FreeStuffsNG: It is most appalling that Nigerian youths, majority of whom I assume to be tech literate, let themselves get donkeyed by these make-believe. Please use the phone you are using right now to troll ppl and scroll pornhub, and go type Deepfake software/apps. There's a range of them now you can even use to create a conversation between your dad and his homo-buddy, just to show the world that your sire is gay. (Among other things you can try out of course). My point is, certain hoaxes that are supposed to be dead on arrival in other climes are media hot topics in Nigeria - a country where over 75% of youths have access to the internet on their palms! I stumbled upon Deepfake ® in like 2016 when it was a fun novelty on a subReddit ® . (Remember in January 1st of January, 2019 it was used to spread false propaganda which then led to an attempted coup detat in Ali Bongo's Gabon). Nigerians, pls stop this intellectual laziness, online trolling and porn addiction, and dare to use your Google more to educate yourself! Deepfake ® videos are pretty easy to spot if you have a trained eye. Audios are harder and that is why it is in vogue as often used by rogues to spread disinformation. If I were interested, I could make one in which the said "journalists" & "aides" that "leaked" those tapes have a "phone" conversation with each other about any effing thing I choose. But I lack the balls to fool myself in order to make temporary headlines. So unless the sources of all those .files are authenticated by the prevailing gsm networks in court, ignore it. I believe PO will get a court order to force the gsm networks to provide both the audio and the transcript for the alleged conversation. *Yes, my reference to internet porn is because it is the most searched Google hit in Nigeria, according to internet research pundits. ** I'm not a nairaland ® troll like most. I'm a real person. You can reach me if you put up the effort, and I'll be happy to demonstrate to you the various use of the Deepfake ® software. |

APC strategy is historically familiar. First, manufacture character assassinating material against your opponent, then proceed to call your opponent a bad name while garnering public hate against him. Finally, with the new found justification, you can proceed to arrest and disgracefully try him in a kangaroo court. Lol. APC hahahaha. Every tech savvy teen who knows his onions can use the voices of anyone they wish to manufacture an audio conversation. There are simple apps that do that. Lol. Heck even a video conversation can be manufactured to fool the gullible. Check out DEEPFAKE, among others |

Gamblingkills: I've been there before. Now I'm on recovery mode but my brain isn't what it used to be. I suffered prolonged acute depression for the period of 4 years. Meanwhile I always kept a wide smile on my face in order to mask it. I believed nobody would understand my peculiar situation. I'm now grateful I found help. It's a mental illness we all don't want to admit to. My only challenge is that it has affected my brain and memory, something like amnesia. I can't remember simple things easily; days become blurry as they pass by; details of encounters with family and friends easily slip my memory. I read online that it's the aftereffects of prolonged flooding of my brain with cortisol (the stress hormone). My health isn't as sound as it used to be. |
