The P0016 code is related to a timing issue. If I may ask, did you recently work on your car engine? |
quam9997:The code is related to your evap. As you have pointed out that your filler cap (fuel cap) is bad, you need to first change it before you go on with any other diagnosis as regarding your evap system. If the filler cap is not well tightened, it will trigger that code. When you replace the filler cap to a good one and the problem still persist, you can let me know. |
Corrosion on battery terminal head can be caused by quite a number of things. It can be as a result of leaking electrolyte from the terminals or under charging or overcharging among others. However, if I may ask, on which battery terminal did you notice the corrosion? Also, do you have any problem starting the car? Here is a suggestion. Have your technician clean up corrosion and then apply a dielectric grease if possible to the battery terminals before reconnection. Most times, in the absence of dielectric grease, I have seen technicians use the grease meant for shaft to solve this problem; and it worked! However, please ensure you carry out a charging test on your car so as ensure that the car is not undercharging/overcharging. |
The two codes actually signify that something is wrong with your cooling system. As for the P0128 code, you already confirmed that the thermostat has been removed; and this code relates to the thermostat. If you plug in an OBD II scanner that can do a live data analysis, you'll see that the temperature does not reach 75 degrees Celsius (167 degrees Fahrenheit). Also you'll see that your temperature guage barely gets to the middle. Also, I'm sure the fan has been bye passed and it's running directly. All these contributed to your car not reaching the optimum temperature it is designed to operate. To solve this code, you'll need to install your thermostat back. However, before you do that, kindly perform a coolant pressure test and also, bench test the thermostat to be used. This is necessary so as to avoid overheating. As for the P0116 code, it's related to your Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (ECTs) (what the rewires popularly call cold start). Most likely since this code is not accompanied with a P0115, P0117, P0118 code, then the probability is high that the ECTs is faulty. However, before you conclude, you can have your technician bench test your ECTs. The resistance values at varying temperature degree should be recorded and compared to a known good or acceptable data. If there is a deviation, change your ECTs. I'm finding it difficult to attach a picture that shows the graph of the resistance of ECTs versus temperature. I'll have helped you out with that data. PS: Kindly note that this solution is based on the codes you shared, if peradventure other accompanying codes pop up, there might be a little tweak to how you'll troubleshoot it. I hope this helps |

Please, who can recommend a good mechanic for me in ibadan? The mechanic must have a thorough knowledge on how to diagnose cars using modern day tools. Also, a competent Car AC repairer can be recommended. Thank you |
Tpound, I must really commend your effort for the past few days. You've been amazing. If there is anybody you can trust about helping you get a good car, then it should be Tpound. I'll like to give a breakdown of what transpired between Tpound and I so that those interested in buying a car can see reasons to contact him. As much as I loved to do legitimate online transaction with both known and unknown persons, I have decided that when it comes to buying a car, it will be offline and strictly with known persons. However, after seeing comments by some people that have patronized Tpound, I decided to follow suite; and to my surprise, he is so down to earth. He consulted for me, advised me and looked for the car for me. On getting there to check the car, my auto technician (mechanic) approved the car and we seal the deal. Thank you Tpound. |
I have been trying to make some findings about MCAT for quite a while now. There are no examination centres in Nigeria; apparently anybody residing in Nigeria and wishing to write the MCAT examination must be prepared to travel out of the country. Peradventure, do you know of any traveling agency or educational agency in Nigeria who can make the journey less stressful? |
Good day investors. |
When I was growing up, I have always asked myself, what will I do for my generation? And the answer I came up with is, 'that all may be learned and educated'. This has been my goal. This goal has been driving me to impact lives positively via my teachings and mentoring. Basically, I teach mathematics, further maths and physics for secondary school. For junior school, I teach maths, basic science and basic technology, computer science. For nursery and primary school, I teach maths, verbal and quantitative reasoning. Contact me if you need a home tutor for your ward in Akure and its environs. Thank you |
