AS the ban on the operation of
motorcycles, popularly called
‘Okada’ takes off tomorrow in
other parts of Ethiope East
Local Government Area of the
state, the Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan
will today present tricycles as
well as commuter buses to the
Delta State University, Abraka
community to further cushion
the effect of the ban. Hon. Benson Igbakpa, State
Commissioner for Transport,
who dropped the hint
yesterday while addressing the

noted that while the tricycles would be presented to the
University Community free of
charge, the commuter buses
would be part of the state
government- assisted
transport scheme. He, however, explained that
the commuter buses would be
given out at highly subsidized
rates. “Since the pronouncement by
the state government banning
the use of okada in the area,
the state government has so
far deployed more than 30
tricycles to interested operators and now in his usual
magnanimity, Governor
Uduaghan will tomorrow
(today) personally donate
some tricycles free of charge to
the University authority to manage” He said, “I wish to state here
categorically that aside the
tricycles, the state government
will also present some
commuter buses to the
University community, but the buses are not for free, it is still
part of our state government-
assisted mass transit scheme,”

commending the state
governor, Dr. Uduaghan for his
quick intervention in stemming the recent tide of
criminality in the area, which
he said necessitated the ban on

Am a fan of short threads,so here we go. Delta State University,popularly known as DELSU,is having her 21st matriculation ceremony 2day. The university was founded in 1992,with 3 campuses at Asaba,Oleh and Abraka. The ceremony will begin by cutting the "tail" of the freshers (100level) at there various hostels,with both clean and dirty water. I don't have any pix yet. Because as God may have it,we don't have any fresher in my hostel. But plz,if u do,share with us. Wishing my fellow Delsuite,a HAPPY AND PEACEFUL MATRICULATION!!! #flex responsibly#
