NuCypher:I thought about writing a lengthy appropriate response to this, but ultimately decided you're not worth my time. "I understand that as a Nigerian..." really?? One can only wonder the type of shege Nigeria showed you before you left (you obviously still have PTSD). You don't seem to be able to have constructive arguments without resorting to insults, which is just appalling. I will not engage you further. Peace and love to you. |
Profgordons:Nah man this is too low! Haba |

Bro no need for the strong language. Shey he/she has thick skin na, no wahala, lol. Life has a way of humbling people sooner or later. |
NuCypher:Mehn whoever you are, all I can say is I sincerely pray you get to experience more love and kindness from others. You seem to need plenty of it! |
NuCypher:Simple logical reasoning would have prevented coming up with such a response. When a person puts in for something that averagely takes most people 4-6 weeks to get and has to wait more than double the time without any explanation(s) as to why there's a delay, it's only natural to get a bit uneasy. I've been in that position and the most difficult part is not having a clue about what exactly the problem is. If you don't have a solution to his predicament then just keep mum instead of spreading your apparent bitterness. |
Snolw:Don't worry, it'll be updated. Mine got updated 8 days after enrollment. Cheers! |
Ifakiland:It was the normal webform. A link specific for Accra VO was quoted in my ADR, so I just copied and pasted in my browser; but it was the same regular ircc webform. |
Brownmannie:Bro I don't think there's any need to 'escalate' or get so worked up; trust me I've been there. I didn't get counterfoil update till around 8 weeks after submission. Sent several emails/webforms but got no response. Just try to take your mind off it and start focusing on other things that'll make it easier for you to settle in the new land (for me it was Coursera, general research about job prospects in my desired fields, amongst other things). If you're a man of faith, don't forget prayer too! Hang tight, it will come eventually💯 |
jayF19:Congrats 🎉 |
icelog:I submitted to VFS Lagos and it took 9 weeks to get my passport back. I've heard Kenya is quite fast. |
Jenykech:Still wondering too o! It was crazy, but God pass dem. Thanks👍🏽 |
Odegaard:Got the notification on Friday and went to vfs the following Tuesday. |
jayF19:Yes, visa was issued at Accra. Your counterfoil update was earlier than mine, so i think you can expect to receive passport pickup notification any moment now. Have you been getting updates from vfs? |
Long post ‼️ ‼️ Profile *Two or more degrees *IELTS - L8.5 R9 S8 W7.5 (Dec 2022 first and only attempt) *Sibling in 🇨🇦 *Combined 2 NOCs *Entered pool Dec 2022 with CRS 489 Timeline *ITA - 23rd March 2023 *AOR - 24th April 2023 *MEP/BIL/UCI - 5th May 2023 *GU1(gckey) - 8th May 2023 *Biometrics (VFS Lagos) - 11th May 2023 (got a bit worried at this stage because my biometric data/info wasn't updated in GCkey or tracker; later got updated/completed on May 19, but date still registered as 11th May) *Eligibility in progress on tracker - 31st May 2023 *GU2(gckey) - 3rd June 2023 *BGC/Eligibility completed - 5th June 2023 *RFV - 6th June 2023 *Passport submitted - 23rd June (sent to VFS Lagos via courier. Dispatched to IRCC office same day). **Unexpected event. Received an email update on 11th July and rushed to gckey hoping to see counterfoil; lo and behold, it was an ADR for passport photographs. Apparently my photos got missing somewhere between vfs and ircc (up till now I still don't understand how this happened). Contacted vfs to find out how my photos got missing and what i should do next; they provided zero explanations and the CS rep I spoke with said they don't accept any submission(s) apart from international passports. I was so confused and perplexed at this point. I searched and searched online hoping to see info from anyone who had experienced something similar; thankfully i found a nairaland post of someone who went through the exact same thing last year. Long story short, I later sent my photos directly to ircc via DHL.** --radio silence-- --plenty webforms/emails plus intense prayer-- *GU3(tracker) - 11th August 2023 *GU4(tracker) - 14th August 2023 *Counterfoil - 16th August 2023 *Passport collected with visa and copr docs - 29th August 2023 Docs submitted *Work ref letter, Work ID, Employment/Promotion letters *ECA, IELTS, Degree certificates *Bank ref letter and letter of non-indebtedness *6 months bank statement *Gift deed for POF, plus transfer receipt *Docs for sibling points (PR card, utility bills, lease agreement, NPC birth certificates showing parents names) *Upfront medical slip (QLife) *PCC *NYSC cert (added this just to put my mind at ease, lol) *LOE for source of funds and another for previous Schengen visa refusal The devil tried but God prevailed as always. To anyone else who's going through challenges/difficulties in this journey, just surrender all to God (and please do your due diligence too). This PR journey has been known to offer unlimited subscription of sleepless nights lol; you just never know what to expect! But once you involve God in your matter and let Him lead, you can be sure it will always end in praise! To God be the glory for everything! |
