Politics › Re: Tinubu Approves Production Tax Credit To Fast-Track Shell’s $20 Billion FID by JoshTim: 5:00pm On Apr 10 |
This is a deep sea oil exploration project and government is supporting this initiative with tax credit, so instead of shell paying their oil tax, they channel it into this project. The result will be government issuing oil mining license thereby increasing our daily and monthly oil production. Through this, we will be able to fund our budget which is pegged at 1680million barrels per day....and if this Iran war extends, we can take advantage of the high crude oil price. |

Even if local and government owned refineries are working 100%, fuel would still have sold at same price it is currently selling. Subsidy removal means oil business is now subject to market forces. If subsidy, then how do we deal with smuggling and over-inflating subsidy amounts? |

Lol, we knew it will worsen.
You should ask why the CBN intervened at such a time?...
The reason is that, CBN helped MTN and other strategic companies in Nigeria to strengthen the naira creating a temporary surplus through dollar injection into the FX market.
So, through this, MTN is able to pay off some of it's FX denominated liabilities at a reduced price. |
