to make my tuition deposit through GTB on 21st December 2015 but i was told that CBN has closed foreign exchange market transactions for the year and that they will resume on 4th January,2016.I want to know if i can still meet up with February 15th resumption date for my course.

I will appreciate a speedy response from the house.
Same here, university of Newcastle too, Got the same story from First bank! Immediately I informed the school about the development, but I got a response from the school saying they hv closed for the year, till January 10,2016. For your case, u can't submit your visa application on the 10th of January or earlier because u need your eCoE to take to teleperformance! My advice is that you check for the deadline date for resumption on your offer letter! Mine is 5th of February, I think 25th is still okay for you, you won't hv a problem

Dollar is now #280 in the parallel market,
don't know when it will start affecting the AUD$.
Although fears is still gripping the traders , some saying it might grow up to #400 in a short while.
reasons were because The FED's were once told to drop the amount to #300 some time Last month.
but they didn't.
Assuming they dropped it then and U.S also raised their Interest Rate.
DO THE MATH.

If you're to pay, move in time and 1.6 Mill won't match what you're getting into.

Mine was FORM A,
But was billed at around #149.5
You never calculate Banks 1%
I don't understand wat u r trying to say, when did u pay? How much was the total in naira? N how much was it in Australian dollar?

In addition to what erictack203 has advised, make sure you have MORE THAN ENOUGH in your account. I understand that some banks e.g. Zenith Bank converts from Naira to USD and then to AUD before onward transfer to their intermediary bank (usually an Australian bank), who subsequently credits the University's account.
thanks FutureDon knew I could count on u guys, thanks again

Add about 150k to your Account, so that FX Dept will not say insufficient funds, giving the fluctuation in Dollars these days, it will be better to over fund the Account than it to be underfunded and delay your Transaction. The Process takes about 3days and you get your swift. After 3 different debits. 1st Bank is really fast and good in this.

They will convert the equivalent of Oz Dollars to USD and credit the School in USD and the Sch will re-convert to AUD. Sometimes, the School will be overpaid after conversion and you will be advised by the School with the Difference, also sometimes, they may be underpaid and they will ask you to pay the little difference once in Oz.

Goodluck!
thanks so much for this Eric

I commend the effort u all r putting here to help others, well done.

Pls I got an offer to study at the university of Newcastle, and in other to get my CoE I was told to pay aud$10,834. I plan to do that on Monday by the grace of God.

But this is where I need you guys to help especially those that have paid their fees using first bank form A.

I discovered from this thread that banks won't convert directly to Australian dollars for you. The official exchange rate for aud is 143 naira. I already credited my account with 1.6milion naira having it in mind that that will be enough to cover the acceptance deposit of aud$10,834.

pls in other not for me to jonze on Monday when I go to pay my fees, how is the transaction done? Wat exchange rate do they use? Is it Australian dollar or USD? If it's USD, will that 10,834 drop to the equilvalent of an Australian dollar to USD which is around USD7701?

Pls guys help me here, I need your advise thanks so much
