EVIDENCE AND CREATIONISM Creationists have developed an industry dedicated to poking holes in the evidence for evolutionary theory. Honestly, I would be excited if they succeeded because it could improve our understanding of the origin of species. But they won't succeed by dishonest quote-mining, denying we can understand anything if "we weren't there", claiming that known limitations in archaeological dating science means no dating techniques work, or proposing a gigantic, world-wide conspiracy. When Benjamin Franklin and others explained the causes of lightning, they didn't do it by picking holes in the God explanation--they brought compelling evidence and the God explanation became irrelevant. If creationists have a better explanation than science, let them bring their evidence. If it's good, evolutionary theory will become as irrelevant as the God explanation for lightning. But here is the problem. Creationists REFUSE to offer evidence. They won't even tell us what evidence would confirm or falsify creationism so we can look for it ourselves. You can't get blood from a stone because it has no blood. And you cannot get evidence from a creationist because he has no evidence. Creationism is irrelevant. |

We Have Lots Of Options In Attack – Rohr Cast Doubts Over Immediate Invitation Of Bournemouth Star Ibe Invitation https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/image-108.jpg The possible invitation of Bournemouth star Jordon Ibe to the Super Eagles of Nigeria won’t be as fast as many have expected with coach Gernot Rohr admitting that competition is stiff in the attack of the team. Ibe has indicated his willingness to play for Nigeria after initially snubbing overtures to play for the team, when he had his breakthrough at Liverpool. However will his decision has been hailed by some Nigerians, who view him as a positive addition to the firepower of the team, the coach says his inclusion will be based on merit. ” We have options in attack, and if Ibe is truly willing to play for Nigeria then he will also be a part of the options we have in attack. He is a good player but other players in his position are not doing bad as well”, Rohr told Owngoalnigeria.com. ” The idea is to select the best players for Nigeria at all time. We need our best legs to help our dream of going to the World Cup 2018, hopefully we will have the players we want for specific games”. http://owngoalnigeria.com/2017/01/11/we-have-lots-of-options-in-attack-rohr-cast-doubts-over-immediate-invitation-of-bournemouth-star-ibe-invitation/ |
Nigerian Players Are Talented And Easy To Coach – Rohr https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/image-50.jpg The coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr says players of Nigeria team are on the list of some of the most talented bunch he has handled as a manager. The Franco-German coach was appointed coach of Nigeria last year with a clear mandate to ensure that Nigeria qualifies for the World Cup 2018 in Russia. Rohr has handled the Eagles in three games, and has a perfect run after picking up victories in the three games against Tanzania, Zambia and Algeria respectively. While many has praised his tactical nous as part of the reason why the team is excelling in the World Cup 2018 qualifiers, where they are currently top of their group, the manager insist that it wouldn’t have been possible without his players. ” When you walk with the set of players that I have, they make your job easy. They are clearly in the list of one of the best bunch of players I have coached in my career. They are humble and easy to coach”, Rohr said to Owngoalnigeria.com during an interview at the Glo CAF Award gala. http://owngoalnigeria.com/2017/01/11/nigerian-players-are-talented-and-easy-to-coach-rohr/ |

Nigeria's biggest problem isn't corruption. It is the failure of institutions. Our institutions are built around personalities. As soon as that strong leader is replaced all their efforts are reversed in one night and we are back to square one. Absolutely gutted to learn that President Buhari has sacked the man that had the guts to bring transparency to NGO's including churches. |
Nigeria Have Stolen One Of Germany’s Brightest prospect In Fabian Senninger – German Journalist https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/image-40.jpg Owngoalnigeria.com contact in Germany Roland Mark says Super Eagles latest addition Fabian Senninger will be a big loss to Germany in the future. Fabian Senninger has pledged his international future to Nigeria ahead of Germany, the country of his birth and his father as he feels more at home with the national team of the country where his mother hails from. Although he is virtually unknown to many in Germany, Mark reckons that he belongs to a class of upcoming talented defenders in the country. ” Nigeria have stolen one of Germany’s brightest prospect in defence. Senninger has all it takes to be a world class defender in a year or two. ” He recently joined Hannover 96 on a professional deal from Nike Academy, but before then am well aware that he had a short trial with Burnley”, Mark told Owngoalnigeria.com. ” He is very quick, can play as a right or left full back because he uses both feet correctly, he started off as a defensive midfielder, so he can also play there. He was by far the best player at the Nike Academy during his time there”. |
Super Eagles Defender Troost-Ekong Scores Own Goal In Debut Game For Gent https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/image-41.jpg Super Eagles and Gent of Belgium defender William Troost-Ekong had an unofficial debut he won’t want to remember after scoring an own goal as his side fell 1-3 to Dutch side Willem II. The Nigerian was handed a start by coach Hein Vanhaezebrouck in the friendly tie alongside two other Nigerians in Anderson Esiti and Rabiu Ibrahim. Ekong’s afternoon was soiled when the 23 year old unfortunately diverted a harmless ball from Erik Falkenburg into his team’s net to give Willem II a 2-0 lead minutes into the second half. He was substituted shortly afterwards with the coach keen on giving all of the players he has on the bench a run out ahead of the restart of the Belgian league. Rabiu Ibrahim and Anderson Esiti were also substituted in the second half while Samuel Kalu made his debut following his move from AS Trencin. Meanwhile former Eagles forward Bartholomew Ogbeche was a second half substitute for Willem II. http://owngoalnigeria.com/2017/01/08/super-eagles-defender-troost-ekong-scores-own-goal-in-debut-game-for-gent/ |
Arsenal Loanee Kelechi Nwakali On Target Again For Dutch Side https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/image-42.jpg On loan Arsenal teen midfielder Kelechi Nwakali was among the goal scorers for his loan side MVV Maastricht in their first game of 2017 which they won 3-2 against Seraing of Belgium. The 18 year old scored his first goal for the team in their penultimate game of last year, netting in the 2-0 win against De Graafschap, a result that keeps their promotion dreams alive. Nwakali picked up from where he left off in 2016 when he fired in his side’s third goal from a quick counter attack with scores at 2-1 in favour of his side. After giving his side a 3-1 lead, he wasted two good chances to kill the game off as a contest before the second division Belgian side reduced the deficit to end the tie at 3-2. On a season long loan from Arsenal, he has so far made 11 appearances for promotion chasers MVV, where his performances have also earned him Man of The Match Award and rare reviews. http://owngoalnigeria.com/2017/01/08/arsenal-loanee-kelechi-nwakali-on-target-again-for-dutch-side/ |
HE'S LIKE A YOUNG VIERA - HOW LEICESTER CITY FANS REACTED TO NDID DEBUT ON TWITTER Leicester City £15m January signing Wilfred Ndidi made his debut for the team in their 2-1 win over Everton in the FA Cup. Ndidi was handed his first start by Manager Claudio Ranieri, despite the fact that he has only trained with the squad twice following the confirmation of his transfer from Genk of Belgium. Owngoalnigeria.com bring to you the reactions of fans of the club on twitter after his debut for the team, who are hoping he will fill the void created by the departure of French midfielder N’golo Kante. See Tweets. https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/image-35-279x300.jpg https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/image-36-246x300.jpg https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/image-37-242x300.jpg https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/image-38-206x300.jpg |
Icon4s:I didn't watch but followed on twitter. Every tweet about him showed he was impressive. Leicester city plays Chelsea on Saturday (6:30pm) so that's a good game to show the world he is the even better than Kante (like Colin Udoh has always been saying). |
Icon4s:Ndidi Wins BBC MOTM Award, Earns Praises From Everton Legend For Stellar Display https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/image-39.jpg Wilfred Ndidi has gotten his first recognition in English football after picking up the BBC Man of The Match award on his debut for Leicester City in their 2-1 FA Cup win over Everton. BBC Radio Live anchor Matt Elliot announced the 20 year old Nigerian as the man of the match shortly after the game, as he was particularly impressed by the speed at which he integrated into the Leicester squad despite having just two training sessions before the game. ” He’s slotted in and looked very impressive”, he said and his view was accepted by callers during the show as well as pundits who also saw the game. Former Everton forward Leon Osman who watched the game as an anchor for BBC as well was also impressed by Ndidi’s performance on his debut terming his display as superb. ” He did a real good job for a guy making his debut. He was superb, cool and very assured on the ball plus he covers lot of grounds. Am impressed”. http://owngoalnigeria.com/2017/01/09/ndidi-wins-bbc-motm-award-earns-praises-from-everton-legend-for-stellar-display/ |
THE AGE OF CELEBRITY... BUT AT WHAT COST?

ATHEISM OFFERS NOTHING TO ME... Atheism offers nothing to me It never has, and it never will It does not make me feel good Or comfort me It’s not there for me when I’m sick or ill It can’t intervene in my times of need It won’t protect me from hate or lies It doesn’t care if I fail or succeed It won’t wipe the tears from my eyes It does nothing when I’ve got nowhere to run It won’t give me wise words or advice It has no teachings for me to learn It can’t show me what’s bad or nice It’s never inspired or incited anyone It won’t help me fulfill all my goals It won’t tell me to stop when I’m having fun It’s never saved one single soul It doesn’t take credit for everything I acheive It won’t make me get down on bended knee It doesn’t demand that I have to believe It won’t torture me for eternity It won’t teach me to hate or dispise others It can’t tell me what’s right or wrong It won’t tell anybody that they can’t be lovers It’s told nobody that they don’t belong It won’t make you think that life is worth living It has nothing to offer me, that’s true But the reason atheism offers me nothing Is because I’ve never asked it to Atheism offers nothing because it doesn’t need to Religion promises everything because you want it to You don’t need a religon or to have faith You just want it because you need to feel safe I want to feel reality And nothing more So atheism offers me everything That religion has stolen before. --Richard Coughlan |
THE LEVEL OF WICKEDNESS... I have never seen criminals as wicked as Nigerian pastors. Even in a recession, pastors are asking people to pay all their January salary or income as first fruits. Recession plus January hardship is nothing to a Nigerian pastor as he asks people who have rent, children's school fees and feeding to pay for to donate all their incomes to him. Before it used to be the fraud of newly employed people donating their first salary to pastors, now it's everybody in the church being scammed of their first income. I wonder why the EFCC will not go after these fraudsters and criminals parading as pastors. |
safarigirl:WOW...even this can match Ronaldo's. What a leap! |
Icon4s: 1. Hmmm... the argument is that U17 players generally don't make the transition to the Super Eagles. And it is true all over the world. Not a lot of them are successful. It's not even a Nigerian matter. It's all over. My point is that Manu 's U17 set may turn out to be the most successful. So it's a subtle ploy to limit Manu's boys to the U17 World Cup. Manu's boys include those we know through his screening and camping. Those that played qualifiers for the African U17, Morocco 2013 and UAE 2013. 2. It's as if you've forgotten that I created the threads for the discussion of the Manu boys. That means I know them very well. It was Manu who discovered Ndidi. Obuh called Ndidi up for the U20 WYC after CAF disqualified him from the African U17 in Morocco in April 2013. Obuh called him in June 2013. Prior to that time, Ndidi had played qualifiers for African U17 in 2012. As you can see, he's a proper Manu boy. 3. Bros, Emmanuel Babayaro is regularly referred to as a former Super Eagles goalkeeper by the Press. Lemme give you a few links: http://saharareporterssport.com/tragedy-babayaro-brothers-lose-mum/ http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/12/hiv-coalition-reaches-18000-nigerians/ |
Icon4s:They are all Manu's boys. Manu brought them to the spotlight, same way we know the Siasia boys. TheGoodJoe is referring to those that are already in the Eagles. For what it's worth, if we qualify for the World Cup as it is, Alampasu will be mentioned as part of the team. Only one goalkeeper can keep at a time unlike other positions. In the future, Alampasu will be called a former Super Eagles goalkeeper. See? I say this set can be the most successful. We already have 5 bonafide members of the team in the Eagles. And the naysayers keep forgetting that the oldest among them is still 20 years old. We still have at least 10 more years to wait. So what's this dismissive attitude? |

...RELIGION IS NOT FAR FROM THERE Wherever you find adult humans in large numbers engaged in extreme foolish behavior such as handling live snakes with bare hands, drinking petrol, eating wild grass like goats, crawling and bleating like sheep, dancing and rolling in muddy water on major roads, mass suicide, kicking pregnant women in the tummy, slapping innocent girls in public, stripping people naked, burning people alive and drinking semen, religion is not far from there. When a large crowd including professors gather to listen to something stupid like 'There will be quite a large number of weddings this year', it is religion. |
komekn, look at this: "I keep asking him: 'When are you going to come and play for Nigeria?' and he jokes: 'Whenever you come and invite me I will play!" Mikel told Goal. "I think it is something that we would have to discuss.http://www.goal.com/en-ng/news/4078/exclusives/2016/10/08/28280932/aina-should-swap-england-for-nigeria-mikel |
komekn:There was a reporting quoting Mikel telling Aina to play for us. The boy was using Mikel to play kite. The ball is in his court. I think he thinks he has a future with England. Talk to him if you have access to him. |
safarigirl:This lady will not kill me. ![]() |
Petrobros:It's too early to judge. But even now, we have four Manu's boys in the Eagles right now: Iheanacho, Musa, Ndidi (he played qualifiers), and Alampasu. The fifth person is Isaac Success. We know it is injuries that have kept him out of Eagles camp. He's been invited already. So perhaps, this will be the most successful squad. |
Kog45:You have made too much sense. |
terzurum5:Enyeama likes drama too much. Why will Rohr lie against him exactly? Everyone knows he's been courting him since he became the coach of the Eagles, and not once did Enyeama respond positively to the news. We love you Vince, but it's time to retire in peace. We will continue to remember your great exploits. |
TheGoodJoe: I agree with the bolded. Apologies. You sef dey talk some things atimes ehn...Anyway, that's still not an excuse to be rude. Okay...so you agreed that Ndidi contributed very well in the aerial duels. Good. Would Musa have been able to do that? No. And it could have cost us. As regarding the Right back position, Rohr said Musa was rusty due to his lack of games. Even Mikel that just finished the Olympics playing all our games was removed around the hour mark because he was exhausted owing to his lack of games at Chelsea. Yet you say you are confident Musa who had being relegated to the 4th choice at his club would have done better. Are you a dibia? Rohr was in camp observing all his players. Remember that Musa played the training games in camp, Rohr must have seen something that made him uncomfortable during the training sessions(he's never hidden the fact that he likes Musa). He was just being pragmatic. He choose his players based on fitness and from the position of strategy and tactics for the difficult away match in tough Zambia. Yet you are telling us you are confident Musa would have done better. I ask again: You be dibia? |
TheGoodJoe:The Super Eagles is not a rehabilitation center. You cannot ask Nigeria to play players solely because you want clubs to buy them. Is that the way top football countries behave? Why didn't Italy continue calling Balotelli so that other clubs can buy him? Rohr is even helping him by talking to people and looking for a club for him. Is that not good enough? Even if Musa gets a club, he does not have an automatic shirt. Other players will be invited and all of them will compete in camp. This one no be anyhow team again o. |
