They can do okay but they will never or can never perform the way they are performing under Enrique. The set up of the team affects performances of players.
Must they play BADLY?

TheGoodJoe:
First, you look at the philosophy of the set up.

If the team is set to defend, the attackers will not perform as good as the defensive department.

If you set the team to attack the defence can not perform as good as the attack department.

That does not mean a good performance can not come out from players in negative set up to their strength. It happened many times.

Let us use Mikel at Chelsea. Many criticise him that he is not the player he wants was. He was up there with Messi, Silva and Fabregas.

He is played negatively from his strength as a creative midfielder. So he can not perform up to the way he did earlier. That does not mean he can not have good games. Look at Bayern and Barca games when Chelsea won the Champions league.

If Chelsea, plays Mikel to his strength, in a creative attack role, for five games, you will see that genius we saw when he was young.

Same things go to the way Clubs set up to play. That is why Mata was frustrated under Mourinho or why Hazard criticised Mourinho's style of play. The set up affects performances.
I have to say that I have not seen anyone who changes goal posts like you.

So from attackers, you have moved to collective attackers. Now you have jumped to attacking department vs defensive department. Na wa o.

You said attackers MUST play BADLY. Did Chelsea's attack play BADLY? NO! Lampard played well, Drogba played well, Ramires played well, Kalou played okay, Torres played very well. Only Mata was below par. Check this link for the match ratings: http://www.goal.com/en-ng/match/barcelona-vs-chelsea/1274371/ratings?ICID=MP_MS_6

So tell me, have you abandoned the "They MUST play BADLY" mantra?

OK! Then, let me it clear that Aluko wasn't used as an attacker in the match against Manchester city. He was used as playmaker.

Attacking players (Wingers $ strikers) can either play badly or even play very well in any defensive formation depending on the team setup.
He was used as an attacker in a 3-5-2 formation. He paired Akpom upfront. See the image below.

Again, we are done with the Aluko debate.

If you set them up to defend. I am talking of the greatest attacking trio, they will not perform prolifically. That is why Tata received the sack letter. There was a game against Atletico Madrid Messi was the worst player on the pitch.

Note Tata is an attacking coach but his set up did not bring out the best in them. Under Enrique's massive attacking set up, they are looking like the deadliest trio in the history of football.
I hope you know I am a Barca fan and I have followed them religiously for a long time.

Bros, there were matches that Tata set the team up to play defensively especially against top teams in the Champions' League. They did not play well, but they did not play BADLY. Or can you give me matches where they played badly and I will give you plenty matches they did okay in a defensive formation.

If anyone deserved criticising was the defence.

This is what you quoted above. Look at what you bolded.

The attacking players. Is that the same as every attacking players.

When you set a team defensively, the attacking players must have a bad game.

Let me explain. If Pellegrini say Man City must go all out attack, the defensive players must have a bad game because most of the attacking pressure will come with limited players in defensive regions.

That is why you see Mangala and Deimeichelis making lots f errors. When I see people blasting them, I shake my head because in that position, they are meant to play poorly.

That does not mean that Deimeichelis can not have a good game, like in the Hull City match he won man of the match, or Otamendi in some recent games.

But, the set up puts them under a lot of pressure. You see Kompany defending harshly.

So criticising them is not ideal when you look at the set up.
You've changed goal posts. You have changed to attacking department instead of individual attackers. Good! But that is still wrong!

In the Barca vs Chelsea game I gave out, the Attacking Department did not play BADLY. What about that?

This is not about giving attackers playing well or not. It is about the philosophy of the game. You can not set up a team to defend and expect the attackers to perform like Neymar, Messi and Suarez.

Is it Possible to set up a defensive formation and have the attacking players perform the way Neymar, Messi and Suarez?

Your answer will stop prolonging a simple debate. If you dance around a yes or no answer, you are evading the truth.

Is it Possible to set up a defensive formation and have the attacking players perform the way Neymar, Messi and Suarez?
Again, shifting the goal post, MSN do not play good football. They play IMPRESSIVE football. It is unfair to compare them with even the best attacking formation in the world. We are referring to arguably the greatest attacking trio the world has ever seen.

You said attackers in a defensive formation MUST have a BAD game, you didn't say they cannot play like MSN. You didn't even use GOOD, AVERAGE or MODEST. You used BAD.

I think you really do not understand the words you use.

One hundred percent. I guess you are not reading well. Read again. The attacking players. Collectively. The attacking players must have a bad game in a defensively set up team. Some might do well but collectively. They must have a bad game.

Do you agree or not?
You have a problem with English as a language. There is no place you said collectively in your opening statements. Attacking players signify the players that are attacking. You should have said the attacking department. But I think that's just to save face.

In football, we have three departments: The Defensive, Midfield and Attacking.

Oliver Torres: Unable to provide the energy in midfield Porto benefited from in the first leg. Drifted in and out of the game and was caught out of position on too many occasions. (5/10)

Yacine Brahimi: Played a key role in Porto's improvement in the second half, but he was nowhere to be found when Bayern were running riot in the opening 45 minutes. Replaced midway through the second half. (5/10)

Ricardo Quaresma: Unrecognisable from the player who caused Bayern so many problems in a two-goal display in the first leg. Lucky to avoid a red card after raising his hand to Bernat's face and he was removed at the break. (3/10)

Attack

Jackson Martinez: The biggest victim of Bayern's dominance in midfield. Left isolated despite battling impressively against Bayern's central defenders. Scored his side's goal and almost added a second with a fine effort from the edge of the box. (6/10)

This is from the From Bayern's 6-1 thrashing of Porto. You do not need to watch the game to know from the possession and score line that the attackers did not have a nice day on the field.

What I am pointing out is that in games like these, the dominating team has large possessions because they win the ball back quickly.

Most times, they win the ball from the attacking players. So the attacking players must have a bad game.

Hence Man City had a large share of the possession in the Hull games, they won the ball back a lot. So the attackers most times have bad games. I do not need to watch the game to know this.

When a coach sets his team defensively, it simplay means the opposition will have a large share of the possession. Which means the opposition will win the ball back a lot from the attacking players. So the attacking players, most times have bad games. So blasting them is not fair.
This is not my business. You gave me a match the attackers played badly, I gave you the one the they didnt play badly.

You are the one on the defensive. I should be the one giving you defensive games whose attackers played well. You said that in all defensive formations, the attackers MUST play badly.

Haha! Torrest came in for Drogba in the 80th minutes and scored in the 92 minutes extra time when all Barca players surged forward in search of the vital winning goal but where unfortunately caught up in the Chelsea counter attack trap that lead to the goal.

What did the almighty Mata played in that match before he was substituted for more effective Kaloue in the 58 Minutes? Because he was ineffective in that counter attack tactics.

Besides, Aluko is not a strike, he is an attacking midfielders.
Wait...before you jump into the discussion, I need to know your position. Do you support him with the notion that attackers MUST have a BAD game in a defensive formation?

But Torres did not have a prolific game. He lost the balls, he was dispossessed. An attacking player in a defensive formation can hardly win man of the match award.

Now that is Chelsea with top players.

Think about Hull against City.

It is standard. I am not saying a striker can not put up a good performance in a defensive formation. But most times, in a defensive formation, the attackers suffer. So there is no use criticising them when they are not set up to have a good game.
Changing the goal post now, right? Chai! I am the one telling you that an attacker can have a good game in a defensive formation, Nna.

And that's the point I've been trying to make you let go off since this issue started. It's not true.

Consider the Classic Barcelona vs Chelsea UEFA Semi Final match in 2012. Second Leg. Chelsea had won 1-0 at the Stanford Bridge in the first leg.

Take a look at Goal's Match Report:

The Premier League outfit have taken down the Catalans in their own back yard after a performance borne out of grit, determination and a tiny slice of luck

Chelsea are through to the Champions League final after an incredible 2-2 draw against Barcelona at Camp Nou in their semi-final second-leg encounter was enough to hand them a 3-2 aggregate victory over the holders.

Roberto Di Matteo's team defended brilliantly throughout, and will now travel to Munich on May 19 despite playing the majority of the match with 10 men.

The Catalans appeared to be home and dry after goals by Sergio Busquets and Andres Iniesta either side of a John Terry red card appeared to put the Blues out of the competition before half-time.

However, Ramires put the tie back into Chelsea's hands with a fantastic effort just before the interval.

Lionel Messi missed a penalty early in the second-half, and the Blues combined superb defending with a bit of luck, before Fernando Torres put the icing on the cake by finishing off a counterattack at the death.
With a 1-0 deficit to overcome after the first encounter in London, Barca coach Pep Guardiola began with an attacking 3-4-3 formation.

It took them only three minutes to carve out the first chance of the match, with Lionel Messi blasting into the side netting after rapid interplay with Alexis Sanchez.

The game plan from Di Matteo was simple as Chelsea, much as they had done in the first leg, looked to defend deep in numbers and relieve pressure on the counter whenever they could.

However, they were forced into a change after only 12 minutes as Gary Cahill was hauled off through injury for Jose Bosingwa.

Barca continued to control the game, and opened Chelsea up once more with a delightful passing move, with only the legs of Petr Cech preventing Messi from opening the scoring.

Cesc Fabregas and Didier Drogba each found the side netting before Javier Mascherano sent an unlikely 25-yard piledriver just over the bar as the home side continued to search for a way through.

The hosts were forced to bring on Dani Alves after 26 minutes for Gerard Pique, who failed to recover sufficiently from an earlier clash of heads with Victor Valdes.

The Brazilian played a part in the opener 10 minutes after his arrival, releasing Isaac Cuenca down the left, whose cutback evaded multiple bodies before Busquets tapped in.

It went from bad to worse for Chelsea, as they found themselves reduced to 10 men within two minutes. Terry appeared to knee Sanchez in the back off the ball, and was shown a straight red card by the referee.

Barca took advantage of their superior numbers, and struck again two minutes before half-time. Messi caused panic with a run at the defence before slipping in Iniesta, who slotted into the corner.

But rather than implode, as so many teams have done against the Catalans, Chelsea responded, out of nowhere, in some style.

A punt from defence by Frank Lampard was latched onto by Ramires, who guided a delightful lob over Valdes to send the Londoners into the break with the advantage on away goals.

Barca were handed a chance to regain the aggregate lead three minutes after the restart, with an apparent trip on Fabregas by Drogba in the box was spotted by the officials, leading to a penalty.

However, Chelsea’s advantage was left intact as Messi smacked the spot-kick off the crossbar.

Sanchez headed an Alves cross just wide and Cuenca was blocked at the last by Cech, as Barca set up camp in the opposition half for the remainder of the match.

But it was proving to be the same story as the first leg, as Chelsea’s doggedness at the back was just enough to keep Guardiola’s men at bay.

They were almost caught out 10 minutes before the end though, but Messi could only strike the post after being put clear with only the keeper to beat.

But the Catalans were out of ideas in attack, and were finished for good by substitute Torres in the final minute of injury time. With almost every Barca player committed in the opposition half, the Spaniard latched onto a pass from defence by Ashley Cole, rounded Valdes and fired home.

Chelsea continue their incredible renaissance under Di Matteo, and will await either Real Madrid or Bayern Munich in the final at the Allianz Arena on May 19.
Who was Man of the Match? Cech with 3.5 Stars. But guess how many Stars Torres got? 3.5 Stars!

Did Chelsea play a defensive game? Yes! They had won 1-0 in the first leg. Was Torres an attacking player? You bet! Did he play poorly? No!

You should have asked me before jumping to the conclusion that it was a defensive setup. These are your statements:

TheGoodJoe:
How do the Hull fans expect a brilliant display from Aluko when he chose to park the bus. There is no way a striker can cope and do well against a pressing Man City who are more in numbers.
TheGoodJoe:
You can not criticise an attacking player for having a poor game in a parked bus formation.

So I wonder what the number of Aluko's games you have watched has to do with this. I am not disagreeing he was poor. In that kind of formation, he must perform poorly.
TheGoodJoe:
blasting Akpom and Aluko is wrong because the coach set them up to play poorly.
TheGoodJoe:

Who said Aluko is an Alpha and Omega. I am saying Aluko will not perform well in such a defensive set up and the Hull fans should not bash him. Their coach chose to play negatively and the attacking players will not flourish.

I am acknowledging Nacho's dedication and brilliance. He did not give up even though the cross came to the front of the defenders. Iheanacho ran faster than the defenders, stuck his leg in between them and scored.

That is pure brilliance and the Hull fans should criticize the Hull defenders for not showing the kind of Hunger the City attacking players showed.

The defenders deserved more sticks thrown at them than at Aluko and Akpom. Aluko was on the field when they conceded only one goal. Why should he get more criticism than defenders who were on the pitch when the team conceded four goals.
How do you know it was a defensive setup? What formation did Hull use?
SportsRe: Super Eagles Of Nigeria Thread: 2017 AFCON Qualifiers. by joseph1013: 11:07am On Dec 04, 2015
TheGoodJoe:
Simply put it you won't answer. So we can let it rest. When a coach set's up his team to play negatively, you can not blame the attackers for having poor performances.

What is most ridiculous from the Hull fans is that their defence were worse than Akpom and Aluko. For instance, how Iheanacho out ran them to latch unto a cross from Sterling. Iheanacho wanted it more and was more vigilant to beat the slow thinking defenders.

One of the defenders headed the ball towards goal, instead of out for a corner and De Bruyne who wanted it more got to the ball and score.

The defenders conceded four goals, three in ten minutes but the fans hailed Bruce, the son of the coach for having a good game in a parked bus defence that conceded four goals. They bashed attackers for having poor games in a parked bus set up.
Interesting! You attribute the victory to Aluko, and not to Kelechi. Quite brilliant! Sterling would not outrun the defender if Aluko was there? Kelechi would not outpace the defevder if Aluko was there? The defender would not misplace Kelechi's header on Kevin's path if Aluko was there? Hull would not have conceded the freekick if Aluko was there? WOW...I didn't know Aluko is the Alpha and Omega of that team. No wonder he was the man of the match.

A FRIEND ON FACEBOOK NARRATED THIS:

I was at Ikeja shopping mall two days ago on duty where I recovered a missing purse at the parking lot. The purse contained; some cash both local and foreign currencies, recharge cards worth about N2000, nine ATM cards, complementary cards, valuable documents, international passport, international and local drivers license, national ID card, voters card and a gold necklace.

I took the missing purse to the security office where all lost but found items are being kept for the owners to claim should in case the owners lodge a formal complaint that their items at the mall went missing for possibly claim after identification.

At the security office where we went through all the items inside the purse for record purpose, one of the security men told me point blank that if he's the one that recovered the missing purse, he'd remove the money, gold necklace and recharge card before bringing the purse to the office for record purpose. I wasn't disappointed with his misguided speech because that's the normal character of most Nigerians when they recover a missing item.

Somehow, I decide to trace the owner of the purse via her complimentary card and put a call across to her. Open receiving the call, she screamed at the background jubilating that her missing purse has been recovered. She drove straight to the mall, tracing me through my mobile number I used in calling her.

When we met, she didn't mind we were in public, she gave me a warm hug and thanked me and prayed for me. I took her to the office where the purse was kept. She checked her purse and discovered that nothing was missing. She was astonished. She asked me again if I was the one that saw the item and I said yes.

She told me that she was already in the bank filling forms to block her ATM cards. She said in those ATM cards, she have over N200m in there and the necklace in the purse is valued at N1.8m. She also said, I just removed a heavy burden from her neck because life would have been miserable for her missing her international passport, international and local drivers licence including other documents. She kept thanking me and almost knelling down. She was awed and she told me that she least expected a Police officer to recover a missing item containing cash and still return that missing item intact without removing a dime out of it mostly in this harsh economy. She kept staring at me like am a God.

To cut the long story short, she gave me some cash which I rejected. I told her am doing my job and taking money from her for recovering her missing purse is wrong on my part. I also made her to understand that we can become friends and maybe in the future she can appreciate my nice gesture to her but I won't take anything from her for doing my job at the moment.

She became speechless and asked me which church am i attending? I smiled and told her "am irreligious. In fact, am a freethinker" that's the exact words I told her.

She stood their for minutes without knowing the next word to say.

Anyway, we are now friends and she just introduced me to her husband this morning on phone. Her husband was so excited and has invited me and my family to join them on a dinner in any of my off days.

Is good to do the right thing not because of any reward that comes with it but because its the right thing to do.

Good morning.

OK, I understand what you meant by controlling the game. Yours is about the possession but I was talking about Hull-city game plan, soak the pressure and go for the counter. Didn't they do that very well?
Remember, Chealse vs Barcelona UEFA semi final? Game plan that is what I mean.

How many matches did he miss before the two matches? 5 matches

How many minutes of football did he see in those two matches? 21 minutes: 6 minutes and 15 minutes respectively. As you can see, he needed time to blend and pick up.

Bros, I just saw the replay now and I can say, yes, Aluko did helped Hull-city to control the game (my concept of control) yesterday. To help control the game isn't tantamount to playing well. That question is meant for his coach to answer and not us. Ours is just to give opinions and that's all.

He gave Diame two through passes but unfortunately Diame didn't react quickly to those passes.

So, what do you want Aluko to do about Diame's inability to read tactical moves?

You said that the combination of Sterling and Kelechi broke Hull's back, that also is not true. The second goal was a through pass to Sterling before he crossed the ball into the box, notice I said into the box because it was not really an exceptional cross. Hull City defenders could have cleared the ball even before Kelechi had a touch. So, It was a defensive error. The third goal also came as a result of another defensive blunder. It was Hull City defender that assisted the goal and not Kelechi. The fourth goal was keeper's blunder.

Aluko didn't have a short at goal! That's not true. Out of the 5 shot on goal Hull had, Aluko had one shot at goal and the second was off target. Remember, he was not the point man. Go through BBC commentaries again it is there.

You are right, Aluko and Akpom were only criticized for the error that lead to the first goal. That goal disrupted their game plan. The fans knew that.
I see. So controlling the match has another definition now.

Well, let's just say it wasn't the same match you watched with me and the rest of the fans.

Manchester City's Sergio Aguero is the perfect strike partner says wonderkid Kelechi Iheanacho

https://i1.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/incoming/article10355015.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/GettyImages-494199094.jpg

Kelechi Iheanacho has already bagged three goals in two starts and eight substitute appearances this season, his latest coming in the 4-1 cruise against Hull in the League Cup this week.

But so far he has only clocked up seven minutes on the field at the same time as Sergio Aguero.

He may be helped by the fact that manager Manuel Pellegrini sees him as a second striker – so he is in competition for a place with David Silva and Kevin de Bruyne rather than Aguero himself.

Kelechi himself feels he CAN lead the line alone, something Pellegrini has been reluctant to do.

“I play as a number ten, as a striker on my own or as a striker with another striker,” said the 19-year-old Nigerian.

“If I am the lone striker, I can play, but can also do the other two positions well.

“You need to be a good player to play with Sergio in the team, so I am working hard to show I can play with him in the team.

“When you play with superstars, it makes the game easier for you. They always make the right decision, and they know when you will run and when you will stop.”

Kelechi is already on a steep learning curve – he was called into the Nigeria squad for the first time last month, and made his full international debut as a substitute against Swaziland.

And he was elevated to the City first team squad this summer, although his chances have been limited.

That has not stopped him making, exciting the supporters and being labelled as a standard-bearer for the young hopefuls in the Blues academy.

He is happy with that tag, and keen to share the secret of how to make that tough breakthrough from Patrick Vieira's elite development squad.

And part of his advice is to not take it too personally when you get a rollicking!

“You need to keep working hard in training, listening to the older players, listening to the coaches – and then use your strength as a younger player. If you do that, you will get there,” he said.

“When they shout at you, you can be afraid, but you need to take it out of your head, keep working hard and pushing yourself in every game, every training session.

“City are a big team and I am just coming up as a young player, so I am not worried.

“One day I will start playing regularly for the team. There are plenty of good players in the EDS, and I feel like I am flying the flag for them – they can all do what I am doing.

“I get the feeling the fans love me, and I love them as well!”

First of all, prior to the derby and Bristol city games, Aluko missed 5 full matches (Middlesbrough, Brentford, Birmingham, Milton Keyness Don and Leicester city) between 24th of October - 7th November, and only saw 21 minutes of football after coming out from injury. Tell me, what do you want me to expect from him(unfit or about to) against one of the most highly rated and fit team in the league?

You said you didn't see a single thing Aluko did on the field. Haba! Bros, you sure say you watch the match without blinking your eyes? Who initiated those brilliant moves that unlocked the Man City defense and allowed Diame the attempt at goal? If a better Striker had that chance Diame had he must surely score.

But how come Sterling couldn't do anything within the time frame Aluko was on the pitch? Remember he played for good 11 minutes before Aluko was substituted. Kelechi came in 3 minutes before Aluko came off. But during those periods, I didn't see what they played.

Bros, so you mean Hernandez and Snodgrass came into the game only for Hull city to conceded 3 more goals? Lol. Tactical blunder.
Oh! I see they managed to create a consolation goal and nothing more. grin

In a nutshell, Akpom and Aluko were criticized for losing possession that lead to the first goal and that's all.
Shallom.
Stats don't lie, buddy!

You said Hull Controlled the game while Aluko was on. That was a lie. I gave you the official stats. It was 62% for City against 38% for Hull.

You said injuries affected Aluko's game. That cannot be true. It does not matter how many times you have been away, games get you fit. This is not Nigeria where players are introduced as soon as they recover. These people have physiotherapists who get you ready long before you are even introduced to trainings. Except it's a do-or-die game, these trained personnel dont allow rushing into games. Aluko has been fit since early last month and even played two games prior to Man City game. So where is the excuse of injuries?

Also, you need to make up your mind. You cannot say Aluko made Hull control the game (which is a lie) and then say he did not play well cos he was injured (which is not true). Which is which? Did he play well or did he not?

If you read my comment well, you will realize that I said it was the combination of both Sterling and Kelechi that broke Hull's back. Both of them! And you must be the only one who didnt see that Sterling was already making a mincemeat of Hull's defence as soon as he was introduced. He was all over the place.

Which brilliant move did Diame not convert? How come fans didn't descend on him if it was such a great move? How come even with Bony's goal, he was still widely criticized for the way he played the game? Why was it not the same with Diame?

You compared Hernandez and Snodgrass that has a shot on target each in their less than 30 mins of playing with Aluko who had ZERO shots or attacking moves in his 73 mins of being on the pitch? Cmon!

Well, if you at least confessed that he lost possession that led to that crucial first goal, then you have helped the cause of the fans.

HOW CAN ZUCKERBERG DO THIS?

Mark Zuckerberg, the inventor & CEO of Facebook, one of the biggest businesses in the world, has just had his first child. The couple struggled with miscarriages before they could get this one. If he were a God-believer, he would've done marathon thanksgiving in 7 parishes across the world, testifying to how God destroyed the devil's plans to make him barren.

Well that's not the story here.

The story is that instead he has pledged $45 billion (approximating 99% of his life earnings) to celebrate the arrival of the child. Not to build religious auditoriums but to advance the welfare of humanity — sponsor scientific & technological research, alleviate poverty, empower people the world over, etc. Reminds me of another atheist by the name of Bill Gates whose multi-billion dollar humanitarian services have been there to be seen globally for some time now. Gates was responsible for wiping Polio out of Nigeria this year, as confirmed by WHO.

If God chooses to throw these guys into hell for not believing in him, I'd rather spend my eternity with them over there. If I cross to the eternity & find myself in the same joint with all these popular Nigerian General Overseers & Pastors, even if the place is heaven, I'd quickly request to be transferred to the other side.

Once again, that's not the story.

Dino Melaye is a prototypical Nigerian politician. From time to time, he always displays the pictures of his new car collections on social media. He has made some little wealth by feeding on public funds. He hasn't even donated a single dime of his money to help the poor.

Conclusion
Those who become extremely wealthy by working hard don't find it difficult to spend the money on charities while those who come by riches through ignoble means are the ones always finding it difficult to consider humanity in all their opulence. The same mentality that got them the wealth is the same one that would make them extremely selfish with it.

MARKED MAN IGHALO VOWS TO WORK HARDER

https://africanfootball.com/bp_images/2015/12/1rv8n1htbciw11k6ivd0pulxeu.jpg

Nigeria international Odion Ighalo has revealed that been the target of opposing defenders has made him to work a lot harder to get more goals for Watford in the EPL.

Ighalo, who attracted defenders to himself whenever his team attack, said the opponents feel he is Watford danger man and therefore strive to stop him by all means, but all that has made him a better player.

"Opposing defenders are always around me because they feel I am the danger man of my team, so there are always two players marking me. That has really help me grow more, to get better and work harder preparing for every game because I now realise it will take real hard work to score goals," Ighalo said.

The Watford striker, who is the third leading scorer in the EPL this season with eight goals, said he was delighted with a hard-earned victory over Aston Villa at the weekend.

"The game against Aston Villa was tough and difficult, but thank God we won," Ighalo said.

Aluko was just coming back from injury prior to Hull-city last two matches and I wasn't expecting him to play. Going into details of the match against Manchester city, he was the playmaker of his team and that was why Hull-city was able to control the game but as soon as he was removed, Man city was able to control the game and that resulted to 3 more goals.

Aluko seems to be a playmaker than a Striker and I think he played very very well against Manchester city.
Man City scored the three goals, not cos Aluko was removed but cos Kelechi and Sterling were introduced. Their speed and movements destabilised their defence. Sterling made his trademark run to cross for Kelechi for the first goal. It was a goal he shouldn't have scored. The second goal was as a result of Kelechi winning an aerial ball for Kevin and the last was a direct freekick.

After Hernandez and Snodgrass were introduced, Otamendi and Mangala especially started making errors at the back, hence their only goal. I didnt see a single thing Aluko did right in that match. Oga, Hull City did not control the game whilst Aluko was on the pitch o. Please check the Stats. It was 62% for City and 38% for Hull. Haba bros!

And you cant blame injuries for that performance. How can you not expect him to play. That's preposterous! The guy's been fit since early last month and has even played two matches before the Man City game; matches in which eventhough they did not win, the fans did not single him out for condemnation. He played against Derby and Bristol City. He is fully fit.

PLAYER RATINGS: NIGERIA 2-2 EGYPT

https://www.4shared.com/download/b4FnNYlrce/Capture.jpg?sbsr=d97ad3563e2adb98055ae70bd8bd6f8f95c&lgfp=3000

After Nigeria let slip a two goal lead to draw 2-2 with Egypt at the ongoing Under-23 Africa Nations Cup,Mowizsoccer rates the players who featured in the game.

Emmanuel Daniel: The goalkepper was largely responsible for the one point Nigeria picked as he stood between Egypt and a winner in the second half...7/10.

Seth Sincere: Started brightly by galloping up the flanks from his right full back role but faded as the game progressed, very slack in marking and gave the team no width...5/10

Effiong Ndifreke: A left full back who despite the bright early start of his left winger didn't contribute anything going forward, became the team weak link in the second half and largely at fault for both of the moves that lead to Egypt's goals...4/10

Oduduwa Segun: Hardly got involved as his partner Amaefule Chizoba did the bulk of the job, weak in the air, sluggish and his poor positioning played the Egyptians on when an offside trap was set by the other defenders...4/10

Amaefule Chizoba: Hard in tackle, strong in one on one contest and a willing runner, most experienced and oldest of the defence quartet, unfortunate to have scored an own goal but still the best defender on display for the team...6/10

Mohammed Usman: Known for his twinkle toes and dribbling skills but none was on show against Egypt, struggled to release the strikers with through ball,a rather subdued performance going by his abilities...5/10

Okechukwu Azubuike: The captain saw lots of the ball, kept his team ticking, contributed in defence but failed to get into goal scoring positions, however his quality is clear to see...6/10

Etebo Oghenekaro: Took his penalties with calmness and aplomb but missed a simple header that would have given him his hattrick, lively all through but appears lost in his role behind the striker...6/10

Junior Ajayi: Scored a brace in the first game but got no where near the opponent's goal as he failed to evade his markers largely due to a lack of service, substituted with a minute left to play...4/10

Taiwo Awoniyi: Highly rated but yet to live up to his ratings so far in this tournament, played outwide and struggled to get involved even when he moved to his preferred central striker role...4/10

Stanley Dimgba: Threatened the Egyptians with his pace at the start of the game but went surprisingly missing in the second half and failed to aid his full back in defending when Egypt piled on the pressure...5/10

Substitutes:

Ebong Eyo: Tried to inject urgency into the team's attack but ended up running into blind alleys, dragged an effort narrowly wide few minutes after coming on...4/10

Godspower Aniefiok: Had 9 anonymous minutes failing to use his strength and pace to good effect...3/10

Yaro Bature: A time wasting substitute, came on a minute to full time but missed a glorious chance to steal all three points for Nigeria, shot high into the sky when a loose ball found him free on the edge of the opponent's box...2/10

Did I say Aluko was fantastic. I said he was bound to have a poor game because the coach decided the team was to defend.
So why did Diame and Ahmed not have as poor a game as Aluko?

Aluko did not have a poor game. He had a terrible game!
