ABUJA, Oct 21 (Reuters) – Nigeria has approved the sale of Exxon Mobil Corp’s onshore assets to Seplat Energy, the chief executive officer of the country’s upstream regulator said on Monday, more than two years after the $1.28 billion deal was first agreed. The sale had been under scrutiny as it awaited regulatory approval since it was first announced in February 2022. President Bola Tinubu said on Oct. 1 the deal would receive ministerial approval in a matter of days after getting clearance from the regulator. Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) CEO Gbenga Komolafe said on Monday at an event in the capital Abuja that the ministerial approval had been granted. Under the deal, Seplat will own 40% of four oil mining leases and associated infrastructure, including the Qua Iboe export terminal, and 51% of Bonny River natural gas liquids recovery plant previously owned by Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited, Exxon’s local unit. Oil majors operating in Nigeria – Africa’s largest oil exporter – have been retreating from onshore operations hampered by theft and sabotage, opting to focus future investments on newer and more lucrative deep offshore fields. In July the NUPRC approved the sale of onshore assets by Eni’s local unit to Oando and another from Equinor to new entrant Project Odinmim. The regulator offered in May faster approvals for pending asset sales by oil majors if they took responsibility for oil spills and compensated impacted communities rather than wait for authorities to apportion liability. https://www.cnbcafrica.com/2024/nigeria-approves-exxon-seplat-deal-after-more-than-two-years/ |
PaNnamdi:As someone who graduated from Uniben department of chemistry my advice to your kid bro is that he must talk to his course adviser. The standard in Uniben is that your carryover courses must be registered first before even your core and mandatory courses. It’s in the order of carryover > core courses > mandatory courses > electives. If he has enough credit space in his current session to accommodate his carryovers and other courses then he should go ahead and register them all. However, if there’s not enough credit space to do that he will eventually have to register them in the order I mentioned above. He may have one or two courses outstanding in that case. Those outstanding courses could fit into his 400level and 500level academic session provided he does not pick up anymore carryovers. He still has the potential to graduate without any spill over year if he can pick himself up and focus. Lastly, I’ll reiterate my earlier point. Let him seek the advice of his course adviser. |
Daddiyoo:Yeah, heard of bestcapitals dot net, you can check them out but always do your research before applying. |
TellMeTheTruth:If you are planning on investing in the crypto space, while now may be a good time to do so because of the current drop in prices, you must have it at the back of your mind that the money you are putting in might be a while before you begin to see good gains. So when you do buy whatever it is you want to buy, just take your mind off the money. In fact, one thing I personally do is pretend like I lost the money totally, this just helps me take my mind off it and give it the chance to yield good profits for me. Remember, investing in crypto only favors the hodlers. If you are looking for short term however I would advise you go into the DeFi crypto world. But then, you would have to seek extensive knowledge before hopping on any token because there are usually a lot of parameters and things to look out for (even I don't get the hang of it so I won't be of much help to you). |
Hey guys! I already posted this on the investment section and I thought to bring it here in case there are people here who are interested as well. So I came across this platform on telegram some months back. It's a crypto related telegram channel where we get a lot of benefits. Working arbitrage strategies, spot signals, futures signals etc. It's been pretty great honestly but what I want to focus on is the binance futures part of it. I'm not very good with technical analysis and price action and all the rest so I am still learning about them but in the mean time I do get my signals from this group and I would say so far they have been accurate at least 90% of the time and I'm not capping. The best part?It is completely FREE!!! So if you're familiar with binance futures or you have an interest in trading them I would really advise you get hooked up here too, you'll enjoy it. The second thing, there is an ongoing cryptocurrency trading tutorial. I mean, top unreal stuff, things you didn't know about the crypto world and how coins and tokens move. It started yesterday and you can join in. Since it is telegram, all the materials will still be availabe for your use. I'll share a link to the telegram channel so you can get the first hand information yourself. Seeing how nairaland frowns at sharing links, I chose to make things a tad bit easier for y'all. Use the link in my bio/signature/profile. It will take you to a small website I created, when you get there just click on the Get Started button, it'll take you directly to the telegram channel. Note, this is completely free and nobody will charge you a dime for anything, if anyone under any guise tries to ask you for money, that person is a scammer, run as fast as your legs can take you Wondering why I am sharing this? well someone introduced me to the group and it has been wonderful so I thought to share too. Also, the crypto space is big enough to accomodate us all, why hoard opportunities that could be useful? I'll attach some images from the most recent futures trade calls so you see what I'm talking about. Note: As a money management rule, do not trade with money you cannot afford to loose and also when taking trades, learn to never risk 100% of your total funds. Goodluck guys!!!

ElectronicMoney:Absolutely not. There would be no need for that. However, you are encouraged to not send any money to any member under any guise. It's just for learning and earning opportunities, anyone is welcomed there |
Lenny22:Absolutely, you can. It will take time like all good things but you will find your footing. With enough practice and some patience, you'll be glad eventually that you did. To advance your learning I would suggest honestly that you join a good crypto community on any social media (whatsapp, telegram, etc) where people trade all day and you'll get to see live action. If at all you plan on giving any kobo to any body you must be very wise about it as this is december period and a lot if scammers are on the loose. I can recommend a telegram community to you, it's sort of a closed group but its 100% free. I can't post links here but you can check my signature for the link. When the webpage opens just click on get started and you'll be redirected to the telegram group. Best of luck!!! |
Coinmarketcap is just for monitoring and keeping abreast with the crypto market. You cannot withdraw anything from there as you did not deposit anything there in the first instance |

A video of United Nations virtual meeting on financing for development in the era of COVID-19 and beyond, which held on Thursday among heads of states and government and seen by SaharaReporters, has quashed any form of doubt on what truly transpired at the event. Following a report by SaharaReporters that technical hitches prevented President Muhammadu Buhari from delivering his full presentation at the meeting, his Senior Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, took to Twitter to describe the news as fake. According to Shehu, nothing of such transpired as Buhari had a good outing. Garba Shehu ✔ @GarShehu The country's fake news factory, @SaharaReporters is at it again. President Buhari addressed the conference yesterday. We were there. We all saw it. However, contrary to Shehu’s claims, the full video of the virtual meeting obtained by SaharaReporters has indeed proven that President Buhari was knocked out of the meeting while still speaking after feeds from Aso Villa failed to get through to other participants of the important event. After waiting several seconds to see if Buhari will be able to reconnect with the virtual meeting co-convened by Canada and Jamaica without any success, the floor was given to the Prime Minister of Thailand, Prayut Chan-o-cha. But before being knocked out of the meeting by technical hitches, President Buhari had few minutes to highlight the impact of COVID-19 on African countries and how the situation was making it difficult for Nigeria to fund the 2020 budget. Most leaders of other countries including Ghana, who made presentations at the virtual UN meeting, were able to deliver their full speeches without similar problems.
