TheGoodJoe:
That is exactly what I am saying. You can not make clean passes as an attacking player if the team is dominated. I do not need to watch the Dinamo Zagreb Bayern Munich match to know the Dinamo attacking players had a bad game. If you check, skills will fail and passes will be missed.

It is not a Nigeria thing. It is a case if a side defending and expecting that attacking players to have a good game.

Most times in these kind of games, the Substitutes of the defending side play better because now, the team will push further.

If you check the Dinamo game, the Substitutes will play better.

So blasting Akpom and Aluko is wrong because the coach set them up to play poorly.
So why didn't they blast Livermore, even Robertson? At least those two were not substitutes. Or are they goal keepers?

You think they condemned the performances of Akpom and Aluko cos they are Nigerians?

Go watch the game and stop with the speculations. How did you know they pushed further when you didn't watch the game? Mere conjectures!

To be sincere with you Sir, Aluko may need a fresh baptism to regain the form and confidence he exhibited last season, which made him cause havoc to opposing defenders.

An Aluko of last season needed just few minutes to change games, just the same way Kelechi Iheanacho is doing at Mancity.

I don't just think it's just all about formation. I want to see him in the Super Eagles, but let him up his game first.
He thinks it's all about formation. I think his major problem is that he didn't watch the game, else he'd know that Robertson did very well eventhough the team was dominated.

Aluko was dismal in the game. Period.

I watched El Clasico. I gave up the Liverpool vs City game to watch it. I know for sure Madrid did not park the bus but I am using it as a scenario because Barca dominated the game and the attacking players of Madrid did not get enough chances to express themselves.

I repeat, Logically, in a parked bus formation, the attacking players hardly have a good game.

Answer these questions:
Did Hull City park the bus?
If yes, do you expect the attacking players to have a good game?
Your point is getting muddled. Stop with saying 'logically'. What does that even mean in this context.

Are you saying that for every game in which one team dominated the other that we do not have bright spots?

The reason I'm reluctant to discuss this game with you is because you did not watch it. Hernandez and Snodgrass came in for Akpom and Aluko respectively and they played better than the duo removed. So what's your point?

Even in this case, I wasn't referring to the collective team effort to affect Aluko's game, I'm referring to what he did with the ball when he had it. Inaccurate passes. Was that the team's fault? Wayward shooting. Was that the team's fault? Inability to successfully complete 1-on-1 with Otamendi. Was that the team's fault?

I know you have the obligation to defend your countrymen, but at least watch the games you want to defend them on, perhaps you would be able to manufacture some points from that. Yesterday, the adventureness in Aluko was non-existent.

I did not watch yesterday's game but logic shows that an attacking player can not thrive in a parked bus scenario. Did you watch the last El Classico? Tell me one attacking Madrid player that had a good game.

You can not criticise an attacking player for having a poor game in a parked bus formation.

So I wonder what the number of Aluko's games you have watched has to do with this. I am not disagreeing he was poor. In that kind of formation, he must perform poorly.
This is interesting! You didn't watch a game yet you feel qualified to talk about the nitty gritty of the game. Isn't that something?

You probably didn't watch the Barca's game, if not you'd know that Madrid didn't play a defensive game. Casimero, who had started 10 straight games before that match was benched cos CR7 and other senior players prevailed on Benitez not to be defensive. So, he was dropped totally from the game.

Again, how you feel qualified to analyse a game you didn't watch is surprising to me.
SportsRe: Super Eagles Of Nigeria Thread: 2017 AFCON Qualifiers. by joseph1013: 6:55pm On Dec 02, 2015
TheGoodJoe:
Look at CR7 against Barcelona. He was not as sharp as we know. Look at Isco when he came on, his skills did not work.

That is what happens when a team is on the defensive and the attacking team is more in number. The attacking players are crowded. The skills will not work out well because he is crowded. The defenders of Hull will look good because they are defending in numbers, that is they are more defenders.

Attacking players are mostly poor in parked bus formations.
How many matches of Aluko have you watched this season? Did you watch yesterday's game?

How do the Hull fans expect a brilliant display from Aluko when he chose to park the bus. There is no way a striker can cope and do well against a pressing Man City who are more in numbers.
His usual chase-and-cut moves were dismal. He was not the sharp Aluko I watched last season.

Manchester City's Wilfried Bony on the advice he gives to Kelechi Iheanacho

https://i4.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/incoming/article10534331.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/JS77848917.jpg

Wilfried Bony has revealed how he has taken his little “brother” Kelechi Iheanacho under his wing at Manchester City.

And when the exciting 19-year-old scored the vital second goal in the League Cup quarter-final win over Hull, he was almost as happy as his teammate!

But Bony has urged Kelechi to not cut any corners in his push for regular first team football.

“I see him as my brother, because he has come from Africa, like me, so I give him lots of advice, on how to handle pressure,” said Bony, who scored the opening goal as the Blues booked a place in the last four.

“We have things in common, so I talk to him a lot – he sits close to him so I see him every day. It's good for me to push him to do it the right way.

“And he is a striker, so it's always good when he scores. It makes me happy as well.

“He has time – he is only 20 so has another 15 years in front of him to become a player in the team.”

Hull boss Steve Bruce had claimed the scoreline was an injustice with City scoring three times in the last ten minutes, but Bony pointed out that was a result of the Blues' domination of the ball.

“We tried to push when we scored the first goal, but they tried to play very compact at the back, so it was quite difficult to create chances, and create space,” he said.

“But we dominated and scored the last three goals in the last ten minutes, so I think they were tired. We took advantage of that and the goals came at a good moment.”

Man City legend wants starting role for Iheanacho

https://i4.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/incoming/article10534330.ece/ALTERNATES/s615b/JS77848875.jpg

London - Manchester City great Rodney Marsh wants manager Manuel Pellegrini to give Kelechi Iheanacho a starting role following his goal against Hull City in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday.

The Nigerian scored on his premier league debut against Crystal Palace, his only goal from nine appearances so far in the league but his fine form is very evident in the cup games.

In the Capital One Cup he has scored twice and his latest strike yesterday forced the legend to call for him to be a starter in key games this season.

"Time has come for Kelechi to get a run, if not alongside Aguero in twin striker role, then definitely when Aguero is out," he posted on twitter suggesting the 19 year old should start ahead of Bony.

Already Iheanacho is a senior International for Nigeria with two caps under his belts and he is widely tipped to be a big star for Nigeria and Africa in the coming years.

On his part the Nigerian credit his good form in front of goals to the motivations he gets from senior players in the team and coach Manuel Pellegrini.

Sergio Aguero pushing Kelechi Iheanacho to greatness

https://africanfootball.com/bp_images/2015/12/Iheanacho_Man_City_v_Hull_C.jpg

Kelechi Iheanacho has been marked out for greatness … by no other than Kun Aguero!

The 19-year-old striker bagged his third goal of a breakthrough season to help Manchester City on their way to a 4-1 win over Hull in the League Cup quarter-finals.

And then he revealed that he is being egged on by the legendary Blues striker every day in training – and by Wilfried Bony.

Now he is dreaming of scoring the winner at Wembley to cap a dream season, with the Blues just a two-legged semi-final away from a date beneath the Arch on February 28.

Afterwards he paid tribute to the way the senior strikers have welcomed him into the first team fold – and told him that he could hit the very top.

“They talk to me ever day in training, giving me advice and encouraging me to keep going and doing well,” he said. “They tell me I will be a great player one day, so I will keep listening and working hard.

“The manager also gives me great advice, telling me to play simple and score goals.

“It’s always a pleasure to score a goal, and it was a good goal, a good reaction to run to the front post.

“I anticipate every time someone is crossing the ball – I knew where Raheem would put it so I made the run.”

Many City fans are frustrated at the lack of first-team chances Kelechi seems to be getting, but he accepts the fact he is still on a learning curve.

“City are a big team and I am just coming up as a young player, so I am not worried,” he said.

“One day I will start playing regularly for the team. There are plenty of good players in the EDS, and I feel like I am flying the flag for them – they can all do what I am doing.

“I get the feeling the fans love me, and I love them as well!”

The world football governing body has express regret in naming Nwakali as bronze boot winner instead of ChukwuezeThe Federation of International Football Association (Fifa) has admitted they made a mistake giving Kelechi Nwakali the 2015 U17 World Cup bronze boot instead of Samuel Chukwueze.
Chukwueze (535 minutes) and Nwakali (630 minutes) were tied on three goals and three assists but the later was awarded as third highest goal scorer prize despite having more playing time than his teammate.

“We made a mistake at the closing ceremony of the FIFA U-17 World Cup Chile 2015 with the distribution of the adidas Bronze Boot,” Fifa wrote to the NFF.

“Instead of player no. 8 of Nigeria, Samuel Chukwueze, the player Kelechi Nwakali (player no. 10 of Nigeria) received the adidas Bronze Boot. However, if two or more players are still equal (after goals and assists), the player who has played fewer number of minutes will be ranked first.

“With this in mind, adidas will send you another Bronze Boot in December 2015, which we would kindly ask you to hand over to Samuel Chukwueze. Please be informed that Kelechi Nwakali may keep his trophy.”

Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen won the golden boot award with 10 goals while Germany’s Johannes Eggestein walked away with the silver boot having scored four goals.

TheSuperNerd:
Fifa just confirmed my suspicions. They only acknowledge 1 mistake when in fact they made 2 mistakes.

1). Samuel Chukwueze's 3gls and 3 assists were ranked 3rd on the top scorers' list on the fifa website with K.Nwakali in fourth. (Based on achievement of statistics under lesser no. Of minutes). At least our "Arjen Robben-like player" has a prize to show for his industry at the previous level. Hopefully, he keeps getting better for this level ahead of 2017.

2). Akpan David Udoh's 82.8% overall saves ratio % beat Mali's Samuel Diarra's 81%. So why did he get the Golden Gloves? Fifa should please be careful next time.

Ride on "Super" Flying Eagles........ *smiles*

You know, it was the FIFA-knows-better thinking that stopped me from speaking about it. Good to know that even FIFA admits when it's wrong.

AGNOSTICS AND ATHEISTS

The distinction between agnosticism and atheism is simple but widely misunderstood. Theists believe one or more gods are real, atheists do not. Theism and atheism are about a person's BELIEFS.

Agnosticism comes from the Greek word "gnōstikos" which means to do with knowledge. Gnostics claim to KNOW something is true whilst agnostics do not claim to know.

So, a theist who claims to know a god exists is a gnostic theist. Most theists are gnostic but a few do not claim to know, and so are agnostic theists.

Most atheists do not claim to KNOW there are no gods--there are just none they find believable. So most atheists are agnostic atheists. However, there are some "strong" atheists who do claim they know there are no gods--these are gnostic atheists.

Theists find it convenient to assume all atheists are gnostic atheists because it is much harder to defend than agnostic atheism (which needs no defence). And attacking the atheist's position diverts attention from the gnostic theist's position, which has no valid defence at all. That is why gnostic theists rely exclusively on broken, fallacious arguments--it is all they have.

Nigeria are working on facing Italy and African champions Cote d’Ivoire in friendly matches in the new year, according to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president.

Anderlecht may beat EPL clubs to Osimhen

NFF boss Amaju Pinnick disclosed in an interview that the federation’s match agent has already began discussions with both teams for the friendlies to prepare them for 2018 World Cup and 2017 AFCON qualifiers.

“Nothing has been concluded yet but we wish to play reigning African champions Cote d’Ivoire in London. There is a proposal to play Italy, who are excited about playing Nigeria after we defeated Cameroon recently,” disclosed Pinnick.

“We want to make the most every FIFA friendly window by playing top quality matches.”

There will be two FIFA friendly windows in the first half of the new year, at the end of March, when Nigeria battle Egypt in 2017 AFCON qualifiers home and away and then between June 8 and 16.

There will be another FIFA window between August 31 and September 8.

A minor heart surgery to correct a defect noticed in the heart of Nigeria 18 year old right full back,Nura Abdullahi who plays on loan for AS Roma from Serie B side Spezia will be carried out this weekend.

The 18 year old who is reportedly on the radar of Barcelona was diagnosed with the issue after a routine medical check up and he is now set to go under the surgeon's knife for the surgery meant to protect his career.

It is reportedly a simple task and he won't be out for too long along according to reports gathered by News24 but this will be a minor setback to his fine form for AS Roma Primavera side where he has become a regular and has made the bench for the main team four times so far this season in the Serie A.

Nicknamed "Two Sim' by his friends in Kaduna due to his tireless ability when running the right flank from his full back role, He is tipped to be an integral part of Nigeria's next Under-20 team which will commence training in January in Abuja.

Last season he earned his loan move to Roma alongside his childhood friend Sadiq Umar after scoring 8 times and providing 12 assists for the B team of Serie B side Spezia.

Dalong praises, charges Dream Team

https://www.thenff.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/dalong.jpg

Barely 30 minutes after a hard fought 3-2 win over Mali, the Honourable Minister of Youth and Sports, Barr. Solomon Dalong, put a call across to players and officials of the U-23 National Team (Dream Team), urging them not to rest on their oars but go all out for the Olympics ticket.
Congratulating the boys for being brave warriors to overcome the Mali hurdle, the Youth and Sports minister said no game is easy and the fact that they could withstand the pressure from the Malians goes to show that they possess the true fighting spirit of Nigerians.

"Let me assure you all that your efforts will not go unnoticed; all I ask of you is to relax, enjoy this moment, then concentrate on your next game, no game is easy, but from the much you have shown against Mali, I know you guys can make it."

Barr. Dalong had before the game put a call across to the team, charging them not to let the nation proud.

Responding Coach Siasia thanked the Youth and Sports Minister for finding time within his busy schedule to give the team a morale -boosting call, while assuring the Minister that the team would not disappoint Nigerians. Siasia called on all to support the team, saying that they have come this far and cannot afford to falter.

Meanwhile, Head Coach of the Dream Team, Samson Siasia has admitted that his team was lucky to have escaped with a 3-2 victory over West African rivals Mali, in its first game at the on going U-23 Africa Cup of Nations played at the Caroline Fay Stadium, Mbour.

Coach Siasia made this disclosure while addressing the sporting press at the post match press conference after the game.
According to Coach Siasia: "We were simply lucky today that we took our chances in the first half; my defenders after conceding that penalty goal, became jittery and in the process started giving the ball away to our opponents. It was a game of two halves, for me my greatest joy was that we were able to pick the first three points, meaning one more win and we are in the semi finals."

On how difficult the Malians were, Coach Siasia said the Malians, like any other team in the group earned their qualification for the competition, and so are no push overs, but one thing he is assuring Nigerians is that in a competition like this, the Dream Team will get better with each passing game.

Coach Siasia then urged Nigerians to support the team, as they take on Egypt, and that for him and his boys, it's one game at a time.

Islamist Terrorism vs Christian Terrorism Incidents

Conservatives won't admit the ‪#‎PlannedParenthood‬ terrorist attack of yesterday has anything to do with Christianity. And liberals won't admit jihadist terrorism has anything to do with Islam. Thank you, God, for making me an atheist.

Did anyone seriously ever think -- since the first minute the story broke -- that the PP shooter was anything but a religious Christian? Sorry, but despite what Reza Aslan tells you, words have meaning, and beliefs drive behavior. It's not just a bunch of ink blots on a page, and Christian beliefs are as irrational as any other.

But before we get to the inevitable "See, it's not just Muslims!" told-ya-so thing, let's acknowledge a few things:

Some apologist Muslims are understandably feeling like they've gotten a bit of a break today. They're a little sad, of course, but there's a little bit of glee: this Christian terrorist attack on PP has given them another rebuttal point against that nagging, annoying narrative that jihadist terrorism is an Islam problem.

Fortunately for them, after every hundred or so Islamist terrorist incidents around the world, there occurs the odd Chapel Hill or Timothy McVeigh or Planned Parenthood attack that keeps the "But what about...?" argument alive.

These occasional one-offs allow many Western Muslim apologists to deflect attention from a clear pattern of hundreds of jihadist attacks happening on a daily basis, in multiple countries, in the name of Islam, with the killers citing supporting verses from the Quran and chanting Allahu Akbar at every murderous instance.

Sure, Christianity is ridiculous too, and when Christians had a lot of state power in the first half of the last millennium, they did horrendous things. But that's not how it is today.

Today, it is Islam that has state power in much of the world, and is doing all of those horrendous things. If your argument is to hold what the Islamic State does on a daily basis in comparison to what super-religious Christian nutjobs do once in a while, you're going to lose a lot of credibility.

Fighting back against Christendom, chasing it out of state affairs, and embracing secularism is what helped reduce a widespread pattern of Christian atrocities to a few one-off incidents here and there.

Today, we should be fighting Islamism the same way, so in the future, Islamist terrorism incidents are as rare as these Christian terrorism incidents. Secularism is the only thing that both protects us from the lunacy of religion, and ensures true religious freedom for all.

Islam is not just a religion, Islam is a way of life. Islam is the real constitution which God guides us with. Islam is not just a religion practice anyhow it is a religion which God said find knowledge about me for you to be able to worship me , because if you don't know me how will you worship me. Islam is open , Islam is sweet ,Islam is one and our God Allah (subhanallah watahalla) is one.
I asked a simple question and all you did is gallivant. How do you know that Islam is the one true religion?

On why Islam is known to be one true fact lemme tell you this, many atheist believe in science and I can tell you that many things which the science never knew, which no book ever talked about which no one ever has the idea of have been discussed in the Holy Qur'an for over 1400 years ago and it was revealed to a man who was never learned who never went to any sch yet scientists now confirm his saying . You see there are many instances just to mention a few.
You make me laugh.

FACT: The Quran contains so many scientific errors that make rational people gasp.

Quran 2: 29 It is He who hath created for you all things that are on Earth; THEN He turned to the Heaven and made them into seven firmaments (Skies)….
Quran 79: 27 - 30 Are you the harder to create, or is the heaven that He built? He raised the height thereof and ordered it; and He has made dark the night thereof, and He brought forth the morning thereof. And after that, He spread (flattened) the earth

Now, does it match modern science? Do you believe that, Earth was created first, after that, God created Heaven? Modern science tells us that? Or How come SEVEN firmaments (layers)? Modern science tells us that, actually there is no such thing Sky is no “roof” over us. It is only a space with no known boundary at all. These verses simply reinforce the ancient idea of ROOF over us which is called SKY, is it not so? How funny!

Quran 18: 86 Till, when he (the traveller Zul-qarnain) reached the setting-place of the Sun, he found it going down into a muddy spring…
Quran 18: 90 Till, when he reached the rising-place of the Sun, he found it rising on a people for whom We had appointed no shelter from it.

Serious scientific errors here! Firstly, it is scientifically accepted fact that, the Sun never go down in a muddy spring. Secondly, this seems to presuppose a FLAT Earth, otherwise how can there be an extreme point in the West or in the East? A sunrise there would be basically just the same as at any other place on this earth, at land or sea. It would still look as if it is setting “far away”. It does say, that he reached THE PLACE where the Sun sets and in his second Journey the place where it rises.

Quran 36: 38 And the sun runneth on unto a resting place for him. That is the measuring of the Mighty, the Wise.
Quran 36: 39 And for the moon We have appointed mansions till she return like an old shrivelled palm leaf.
Quran 36: 40 It is not for Sun to overtake the moon, nor doth the night outstrip the day. They float each in an orbit.

Allah is indeed a big scientist. Where is sun and where is moon situated? Can anybody tell me how they could collide/meet/overtake each other? Are the sun and the moon neighbors to each other? I have the answer for this error: Ancient Allah saw (bare eye observations) sun and moon traveling from east to west seemingly in the same Sky area or same path, without colliding, causing day and night etc. Allah hardly could imagine that all these phenomena are simply due to Earth’s rotation and NOT by Sun’s rotation. Sun is stationary for Earth, because earth is stuck in the sun’s Gravity, like we are stuck in earth’s gravity. Allah never says any where in the whole Quran that, EARTH ROTATES. Perhaps Allah could not feel earth’s rotation.

Quran 67: 5 And We have (from of old) adorned the lowest heaven (sky) with lamps, and We have made such (Lamps as) missiles to drive away Satans…
Quran 37: 6-8 We have indeed decorated the lower heaven (sky) with beauty (in) the stars, (for beauty) and for guard against all obstinate rebellious Satans. So they should not strain their ears in the direction of the Exalted Assembly but be cast away from every side.

Thus, the stars are nothing but missiles to throw at devils so that they may not eavesdrop on the heavenly council. Once again we find how Allah was high on his superstitious weirdness.

Saying the Quran proves science is making a mockery of the book.

SIX QUESTIONS ATHEISTS ARE ALWAYS ASKED

There are many millions of believers, most of them from very religious countries, who have never, ever encountered an atheist. I suspect they find the idea of atheism puzzling and bizarre, possibly even wicked.
I will answer all those standard questions they ask right here. If you have friends like this, please SHARE this so they can have their questions answered.
_
1. What are atheists?
Atheists are people who do not believe in any gods. Most atheists do not believe in any supernatural beings, such as angels, devils, demons or witches, either. In fact, most atheists do not believe there is a supernatural realm.
_
2. If atheists do not believe in God what do they believe in?
You do not HAVE to believe in anything to be an atheist but, like me, most believe they exist, the universe exists, life exists, natural laws exist and many other things too. I believe we can understand the universe by studying it and the scientific method is easily the best method so far available for doing that.
I, personally also believe, by understanding humans, we can discover what is moral and what is not. I believe in freedom of speech and conscience and the rights enshrined in the UN Charter of Human Rights.
_
3. How can you be an atheist if you cannot prove God does not exist?
Most atheists, like me, do not say God does not exist. Rather we say the gods we hear about are not believable because those who do believe in them cannot show that they are real--people just believe on faith.
In this respect, believers are similar to atheists because believers reject as fiction thousands of gods they were not brought up to believe in.
I am open to reason though. If you can show your god exists, I will believe it. It's just that I want to believe only things that are true.
_
4. But if you don't believe God exists, you must believe he does NOT exist.
Not so. If I tell you I was born on a weekday but refuse to reveal my date of birth, you should not believe me. But that does NOT mean you must believe I was born on a weekend. The exact same logic works for the existence of a god.
_
5. If God doesn't exist how did you come about?
I think we all know how I came about! But, if you mean how did humans come about, I don't know exactly. Nor do I need to know in order to be an atheist. Just because I don't yet know how humans came to be, does not mean the god written about by the ancient Hebrews must have made us. After all, we might have been made by another god, a team of gods or by a natural process with no gods involved.
Remember, the Norsemen did not understand where thunder came from so they explained it by saying it was their God Thor striking his anvil. When you say you don't know where humans came from therefore they must have been created by the Hebrew god, you are making the exact same mistake.
I don't know exactly how humans came about but we do have a lot of evidence. This evidence is not yet enough to explain in precise detail how we came about but it IS enough to show that the story of human creation in the Bible cannot be true.
_
6. Humans are amazingly complex. They cannot have come about by chance. They must have had an intelligent designer.
When you say humans cannot have come about by chance, you are telling us how you feel, not what you know. Scientists who have studied nature in great detail conclude it is probable that human beings did arise from natural processes.
But, let's be hyper-sceptical and say we don't believe in these natural processes. That's fine, but you still can't say we will NEVER discover some natural processes that resulted in humans. What will we know in 100 or 1,000 years from now? I can't say and nor can you. We have to remain open-minded, so it is much too soon to conclude humans were the result of supernatural intervention.
I don't want to be wrong, do you?

ISLAM AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

Quran 4:34
''Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has made one of them to EXCEL the other, and because they spend to support them from their means. Therefore, the righteous women are devoutly obedient to Allah and to their husbands, and guard in the husband's absence what Allah orders them to guard.
As to those women on whose part you see ill-conduct, ADMONISH THEM FIRST, next, REFUSE TO SHARE THEIR BEDS, last, BEAT THEM. But if they return to obedience, seek not against them means of annoyance.''

Quick question: What qualify as ill-conduct?
