I think the stocks to look out for are those that will be releasing results immediately after the election - especially the ones with good dividend yield or good bonus. That is where the bull is likely to break out from.
How can we know those ones please? i requested a message from you, check your email please so also to Chibuking

Qualification date for AFRIPRUD was yesterday, 17th March, 2015. If you didn't own the shares at the end of yesterday, you shouldn't get the dividend.
since it takes 3 days for a stock you bought to drop in your account, let's say you buy the shares before the end of yesterday 17th as the case maybe and it still showing pending in your stock position, will you still get the dividend ? Please pardon my questions, am learning. Thanks guys

My 2cent info @all referencing father of 2 and debenzd feb 28, 2008. For those who have issues with cico, jijo, gigo, riro etc. Try to read father of 2 threads. He has a lot of info there. He never buys when the stocks are expensive, he always circles out to cheaper stocks or waits till the price has dropped to levels lower than what he originally bought, when he positions for 9 months, he stays there till the end of the year is over. There is no sentiment about any stock. In between he takes out only the profit to invest in other stocks. The reason being that there may still be profit to be made from such stocks. In addition, the time frame is usually 0 - 3 months and anything in between . He is always willing to wait it out till he has reached his target. To all newbies do your research on father of 2. Bye bye
where can we read about the father of 2 becos the thread doesn't seem to exist here on NL

I will advice you start using one of the online trading platforms directly linked to NSE (eg meritrade and itrade) where you can buy and sell your shares realtime. Some stockbrokers still play hanky panky with investors' money.

I use meritrade and I am very impressed with them. You can monitor stocks by yourself, place orders without human intervention etc. You can also place an order and get your trade notification in seconds. Shares are also directly linked to your CSCS account so even if your broker collapses any time, your shares are fully secured, no story. So act fast.
thank you for your response, I looked up meritrade website and I saw minimum amount to open with is 50k, my question is can I still use that money and buy stocks?

@Jsmile; Hold your 150k tight. Watch a little more. Why Wapic, IEI, Unity and Union Bank? I actually have all 4 in my portfolio but I think they were poor investment decisions and they haven't offered much in terms of appreciation. Now waiting to offload at a good price which is yet to materialise. I would suggest you increase your stake in the stocks in your portfolio already save Japaul.
Thank you brother

@bolded, that was a funny one sha.

The Registrars pays the dividends, not the broking firm. It is advisable to mandate your account with the Registrars by filling their e-dividend form for directing crediting to your bank account.
Funny truly, pardon my novice attitude, anyways that was helpful, thanks so much

Can HND graduate apply for d category A or which category is most appropriate for HND holders?
HND holders can't apply for category A and if you use HND and apply for category B, you are humbly accepting under employment. its really gonna be difficult for your to cross over to superintendent cadre using HND, you will be channeled to what is called inspectorate cadre. you will need to enroll again for bsc to enjoy the full status of a cadet officer.
