TheGoodJoe:

I can Confidently say Musa Mohammed would not play as bad as Ndidi when it came to playing the wing back role that day.

Saying we won deviates from the point. This is about Individual performance, not we won.
Nonsense...Rohr was in camp assessing the two players and he won the game away. He chose the player that contributed to the victory. No one knows what would happen ahead of time, so the talk that Musa would have played to instruction and outperformed Ndidi is rubbish talk. We won and Ndidi did his best.

Musa bombs forward, Ndidi does not. Ndidi is very solid in aerial duels (one of his very strong points according to the Man Utd scout) and in the later stages, he joined the centerbacks to keep out aerial balls. Musa Mohammed is not good in the air.

You can long matter...me I don't have time.

Indirectly Rohr is saying you have to prove yourself in your club before I consider you. Playing Ndidi instead of Musa was not due to experience but fear of musa being match rusty, they was no info in camp that told us Musa performed better than Ndidi in training
You are correct. As at the period of camp, there was no such news. Rohr said he was concerned Musa's rustiness might bite him if he played.

Eagles Boss Reveals Plans For Home Based Players, Request Videos Of All Best Players

https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/image-87.jpg

The future and chances of home based players in the team of Super Eagles has been clearly explained by the coach of the team Gernot Rohr.

Rohr who has been under fire from some section of the media over the lack of inclusion of Nigeria Premier League players in the Super Eagles, since taking over as coach revealed his local assistants have the duty to scout the best talents for him in the league.

He said Imama Amakapabo and Salisu Yusuf have both been mandated to send him videos of all the best players in the Nigeria league before a decision will be made on their possible inclusion.
“Our objective is to have young players. Players who are motivated, players who like their country and are honoured to represent their country. For the local players, I have my assistants, Imama (Amakapabo) who sends me videos of all the best players, which is why I am happy to have him in my staff”, Rohr said.

“Even when I don’t see a lot of the games, the chief coach Salisu Yusuf is on hand to give me important information. I listen to them and together we do the work because I cannot be everywhere. In the game against Algeria, we had five local players. I saw them in Spain and my assistants recommended them. I trust my assistants and I believe we have a good staff”.

Rohr - I'm Helping Musa Mohammed Look for a Club

https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/image-164.jpg

Turkish based Super Eagles defender Musa Muhammed would have to switch teams this January if he wants to keep his spot in the team.

Coach of the Nigeria senior team Gernot Rohr revealed that he is unhappy with Musa’s lack of playing time at high flying Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir , where he has only made three appearances. All in cup games.

Particularly on the look out for teams for the former captain of the Nigeria U-20 to help him gain enough playing time ahead of the resumption of the World Cup 2018 qualifiers.

In each national team you have players who can have problems in their clubs. I knew of this situation already in other countries, in Gabon, Niger and Burkina Faso. For example Alain Traorekina Faso. For example Alain Traore for Burkina Faso who didn’t play”, Rohr said will speaking on the inactivity of John Obi Mikel, Odion Ighalo and Ahmed Musa for their respective English teams.

“So this situation is not new for me. Now the January transfer window is open which means these players can change clubs. I had contact on Tuesday morining with one of our players in Turkey. So what we want to do now is help him find a club. Of course our job is also to help players to play or change clubs, to give good information to managers in order to make things work.

“We had problems with the right-back position and the player who is expected to play there, Musa Muhammed, has to change clubs too. When I don’t have players playing, I try to find those who are playing. Players are everywhere even those with double nationality.

Rohr has been an excellent coach so far.

However, limiting your pool of talent to leagues with one of the smallest talent pools of Nigerians is not wisdom. in reality, it shouldn't be his job alone the NFF should be taking the lead on this.

I reiterate the English leagues have the largest pool of Nigerian players outside Nigeria. There is almost no premiership team you will not find at least one Nigerian player in most cases it's a over 5 from age 16 up.
I agree with all you said except the NFF part. NFF's involvement has always being rife with unwholesome acts. There are other ways to call Rohr's attention to other places...this thread is one of them.

You are narrowing your talent pool to just two players.

Big clubs have big money and very very little patience success is needed now not tomorrow. If you cannot produce the trophies required you are out. Guardiola needs immediate success he has no loyalty to any player he has one loyalty and that is SUCCESS at all costs.

For the first time in his managerial career he is not in 1 or 2 horse race. Kelechi is not a world class striker to produce the results he needs, he may indeed become but right now it's going to be tough for him.
I agree that I am narrowing it down to two players...and that's because Rohr seems to like Victor, while we know Kelechi already. Anyway, I believe there is still a lot of water that will pass under the bridge.

Which Chisom is 29?
Chisom was poached by Rangers from Ingas academy at just 19 in 2013.
You can do the maths to figure out his age.
Infact if you must know, his parents signed a consent form before when signed for Rangers.
When he made his debut, people were shocked how such a small boy was playing for Rangers. Chisom didn't add a day to his age. You just have to belive me.
Tell his people to update his profile then. I got this online

As good as Nwobodo is, it appears Chisom Egbuchulam doesn't get enough mention on this thread.
I hope we aren't getting to carried away with foreign born players to the detriment of home grown lads. It will be a shame if that's the case.

Chisom for my money is the real deal. If he was born abroad he will be mentioned in the same light as Mbappe and Dembele.
The guy is the real definition of a modern wide foward.

With the recent partnership between the LMC and La liga, I felt the MOU should cover some areas like the best player in the league going to train with top La liga teams in view of getting a contract.
It would be ridiculous if Chisom ends up in Tunisia. His game has gone beyond the African continent in my opinion.
I know you are a Rangers fan so your comment can be excused. I say the Tunisian deal is probably the best he can get for a 29-year old striker. The only reason I'm in for Nwobodo is because he is still young, I won't bother even if he is 27. Chisom is in his last stages as a footballer, especially when you consider that for lack of MRI, his real age cannot really be ascertained.

From the little I know about Rohr, he seems not to care where you play as long as you produce results. Therefore, if he was indeed better than the other boys during the Zambia-Nigeria camp, he would have played. He would even have been invited for the Algerian game.

I say we look further ahead.

Well i don't know his age or know him very well coz of recent i don't have d opportunity of watching Nigeria league coz am not in d country but it was from this thread i read a lot about him.
About Nwobodo, I don't think anyone is saying he should have an automatic shirt in the Eagles. He is a player that has proven himself wherever he goes. From U20 to U23. He was also one of the best players when Enugu Rangers won the Nigerian League last season. I can tell you that he is impressive.

What those who know him well are saying is that he should be given an opportunity to slug it out with the other guys in the national team. Sometimes ehn, opportunity is all it takes. I was reading what that Man Utd scout said about Ndidi at Nath Boys, it's all about him being at the right place at the right time. We have better players than him in the grassroots all over Nigeria.

For Nwobodo, an opportunity to compete with his countrymen in Camp is not too much. Same happened to Sunday Mba and Godfrey Oboabona under Keshi.

Rohr Slams Eagles Door On Enyeama – I Called Him Over 10 Times And He Never Responded Nor Call Back

Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr has given up on trying to convince former goalkepper Vincent Enyeama to come out of retirement and play for Nigeria.

Rohr ruled out any future contact with the Lille man after revealing that the 33 year old appears to have made up his mind to stick to his international retirement.

The Franco German coach said he tried reaching out at Enyeama when they had a goalkepper crisis before the game against Algeria, but Enyeama failed to take his calls and didn’t return them later.

” When we had crisis in our hands after Carl Ikeme’s injury, I called him (Enyeama) over 10 times and he never responded nor called back”, Rohr said to Owngoalnigeria.com.

” I am happy with how Daniel Akpeyi responded to the test when he was called up as emergency cover, but he needs to buckle up because we can’t solely depend on Ikeme”.

I always love pundits that are precise in their analysis and u are one of them here on nairaland. My question is this,is success better than Ideye when w talk of national team, club football, experience and injury history.

Firstly, national team d two should not be compared.Ideye has made is mark in d national team(afcon 2013)his contributions in that tournament was superb and enormous, though he lost his place in d team but later earned a recalled due to his current form but national team experience nothing can be said of Success.

Club football,i know a lot w said Ideye couldn't make it in EPL but forgetting w have a lot of super stars like de Maria,Baloteli, veron,Shevchenko that failed woefully in Premiership.Apart from being flopped at west brom,Ideye has been a good striker in his various club sides. He had a better club goal ratios than success, though injuries did not help success.

I don't know why w are clamouring for injury prone striker as d answer to eagles striking position. No doubt Success has d talent,d skill,d strength and pace but goal ratio is not d solution and to make matter worst very prone to injury and no coach w bank on injury prone player.Pls ask Anichebe,if not for injuries that hampered his football career and still hampering it,i w rate him than any other present Eagles strikers but i cannot pick him coz is injury prone.

I w never forget what happened during u17 that Awoniyi needs to come in for injured Success and salvaged d situation, success injury nearly ruined our chances at d tournament and till today d guy is still battling with injuries.

The question is this do w need to bank on injury prone player and to make d matter worst w are even rating him higher than players who have showed us what they can do in d national team.

Iheanacho rise in d national team doesn't gives player like success an automatic shirt in d national team coz in this thread w have been hearing Nwakili,Osimihen,Nwobodo, pls national team are not for kids but super kids like Iheanacho,Iwobi,Ndidi who proved to us they have it all to slug it out with big boys.

I remember against Algeria d big boys raised to d occasion to save us namely Mikel,Moses and Musa when he came in

A free injury Success should prove himself at Watford first b4 national team.
If I tell you that Success is my favourite player in the U17 2013 set, you may not believe. Personally, I believe he would have scored more goals than Osimhen did if he played fully in UAE. He's very good.

BUT he is not reliable. From the little I have gathered about him in Watford, his lifestyle is not the type that will make him be at the optimum. I remember the first picture I saw with him and Ighalo, and I commented that I sincerely hope that Ighalo will influence him to be more of a professional. I think he has become worse. He is overweight and I doubt he cares about diet. I just checked his injury history and contrary to what thought, it wasn't as bad in Granada. From 2014-2016, he missed just 8 games to injury. In just 6 months at Watford, he has missed 13 games (and counting) to injuries. Something is wrong somewhere. I know Walter Mazzari is not an intense trainer, heck I don't know any Watford player that gets injured this way.

If he applies himself, he can play for the best of clubs in Europe. But he needs to apply himself, quit spending all that time on snapchat, and get in shape as a footballer. Focus is key for any youngster. Talent means nothing without application. Balotelli is a good example.

it is the narrator or diviner or babalawo that is saying that..GOD according to the old testament is not a man..
Unfortunately, you don't know your Bible well enough. First, according to the Bible, Yahweh inspired the whole of the Christian scriptures. They wrote what he wanted them to write.

Second, Jesus, who I perceive you believe to be Yahweh and his son at the same time said this in Mark 10:18, "And Jesus said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone."

Yahweh himself said in Exodus 33:19, "God said, "I'll cause all my goodness to pass before you, and I'll proclaim the name "the LORD' before you. I'll be gracious to whom I'll be gracious, and I'll show compassion on whom I'll show compassion."(ISV)"

About jealousy, it was Yahweh who proclaimed himself to be jealous. Check Exodus 20:5 "You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me..."

See? Yahweh has human emotions.

Kelechi Iheanacho plays as a hitman. It is easier to express yourself in any other role but nine. Even Aguero is having it difficult posting dribbles and passing rate.

The cagey games are too much. Iheaacho has a brillianr goal to game ratio if you want scoring. However, he brings in more to the team when you consider his role as a forward.

For instance, he is the only forward who keeps pressure on the defenders and gives room for the midfield players to cause problem for City.

Takes me back to the Algeria game. Iheanacho did not score and many tried running him down. It took the Algerian coach and Journalist to point it out before people calmed down.

Iheanacho's pressing is phenomenal. His work rate is outstanding. These are things Iwobi can not bring to the team. This is harder than staying in the midfield and stringing passes.
How you cannot see how certain critical things are being coached out of Kelechi leaves me stunned. Go ahead and watch the U17, EDS and City pre-season games, and you will see a player who could lay the passes, wriggle around and who players look up to play them into games. That's gone now. City is only interested in him scoring goals and nothing more. When Pep emphasized the goal-scoring part in one of his interviews, I knew the game was up. And that's why when he doesnt score, Pep quickly removes him and put in someone else.

Pellegrini never did that. He gave him minutes when there was no other option. People could say that Pelegrini preferred Bony and that's true, but when he had no other striker options, he always trusted Kelechi. Not so for Pep...even with no other striker available, Pep prefers a winger to Kelechi...and on occasions he plays Kelechi as we saw in the last game, he has not patience when he does not deliver the only thing he expects from him.

I made points about Iheanacho. Very clearly written. If you disagree it any thing, point it out.
Let me ask you: What special thing is Guardiola doing with this team that has been unheard of in the EPL? Frankly, I have not seen much improvement in Kelechi's game. Watch Kelechi in Pelegrini's games vs Pep's games, and clearly you see that he made more progress all-round last season. All this praise for Pep in Kelechi when there is not much to show for it baffles me.

Religion created those stories to control large human populations.
Please don't take my words for it. Here are verses from the Bible about Yahweh having all these attributes:

God is good:

- "Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever" (Psalm 107:1).

All these proves that Yahweh has human emotions.

- "Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him" (Psalm 34:cool.

God is jealous:

- "for you shall not worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God" (Exodus 34:14).

- "They made Him jealous with strange gods; With abominations they provoked Him to anger" (Deuteronomy 32:16)

Oyedepo prophecy 2017 basically says give me your money or you will suffer. How is this a good thing....how is this man a good personhuh
-----------------------
Oyedepo said this on Tuesday during the opening session of the annual Shiloh programme of the church in Ota, Ogun State.

His words: “It looks tough presently but it’s going to get tougher in the days to come. Obedience to the terms of covenant will put you in total command (meaning tithes and offering). When all your obedience is fulfilled, all opposition is brought down”

Alluding to the Bible, the respected Bishop said that recession was not a new phenomenon, urging the audience to be committed to God to overcome the financial challenges.

“However, from scriptures, all the children of the covenant, who walk according to biblical truth will always enjoy exemptions from the gross darkness and evils plaguing the world,” he said.

RANDOM VOICES IN THEIR HEADS

One charlatan thinks the recession will end in 2017. The other one thinks it will worsen to a depression. Which data did they base their prediction on? None whatsoever. Just the voices in their heads which millions of Nigerians believe is the voice of the same deity.

It hasn't occurred to these Nigerians yet to ask why the same deity would give two prophets contradictory messages. Of course, it will never occur to them, just like it never occurred to them to ask why there had been two contradictory books, and two groups of religionists that are always at loggerheads, in the first instance.

Let us hope Nigerians will do their religions with some more sense in 2017, and focus on what is important, for once.

I huh?? Isaac over Ideye? Never!!!

I'd stick with Ideye that has a we of keeping ours spectator blood pressure down a lil than a success that hasn't gotten a chance to prove himself in English top flight.
Right now...I take Ideye over Success. Success seems to have a problem with injuries. I saw some Watford fans lamenting his injuries. I wonder how it seems to be like that.

When he gets over his injuries and proves himself, then I will take him over Ideye.
