I am okay with the Foreign borns playing for us. It is their right if they want to play for us. I am against trying to convince a player who wants to play for another country to play for us.

I read with all passion every write up that we have written with respect to foreign born players and where their allegiance lie. And here is what I have to say about it.

I am going to agree with Safarigal on this one where she said begging these kids to play for us is pathetic to say the least. In a country of 170million people, we want to say there are no better players than these londoners. Of course, to an extent, we know that Versace and Gucci are top brands, but do you also know that it is the value we place on Ankara that it will have in the eyes of the world? We despise the people we have in the country simply to accomodate foreign borns. Its so excruciatingly annoying in the way we even go about it. Okocha the legend was discovered here in Nigeria, so was Kanu Nwankwo, what happened to our scouting department, youth development?

Going over to these foreign borns, racism is rife all over the world. We live in a world where a white person believes its their right which they earned to be in any and every setup, call the shots and feel better than a black contemporary and this is practically everywhere. We cant wish it away. England for instance will forever be loyal to their own. First of all white, then english born before they start considering you as a black Nigerian born UK resident. This is not gonna change any time soon. I have experienced racism first hand. England can never convince me that they will use Jordon "Hibe" as one of their players for more than 3 competitive games which he would be lucky to get even a cameo of 5 mins in. Here we are trying to reach some players and they say stuff like they dont feel Nigerian. So when the chips are now down, they suddenly make U turn. What has become of Mr Hibe now? Agbonlahor nko? What of uncle John Fashanu? Ameobi ? Thank God for Keshi. Although I dont know what that stunt of inviting Ameobi to 2014 WC was about cos to me that was a waste of slot. When Ameobi was on fire, how many games did he play for England? His whole essence died with newcastle and thats all we would ever remember him for. Scoring for his local club. No international soccer experience!

We make all the noise of at least half the England U17 /20 team made up of nigerian borns. I tell you they are all just a means to an end. No more no less. Quote me today and lets see how many more will make the senior National team in 5 years time. We will see all the Seyi Ojos, Ovie Ejarias, Solankes, Onomahs and we will see how far they go. Its a matter of time, juat pray Dele Alli doesnt hit a rough patch and that they dont change their National team coach to one old racist hag. Thats when the fade begins.
While i dont have anything against inviting foreign borns, lets not make it look like they are the best thing that ever happened to our football. For you to want to play for Nigeria, u have to feel like a Nigerian, bleed Nigerian, sleep Nigerian and eat nigerian. Enough of these hopeless people that think they have a future with England or other countries when they are offered to come play for Naija. Whether Ruben Agboola went to the world cup or not, he is in the annals of our history as one of the best right back we had at least in the early 90s. Victor Moses played in England u21 but today he is known because of Nigeria and not the other way round.

They need Nigeria more than Nigeria needs them. A word is enough for the wise..... Let him that hath an ear......

Having played through the ranks of the youth teams in England you think he never fancied his chances with the Three Lions? And why was he reluctant (according to his father) to come to Nigeria upon his invitation.

the truth is rohr is more of a man manager than being technically gifted...so I don't expect him coming up with such changes as seen above....

he is a coach I see to have earn the respect of the players over a short space of time...
Aina performance against Algeria will go tell if he will definitely be rohr first choice as far as the LB is concerned.....also for now I see shehu as one that will get to feature in that match....for ebuehi maybe in one of the friendlies he will get to play...
to be honest the young lad ruin his chances...I really believe he would have get to play against Algeria in uyo had it been he snubbed Nigeria at first...
then shehu had not lay hold on the RB slotid you remember...ndidi played that role against Zambia...

I just pray the coach loosen up on his conservative approach to football prior the World cup...because Nigeria really have the squad to shock the World...come next year.

Do you know what this means: perception is reality? Even in Nigeria here people are dealing with wrong perceptions, which they see as their reality, with stereotypes you are now talking about somebody born in the UK who possibly has no connection with Nigeria other than ancestral ties. The 21-year-old, however, switched his allegiance to Nigeria snubbing last-minute pressure from England.
According to the Arsenal star, the way he was treated by the Nigerian football world influenced his decision to play for his country of birth.

“Originally I’m from Nigeria. I always felt comfortable there. It was a hard decision because I’d played for England but I felt more at home there,” Iwobi told Daily Cannon.

”As I was about to play my first match (for Nigeria) Roy Hodgson was in contact with Arsenal saying they’d like me to get involved with the U-21s but my mind was made up. It’s my decision.”
Iwobi has gone to made 10 caps for the Super Eagles and has become one of their most exciting players.
His only goal for the Super Eagles of Nigeria, came in their impressive 2-1 away win at Zambia in a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
