EngrHumble:
The Minister of Youth and Sports Development,
Mr Sunday Dare has relocated his office to the
MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

Dare stated that the move was in line with his
promise to ensure that the nation’s sports
facilities are restored to become fully functional.
He made the disclosure in a statement by Mr
Ramon Balogun, Assistant Director, Press in the
ministry.

He said that with the move, he has made good on
his earlier promise to keep a close tab on the
revitalisation of Nigeria’s sporting facilities.
“It is also a sharp departure from what has been
regarded as the norm in the past,” he said.

The Minister indicated that he will be working
sometimes days of the week from the stadium.
He asserted that the Youth and Sports ministry
was a critical artery to Nigeria’s human capital
development, adding, that 13 Ministries have
youth development as part of their budgets and
mandate.

The ministry according to him, will leverage on
the pivotal advantage expressed in the National
Youth Policy for the socio-economic
empowerment of our youths.

He emphasised the importance of communication
to youth and sports development while urging the
press unit of the Ministry to improve on its
professionalism by reporting events timely and
accurately with authentic and approved facts
before disseminating to the Nigerian public.
He also reemphasised his determination to give
the youth component of the ministry’s mandate
massive attention.

MetaPhysical:
Yahaya Bello pledging support for Lagos and candidacy of Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila.

All the SE members in House of Reps have homes or shops in Lagos, some have both. Instead of pleding support to the interest of Lagos, they are the most outspoken, the drum majors attacking Hon. Gbajabiamila and threatening to spoil his election into Speakership. But they want slot in Lagos cabinet.

CelebritiesRe: Funmilayo RansomeKuti: 11 Things To Know About 1st Woman To Drive Car In Nigeria by jos123SAM: 9:59pm On May 02, 2019

1. Chief Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti, the first woman to drive a car in Nigeria, was a teacher, political campaigner, women's rights activist and traditional aristocrat in Nigeria.

2. She was an avid traveler. She had traveled to many countries around the world.

3. Prior to Nigeria’s independence - specifically during the Cold War – she traveled to the former USSR, Hungary and China, where she met Mao Zedong – the communist revolutionary.

4. Her trip to countries in the Eastern bloc angered the Nigerian colonialist government, as well as British and American governments.

5. In 1956, the government did not renew her passport because it was believed that her intention was to influence Nigerians, especially women, with communist ideas and policies.

6. She was also refused a U.S. visa because the American government alleged that she was a communist.

7. She was one of the delegates who negotiated Nigeria's independence with the British government.

8. She was a winner of the Lenin Peace Prize. The Prize was awarded by the Soviet Government to notable individuals, prominent Communists and supporters of the Soviet Union who were not Soviet citizens.

9. In February 1978, she was thrown down from the window of a 3-storey building (Kalakuta Republic) belonging to her musician son, Fela. This happened when a thousand military personnel stormed the building. She lapsed into a coma and later died on 13 April 1978, from injuries she sustained from the fall.

10. Sometime in 2012, to immortalize her, her picture was being considered to be on the proposed N5000 note. The Nigerian government later withdrew the idea for a N5000 note.
