You have a heart of pure gold and for this beautiful act, may God bless and enlarge your coast, may all your dreams and aspirations be met. Please whoever is a beneficiary of his kindness should pass it on to others, that way our society will be a better place. Hello @Patricktoks, I have a word of advise for you, sir. If you are interested in pursuing a PhD abroad, specifically the USA, your B.Sc, Masters and experience in Animal Science would be better appreciated and utilized. You would have a full ride scholarship that comes in form of Graduate Teaching Assistantship or Research Assistanship and you would be paid a monthly stipend that would take care of your living expenses, with some little savings if you are that prudent. You could follow this thread; https://www.nairaland.com/5233208/general-usa-student-visa-enquiries-part, ask questions and you will be good to go. If you are sincerely interested, I could pay for your GRE and TOEFL exams, if money to register for these two important exams is the problem.I would also personally recommend some schools for you, and guide you in case you need specific information at every step. Let me know your thought concerning this. Please, note, I'm not an agent, and I've got no ulterior motive behind rendering this assistance(if you choose to accept). I 'm simply a young Nigerian who has followed this part too, and still hoping for the best in life. [/quote] 1 Like |

Assuming one of the parent is a guarantor, you do not require the State of Origin Certificate for the children, but since the whole family is going for renewal/fresh passport, then y'all need the Certificate. delight71: |

RandomGuy000: Please ask your friend to do it the official way in Abuja, the enhanced passport's official price is N25,000 + N1,000 application processing fee (only the old passport cost N17,000 and booklet is scarce), the process if seamless if he can do it all by himself, just make sure all requested supporting documentation are complete. What most people don't realise is that they give more priority to you if you process it yourself than using the Immigration Officials and paying exorbitant prices to them, the officers will give you reasons why you shouldn't do it yourself because of their greed. I will encourage you to do it yourself. |

Debuyima:If you're applying in Ikoyi or Abuja passport office, the official price is 25k + 1k transaction fee using a Visa card or N500 if it's payment through the bank due to the fact that they issue the new Enhanced Passport. Other passport offices are still using the old passport in the sum of 17k. It is advisable to get the new enhanced passport. |

My experience at the Ikoyi passport office on 5th of March, 2020 I wanted to renew my passport and my Dad wants to get a fresh passport. I asked a man filing my company's returns if I should be able to do it myself but might need his help in case I got stuck (he has an office in the Passport office). He responded that I was on my own o, he has no help to render, that if I can't use the services of an Immigration officials like I have been doing in the past, then I should face its consequences should in case it arise. I now requested that he should give me a contact person; the person charged me N40,000 and according to him that's the 'best and reasonable' price he can go for considering the man who introduced me . Again I contacted another Immigration official from my school's alumni group and he charged me N40,000, according to him that is the best price he can offer and that is even because I am his classmate while in the Uni ; . I was now crossed between doing it myself or going through these 'greedy' officials that masquerade themselves as my 'friend'. Then I make my inquiry from this great forum. I read through people's experiences from when this thread opened, because I was determined to learn from others. The inspiration of people who gave their testimonies encouraged me to do it all by myself and save some bucks, considering that we are two applicants; myself and Dad. I sum up the courage and paid online N25,000 + N1,000 service charge (using Visa card). Payment was made on 3rd of March, 2020, interview date given was 2nd of April, 2020 (the date is not strictly followed, as you can pay same day and get captured the same day). We were to go for capturing the following day, but Guarantor's part for my Dad needs to be taken into consideration. I printed a Guarantor's form, gave my colleague to fill with her passport photograph, photocopy of her passport data page and Driver's licence. On 4th of March, 2020, we got it stamped at the Magistrate court. On the 5th of March, 2020 we set up early for the interview/capturing, I collected the form from the pleasant lady at the Servicom desk, made photocopies of it and wrote my application letter. I gave her all the requirements, she opened a file for Dad and I (fresh and renewal), signed her part and wrote on the brown file all other offices that needs to stamp our documents. It is imperative to mention here that our files was the only brown file out of all the applicants on that fateful day. All other files which were opened by an Agent (Immigration Officials) for their respective Clients were in colour white. I went as she has instructed. Lo and behold the officials signing the files gave my file more attention than that of their colleagues'. I must state unequivocally that the process was swift. We were on queue to capture, but an official on sighting my Dad due to age ask him to leave the queue and requested he capture immediately, we went inside the capturing hall and got captured. We went back to the Servicom lady to submit our files and left the Ikoyi Passport office around 1.35 pm. Thanks to Nairalanders that contributed one way or the other on this thread. I promise to give back by enlightening all others in need of clarifications on grey areas at no cost. Feel free to ask your question on this forum and I will respond to it so that others too can benefit from it. It pays off to Do It Youself!!! 10 Likes |

You can go and capture at anytime, the date given for interview is not strictly adhered to. I paid on the 3rd of March, 2020 and was given the 2nd of April 2020 as my interview date. I went there yesterday and was captured (self processing). What you need to take along is: 1. Expired passport (original for sighting and photocopy) 2. NIN slip (original for sighting and photocopy) 3. 2 passport photographs 4. Print out application form and receipt Approach the Servicom lady, she will give you a form to fill (make photocopy of the form before filling), you will also write an application letter (the format is pasted there). Once you have all this, she will list out all the offices you will go to for stamp and signatures, it was so fast and seamless. cremeandchic: 3 Likes |

Politics / Muammar Gaddafi Killed In Gun Battle by Jossy4u1: 2:07pm On Oct 20, 2011 |
(Reuters) - Former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi died of wounds suffered on Thursday as fighters battling to complete an eight-month-old uprising against his rule overran his hometown Sirte, Libya's interim rulers said. His killing, which came swiftly after his capture near Sirte, is the most dramatic single development in the Arab Spring revolts that have unseated rulers in Egypt and Tunisia and threatened the grip on power of the leaders of Syria and Yemen. "He (Gaddafi) was also hit in his head," National Transitional Council official Abdel Majid Mlegta told Reuters. "There was a lot of firing against his group and he died." Mlegta told Reuters earlier that Gaddafi, who was in his late 60s, was captured and wounded in both legs at dawn on Thursday as he tried to flee in a convoy which NATO warplanes attacked. He said he had been taken away by an ambulance. There was no independent confirmation of his remarks. An anti-Gaddafi fighter said Gaddafi had been found hiding in a hole in the ground and had said "Don't shoot, don't shoot" to the men who grabbed him. His capture followed within minutes of the fall of Sirte, a development that extinguished the last significant resistance by forces loyal to the deposed leader. The capture of Sirte and the death of Gaddafi means Libya's ruling NTC should now begin the task of forging a new democratic system which it had said it would get under way after the city, built as a showpiece for Gaddafi's rule, had fallen. Gaddafi, wanted by the International Criminal Court on charges of ordering the killing of civilians, was toppled by rebel forces on August 23 after 42 years of one-man rule over the oil-producing North African state. NTC fighters hoisted the red, black and green national flag above a large utilities building in the center of a newly-captured Sirte neighborhood and celebratory gunfire broke out among their ecstatic and relieved comrades. Hundreds of NTC troops had surrounded the Mediterranean coastal town for weeks in a chaotic struggle that killed and wounded scores of the besieging forces and an unknown number of defenders. NTC fighters said there were a large number of corpses inside the last redoubts of the Gaddafi troops. It was not immediately possible to verify that information. |
Politics / Court Nullifies LASTMA Powers To Impose Fine On Offenders by Jossy4u1: 1:20pm On Sep 22, 2011 |
LASTMA Cant impose fine on offenders -court A Federal High Court in Lagos has voided some sections of the law establishing the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA). Justice Okon Abang, in a judgment, declared that Sections 9, 11, 12 and 13 of the law establishing LASTMA is unconstitutional and of no effect on the grounds that it contravenes Section 36 of the Constitution, which guarantee every citizen’s right to fair hearing. The court upheld LASTMA’s power to arrest traffic offenders, but held that it lacks the powers to impose fine on such offenders. It added that the power to impose fine on anybody who contravenes an existing law resides only with the court. The court held that the imposition of fine on any traffic offender by LASTMA amounted to being a judge in its own cause. “Section 9, 11, 12, and 13 of the law establishing LASTMA is unconstitutional. It is against the spirit of the Section 36 of the Constitution, which gives right of fair hearing to every Nigerian. Moreover, that would amount to being a judge in your own cause,” the court held. It awarded N500,000 damages against LASTMA. A Lagos resident, Jonathan Odutola, whose car was impounded in March and compelled to pay a fine instituted the suit. He said his car developed some mechanical problems on the Third Mainland Bridge and stopped, and that in an effort to ensure that the car did not obstruct traffic, he immediately called a towing-van which towed the vehicle completely out of the road. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/09/lastma-cant-impose-fine-on-traffic-offenders-court/ |

If this T.B Joshua can aknowledge and heal in Jesus's name and whoever he's healing has the faith that God his indeed the ultimate healer, then he will be healed. I want you to confirm it in the bible, book of Mark 9:38-41 Whoever Is Not Against Us Is for Us ( 38"Teacher," said John, "we saw a man driving out demons in your name and we told him to stop, because he was not one of us." 39"Do not stop him," Jesus said. "No one who does a miracle in my name can in the next moment say anything bad about me, 40for whoever is not against us is for us. 41I tell you the truth, anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to Christ will certainly not lose his reward.) P.S: I belong to the catholic faith and read the word of God daily |
