a kind of matter that is still elusive to our understanding mainly for the fact that we can't even see it.

Let me ask: How do we quantize gravity? Also, what exactly is Dark Matter and in what ways can humans use this information? |

A friend sent me this article written by his friend. Enjoy!THE WISDOM OF A FATHER
My father never believed in ramming religion down the throats of children.
Attending church on Sundays was a family tradition, and we always tried to be on time at Mass.
But that was it. My dad would tell us that education was much more important than religiosity. Hustling to be in church everyday was a poor use of time, especially for young people.
My mother would ask me if I was interested in accompanying her to some religious service during the week.
I would simply say no.
I had other things to do.
She would not try to impose her views on me. We understood each other.
It was at home that I learned that it was crucial to build a solid academic foundation, and to read widely, as no knowledge is a waste.
Pop would tell us that when we become adults, we could spend every day of every week in church if we wished. By that time, that would be our own headache, not his. His own job of raising responsible kids would have been accomplished.
All the talk of sin and hellfire and heaven should not concern kids learning the beauty of mathematics and biology, and the habit of reading. Reams of plain A4 sheets were always avaliable, and thoughts readily found expression on flawless paper.
The old man believed that aiming to become a pastor in future showed a lack of grit and ambition.
Nowadays I see many families where religion is put ahead of education. It is scary seeing many bible thumping kids and young people who cannot think. That is the sort of thing that pissed off the old man.
One wonders what time youths devote to real learning these days. Who would even blame them when their parents are the type that show up every Wednesday to hear the same miracle message from Father Mbaka?
Today, pentecostal pastors are riding in luxury cars and flying shiny private jets. Kids now get to take home fictitious grades they never earned.
Parents condone it. Society teeters on the edge of collapse. Who can turn back the hands of time? |

-Just how important are we in this universe?
More important than the stars? Without the stars we won't be here but without us they were, are and will be.
More important than the plants ? without them we won't be here but without us they were, are and will be.
So how exactly are we more important, why do we prize ourselves the most important part of the cosmos when we are so deplorable and expendable that the cosmos won't even notice our disappearance. Lovely stuff. I was thinking about these lines this morning, this occurred to me, and I thought to bare my thoughts:
We are the most important part of the cosmos from our frame of reference. From your frame of reference, the universe ends when you're dead. Someone might say it is not a very objective way to look at it. That it's exactly how the universe did not end after the extinction of the dinosaurs. And the person will be right. Yes, it is indeed very objective. Else we will find ourselves dealing with the infinitely large picture of what's more important.
If it's not us, and it's not all living things, and it's not earth, and it's not our solar system, neither is it the Milky Way, we'll get to a point where even the universe as we know it is not important enough... Then what if there's something beyond the universe?
So what's important? |

francis247: Watched the video. The comparison is totally baseless. 1. The armed rubber did not give her the money and therefore has no right to demand of it from her in that manner unlike God who gave us life (and He is not putting a gun to our heads directly of indirectly to use it as it pleases Him or be dammed anyways). Which life did God give us? How did he give us?2. God does not give us ultimatum like the armed robber, neither does He say believe in me or I send you to hell. He is saying believe in me, believe I can save you or the devil lays claim to your soul and does as he pleases. The devil sends people to hell for doing his will (the devil). It's a matter of reward. You don't work for one man and expect to be rewarded by another. God rewards his workers and so does the devil, they just have different ways of doing it. When someone dies, the devil tries to lay claim to the soul whether or not the soul is for him to reward, while God does same if the soul is for Him to reward as well. It's like an exam, only those whom have written well pass and get promoted (all things being equal of course(rewarded). Those who fail depending on the extent to which the fail are not promoted, while some are demoted and some are no more allowed to remain in the institution (punished). As for why God created the devil. He did not create him. The devil is a manifestation of the other side of good just like there is no fake until there is an original, just like there was no computer virus until computers came into existence. And as for God not destroying the devil since he is all powerful and Omnipotent, it's like saying that God should kill a spirit. A spirit is indestructible, just like viruses and fake versions of an original are inextinguishable until and unless the place of habitation of the virus or the original of the fake is extinguished. If he does not give us ultimatums, how come he is insistent that we surrender our lives before we die? Isn't that an ultimatum?3. Finally, unlike the scenario painted in the video, God has has given us a choice. To blame the case of a sinner ending up in hell on God, is like blaming a parent who has provided for his teenage child, warned the him/her against stealing, only for the child to go out there and steal, gets caught in the act, the offended party reports to the authorities and the law takes its cause. Now remember I'm referring to a teenager here, let alone an adult old enough to reason very well and make life changing decisions on his own. Except that in this case, the offended party, the authorities and the law is one person, God.
If you have a child and warn the child not to touch a plate in the house, would you beat the child CONTINUOUSLY if he does. Here, the continuous emphasis is used to depict how Christians say a sinner will burn forever in hell. |

PastorAIO: Have you never heard of the imputation of righteousness? That means that the rest of your life can be dark as sin itself but as far as God is concerned you smell of roses. LOL. I am aware of the concept of eternal salvation and Christ being made our own righteousness. For instance the following verses speak of that:
Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness,
1 Corinthians 1:30 But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption.
While those are valid, these ones show something interesting:
Romans 6:14 Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law.
1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
1 John 3:9 No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God.
1 John 5:18 We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the One who was born of God keeps them safe, and the evil one cannot harm them. |

.............................................................................................
Siasia picks 8 foreign pros for Korea tourney
https://africanfootball.com//bp_images/2016/05/Samm_31_July_3_150x150.jpg
Nigeria U23 coach Samson Siasia has named eight overseas-based professionals including Liverpool forward Taiwo Awoniyi and Nathan Oduwa for Tottenham Hotspur on a final squad for the Suwon Invitational Tournament in Korea.
The list is dominated by players who featured against the Brazil U-23 in a friendly in that country two months ago, which Nigeria won 1-0, while two new faces Emiloju Julius and Abdulrahman Taiwo break into the team, and winger Saviour Godwin also makes a return to the team after a long absence.
Addressing the players after a friendly on Thursday at the practice pitch of the National Stadium, Abuja, Siasia charged those selected for the trip to see it as an honour.
"That you were selected does not mean that those not selected are not good. We simply want to give everyone enough opportunity to justify why they should be part of the team to the Rio Olympics," he said.
The delegation of 20 players and 10 officials will be led by NFF executive committee member and chairman of the NFF media and publicity committee, Suleiman Yahaya-Kwande.
The team are expected to depart Nigeria for Korea Republic on Monday, 30th May aboard an Ethiopian Airline flight, and arrive in Seoul on Tuesday.
THE TEAM: Goalkeepers: Emmanuel Daniel, Yusuf Mohammed Defenders: Emmanson Daniel, Sincere Seth, Ndifreke Effiong, Segun Oduduwa, Stanley Amuzi, Julius Emiloju, Erhun Obanor.
Midfielders: Saturday Erimuya, Azubuike Okechukwu, Usman Mohammed, Stanley Dimgba, Sodiq Popoola, Saviour Godwin.
Forwards: Taiwo Awoniyi, Ubong Ekpai, Abdulrahman Taiwo, Nathan Oduwa, Tiongoli Tonbara.

TheGoodJoe:
The explanation is simple. As long as he is doing his best. You and I know Coach Siasia will never call Anichebe. That is why it was a funny question in the first place.
Coach Siasia has released his Suwon Tourney list and he never hinted at Anichebe.
The list is out and as long as Coach Siasia is doing his best, I support him. No matter who it chooses. I might not like it but as long as he is doing his best, it is okay.
Just like I never liked the Fabian Delph, Sterling and Bony buys. I felt we the Cityzens wasted money. Yet, I am okay because I believe Coach Pellegrini was doing his best. He's released the list? Let me go see.
As an aside, does anyone know if Supersport or any of our terrestrial channels will show the Super Eagles' match? |

Like I try to explain. As long as the coach is convinced he is making the right choices, then I am okay with that. We want the coaches to do their very best. Sometimes we will not be okay with it.
If Coach Siasia said he wants Anichebe for what so ever reason, as long as he is convinced in his heart, then he is doing what we need from Coach Siasia. His best to the best of his knowledge. So despite Anichebe's poor performance last season, you would not mind it if Siasia calls him for Rio? No problem. Like forgiveness said, as long as Siasia trusts his family members, they should represent us at the Olympics. Nothing spoil. |

If we must know one hundred percent about what Coach Siasia plans before talking, do you think any of us will make contributions?
I gave you my reason why I feel players like Taiwo Awoniyi and Godwin Saviour made the list without major breakthroughs in big clubs.
If you disagree, you can state why.
I do not need to be in Mourinho's mind to know that he would not need Ryan Giggs in his locker room.
I might be wrong but Giggs has so much power and respect in the locker room of Manchester United for Mourinho to feel comfortable with Giggs around. We will wait and watch. Should I come back to tease you if he retains Ryan Giggs? |

TheGoodJoe: Was Godwin Saviour picked based on matches played? He is one of the young promising talents. When it is coming to pick Senior players, it will be based on experience.
So that is why bringing Anichebe into the argument is funny.
Let me just give a past instance of a young promising player on the bench.
In 2009, Giovani Dos Santos was on the bench of Tottenham with little playing time. When it was time for the Mexican Coach the select his National side for the CONCACAF Gold Cup, he put Giovani Dos Santos on the list.
Giovani Dos Santos was not just a good player in the competition. He was the star player of the Tournament. Won the MVP award.
Picking a promising young player takes different criteria to picking up experience players. All these details are irrelevant and unnecessary. You are not Siasia, therefore do not 100% know the reason he picked Godwin. I am throwing up a hypothetical scenario whereby he picks Anichebe. You cannot say it is impossible for him to be picked unless you have sat down with him and he has told you pointblank that he will not pick him.
The question I asked you was if you would support Siasia if he picks Anichebe for the Rio olympics. It's a simple question. Why you are throwing up all manner of words together befuddles me. |

FINALLY, PROOF OF CREATIONISM
Yesterday, Professor Ap' Cryphal, the lead archeologist digging at a location outside of Basra, Iraq announced a discovery that will stun the world. The secret dig, involving more than 250 archeologists and scientists over 20 years, has finally found what millions have long expected.
Dated from almost 10,000 years ago, the team has unearthed a rich seam of bones, fossils and timbers. They have found every life form known to man, including thousands of extinct species. The list of finds includes prokaryotic and eukaryotic bacteria, fish, amphibians, plants, tree, insects, reptiles, birds and mammals.
A rich array of mammals has been found including primates and Hominidae.
Two finds particularly stand out and cast grave doubt on modern theories of evolution. The first is a fully-human, adult femur and cranium that experts say must be from a human male exceeding 2.4 metres (8.5 feet) tall.
The second is a range of bones that have been definitively identified as coming from Deinonychus, Apatosaurus and Tyrannosaurus rex. Astonishingly, the well-preserved T rex jawbone shows not the sharp teeth of a carnivore but the blunt grinding teeth of a vegetarian.
Dating shows that all these specimens were laid down within a period of 1,000 years from 9,600 years ago. Finds stop abruptly at this point--no life at all can be found earlier than this. Professor Cryphal's final words will echo throughout history. He said, "This site conclusively proves that evolutionary theory is false. But this find does not just move science forward, it proves something else as well. We have found the Garden of Eden. We have proved Genesis is true."
.....
Of course, this story is fiction. It never happened but, if creation were true, sites somewhat like this would be found all over the world. In fact, we have never, ever found such a site. Everything we find shows a gradual evolution of species over billions of years.
Everything we have found shows Biblical creation to be false.

If you can't answer a simple question, then it's better I let go of the discussion. In any case, I have already agreed with you that Siasia is the Almighty. His decisions cannot be questioned. |

When we talk of Awoniyi and Saviour, we are talking of two promising future talents of the country.
What is Anichebe's level, promising past talent? You didn't answer my question. If Siasia calls up Anichebe and says he fits his criteria as one of the overaged players based on the work he has done with him in the past, will you be opposed to it?

Beijing '08 is eight years ago. This is last year. Secondly, after that, Godwin worked with Coach Siasia already.
His selection is based on what he can bring to the team. Players have different styles of playing. Coach Siasia probably thinks the guy has not faded.
Remember C. Nwakali on bench for a long time. Never played once. It was not that Nwakali was not good but the coach did not like him. He left to Norway and he picked up in a short time. What's the difference? Anichebe still played few league matches for West Brom this past season. He definitely featured more than Saviour. Are you saying that you won't support Siasia if he calls Anichebe to the Olympics? |

TheGoodJoe: This was the kind of news we got of Godwin Saviour by this time last year.
I do not think one year is enough for us to talk of him reviving his career. It is a chance to prove himself. How did you dig this out? :-O
In any case, that proves my point. Invite players to the national team based on present form. Saviour was hot in 2015 and without sentiments, we all hailed him and thought he more than deserved his place in the team.
There is no point in coaches shouting and urging players to work hard at their individual clubs if they already know the players they would choose.
It is not transparency to ask Anichebe to come to camp for Rio based on his performance in Beijing 2008. I'm really surprised that you're about the only person who doesn't understand this. |

forgiveness: He should likely bring in one of his close relative to the team then, since he can see something from a player that has played nothing.
Afterall, he has seen them closely from the family's dinner table and Family home. I think that is better than the once in while hotel and a particular training location.
Don't you think so? Hahaha...this is too funny.
Guy relax na...Siasia knows the players that fit his plans. Even if they have not played for two years, as long as they are not in the hospital, they must go to the olympics. Those players are the only ones born with football and they are the only ones that can do well in Rio. All those fit players who have performed in the past season are not good for Nigeria...they are just good for the top European clubs they play for. Nigeria is a different place that needs different tactics that the world does not know about.
