CHRISTIANS, WHAT IS YOUR ADVANTAGE?

I often don't understand Christians and their beliefs. It's impossible to have a rational debate with many of our religious friends because they will ALWAYS find excuses to rationalise their beliefs.

Yesterday, I stumbled on an article on the internet where the respected Pastor Sunday Adelaja who leads the largest Pentecostal church in Europe confessed to having sexual relations with over 30 women in his congregation. See HERE

In his defence, I saw so many Christians calling for restraints and telling people who condemned him to realise that Pastors are humans who are subject to failings of the human flesh. But it kept me wondering about the irony of it all.

Isn't that convenient! I like how in trying to make excuses for these Pastors when they show their true selves, believers are always quick to admit suddenly that they are humans. Well, maybe you all should start treating them like one and stop being their sheep. When you were giving them your money for their lies, they were divine....when they tell you when and what to eat or wear, they were divine....but when they are caught pants down....you suddenly remember that they are humans and ask that they be pardoned for being human.

These are the same people who proselytise from door to door and refer to those of us who reject their message as sinners. They say that if we accept Jesus into our lives, he will give us the power to overcome sin and to live sin-less lives. These guys are worse offenders because they sin as much as the rest of us but they lie about this and project an aura of moral uprightness.

My question to them is - what is the advantage of giving my life to Jesus if your lives are as sinful as mine? What's the point of Jesus' death if Christians cannot overcome sins?

You claim that Jesus gives power over sins but why does this not stop you from sinning? And, if you admit that accepting Jesus into your lives doesn't stop you from sinning then on what basis do you invite others to give their lives to Christ?

I mean, what does this actually do for you? I ask because devout Christians experience illnesses, infertility, loss of jobs, divorces, untimely death and so on as much as everyone else.

Seeing as Christianity does not immune you from misfortune nor does it make you to be more moral than everyone else, what then is the advantage of submitting yourselves to its irrational doctrines?

To conclude, the point has to be made - religions and their gods do not make people moral. They give people a feeling of righteousness and a sense of entitlement to call others sinners whilst all the while being full of sh!t!

FOUR FACTS AND A QUESTION

Fact 1
There are 19 religions in the world with over 1 million adherents and hundreds of smaller religions. These religions have such variant beliefs that, at best, if one is true, all the others must be false. At worst, they could all be false since not one of them has any good evidence that they are true.

Fact 2
Almost all religions require adherents to believe fantastical things such as invisible beings, magic, eternal life or reincarnation.

Fact 3
There are 7.1 billion people on the planet and 84% of them (6 billion people) profess belief in a religion.

Fact 4
Human beings have, by far, the most developed reasoning brain and sophisticated communication skills in the entire animal kingdom.

Question
How come?

Siasia took Osaze Odemwengie to Beijin in 2008 but kept him on the bench for most of the time, allowing Obinna Nsofor and Chinedu Ogbuke do their thing.

My own is let us not even invite him(Ighalo) at all. Where i have concerns more now is in the CB positions and DMF. Omeruo, hu would have been an underaged bt very experienced CB, has been ruled out.And I dnt know if Siasia has plans of inviting Leon Balogun. U may say Awaziem is there bt I would have prefered a more tested and proven CB pair. As d case may b now we would need a very experienced DMF like Mikel hu can effectively shield our CB making them less prone to attacks and hence mistakes.

We dnt have problems with our attack.
Was Osaze ever a Siasia boy? Osaze was in top form then but was dropped for Nsofor and Ogbuke who were Siasia boys.

That's the difference. Ighalo is a Siasia boy. I need someone to convince me how Siasia will drop Ighalo for Success.

Christianity EtcRe: My Thoughts And Questions About Religion by joseph1013(op):
HUSH, GOD IS SLEEPING

The biblical creation story is so flawed that some Christians try to find excuses for it. They say, the universe WAS created in 6 days but they were not literal days. They were days of millions or billions of years.

Does this make it better?

The Bible says the Earth was the first thing created but it wasn't—the Earth was created more than 9 billion years after the universe.

The Bible says God created a dome over the Earth (the firmament) to separate the oceans from the rain. This implies a flat Earth and no such dome exists.

To match the elapsed time since the beginning of the universe, a biblical creation day would have to be 2.3 billion years long which brings its own problems—like grass, plants and trees being created billions of years before the sun…

But there is one way in which this idea is an improvement. The story says God rested on the seventh day. Since a day is 2.3 billion years, God must still be resting and will rest for another two billion years or so. Now THAT does help—that perfectly explains why we see no sign of God in the universe.

If these guys' actions is causing blackout across the country and groups in the Delta are constantly seen daring the government by blowing up huge pipelines supply gas to power stations and cutting our crude oil supply to the international market, with the poor technical skills of our military in crisis combat, then it is not a surprise to me that these things would happen.

Here are national newspapers reporting about the hostile behaviour of the indigenes to developments in the area:

Correct but really Nigeria is merely a Federal State on paper not in actuality.

There is always Igbo land, Hausa land, Ijaw Land, Yoruba land..

A man from the south living in the north is seen as an immigrant living in a HOST community.

Is that federalism?
That's true in daily conversation but not backed up by the federal charter. In my experience, it's used by those at the top to divide the people for their own selfish gains.

If the Federal government deploys the military to stop the vandalism of oil pipelines that is causing blackout all over the country, how could a group order the FG out of its land? Makes no sense.
PoliticsRe: Nigerian Army, Get Out Of Our Land: Ijaw Youths by joseph1013: 8:54am On May 20, 2016
But according to the constitution, the Federal government owns all lands in the federation. So what lands are they talking about?

A friend from the Niger Delta was telling me that there is no road linking his community to land, his people must travel by speed boat to go home.

There was a time the government was almost ready and serious about connecting the village to land. That's a form of development and a welcomed idea right? Interestingly, his brothers in the community who took arms in the name of fighting for their development and against their marginalization demanded 50 million before the commencement of such project and that was a grand opening and grand closing of a project we longed for. It was dead on arrival

So whenever this guy reads people claiming that these people are fighting for his community's development, his kind wish is that they choke on their imagination and also wish the terror these individuals bring to his communities in the name of development extends to their communities too.

EVIL SPIRITS LIVE IN THE MIND

Charles spent his early years in a community where adults kept the kids quiet partly by warning them to either take heed or incur the wrath of evil spirits. Invoking God and Heaven was simply not enough motivation for kids to stay indoors when parents left for the Saturday morning market (not shopping).

First time he and his siblings saw the movie Living in Bondage (starring Kanayo O. Kanayo), they needed company to visit the bathroom. That shi.t instilled the fear of the devil in them.

Many nights he woke up suddenly, drenched in his own sweat, screaming "blood of Jesus" like Christians do.

Those nightmares were too real. And certainly disturbing.

But he was a curious one. He liked to find out stuff. He made up his mind to confirm if ghosts and spirits of the dead roamed the streets at midnight.

He was perhaps ten years old when he slipped out of the sitting room in the middle of the night when mom and pop and everyone else were sound asleep.

Armed with a kerosene lantern, he took the bold steps down the front steps and into the pitch-black darkness. The famous Udara tree that was said to habour demons and evil spirits was some five hundred metres from his home.

He successfully made it to the foot of the ancient tree, all the while looking over his shoulders and fearing the worst.

All he could see and hear were insects and nocturnal birds. African star Apple fruits, freshly fallen from the tree, littered the ground. He picked as many as he could, while the initial trepidation slowly disappeared, replaced by a new sense of freedom. It was all a hoax, utter rubbish.

He stopped having those damned dreams after that night. He was a free man. In fact, to dream at night became difficult. They have been few and far between and almost never lucid. From that time, all he felt for neighbours screaming "holy ghost fire" and holding vigils during the wee hours was pity.

No thanks to Nollywood, people are more intoxicated than ever on these silly beliefs.

There is no devil out to get anyone.
What the heck do people need deliverance for? A new life filled with joy and clarity of thought beckons if people are courageous enough to clear the cobwebs of superstition from their minds.

If they did not plan to win, they were rigging the team to lose.
Wow...the entire hierarchy of NFF together with the coaching crew planned for the team to fail. That must be one heck of match fixing with a great deal of money involved.

There are hundreds of worst cases, does no exonerate Kaita.

Let me give you an instance.

Diego Simeone Vs Beckham, second round, Argentina Vs England in France '98.

David Beckham acted crazily when he (note) hid his face and kicked at Diego Simeone. Unfortunately for Beckham, his action was spotted and he got sent off.

Reason for Beckham's crazy actions, Diego Simeone harassed and fouled him repeatedly in the game. David Beckham could not take it anymore.

Diego Costa Vs Gabriel, Arsenal Vs Chelsea.
Gabriel stupidly stamped on Costa's shin and he got sent off.

Reason for Gabriel's stupid action: Costa was rough on Arsenal players and scratched Gabriel.

There are many crazy incidences but the question is, why make such stupid action? Most times, the players are provoked.

In Kaita's case, there was no evidence of provocation or threat or abuse.

We should just accept it as a moment of madness. Sorry, I can not think that way. There is always a reason.
Forgive me, but what you are saying does not make any sense. You're saying that because you as a person does not know the reason he did what he did then that gives you the right to be the judge and the jury and pronounce him guilty of match fixing.

It would be laughable if it was not saddening. With this amount of hatred 6 years after the incident, I'm almost sure that if you were in Kano on the day of the match, you'd have joined the mob in destroying his family house.

Why Coach Garba waited for so long to make a second change in that game or refused to make a change to bring in Nacho who had the ability to grab a winner.

It is unfortunate things like these go on but when you look at he signs, you see it.

Kaita had no reason to lash out. Okocha even echoed it. If the player is not retaliating then, the only explanation is fixing.

I did not say I have an evidence of match fixing but I sad, there is no other logical explanation for Sani Kaita's action against the Greek player.

As soon as Sam Sodje's match fixing report came out, he clearly stated he committed a similar action to get sent off. He also stated, (note) he can rig World Cup games. That means, he could get African players to commit unexplainable offenses to get sent off.

I am not ignorant to accept Sani Kaita ran mad for a few seconds.

Before you ask for evidence, can you give me a reason why Kaita lashed out at the guy? Throwing the ball at him is not enough reason, especially in a game that would decide our World Cup fate.

Fixing allegations raised over 2010 World Cup match

Nigeria v Greece was under investigation, claims former Fifa corruption expert

Fifa's former head of security, Chris Eaton, last night claimed the world governing body has investigated the 2010 World Cup match between Nigeria and Greece for suspected match-fixing.

Greece came from behind to defeat their African opponents 2-1 in Bloemfontein – a comeback which was facilitated by the dismissal of Nigeria's Sani Kaita after 33 minutes. Kaita kicked out at Vasilis Torosidis after both players had briefly tangled as they tried to win the ball.

Speaking to Channel 4 News, Eaton said the match has been under active investigation, as was a national federation – and that Fifa's anti-corruption unit has also been contacted by a footballer playing in the Championship expressing concerns over corruption.

Sani Kaita's red card was unprovoked. I do not remember what happened in Song's case but Kaita's case defies logic.

Kaita picked the ball to throw in and then all of a sudden, he lashed a kick at the Greek player.

The only logical explanation was, it was fixed. Remember Sodje's arrest and his claim he could fix World Cup games?

If there is any other logical explanation for Sani Kaita's kick, then it was not fixed. I doubt he was a mad man doing training and playing in numerous games for the country.
Bullsh!t. Watch the video again on Youtube. The Greek was clearly shielding him from taking hold of the ball and then when the ball went out of play pushed the ball at him. Like I said before, there have been worse cases of red cards in the history of the game.
