LordReed: So you mean a heterosexual person can become gay? Is it magic? The point is that God is not homophobic as no sin is greater or smaller than another. All unrighteousness is a sin unto God scripture made us to understand in 1 John 5:17a. However, it is possible for someone who is sexually expressing himself with same sex to actually stop doing so and serve God with their bodies. To some the same sex attraction may still be there, to others, in the process of time, it may stop. Our bodies scripture tells us is Gods temple and what we are asking is for is to honour God with our lives and not pervert ourselves with homosexual relationships. |

Jsmile: Later that evening at my veranda I tried to kiss him, he pushed me off that he doesn't do that again, i felt that was a joke and relaxed. but later in the night as usual I tried to touch him, he kept resisting me and taking my hands of him, he threatened to leave the bed for me and actually did, he went and lie on the floor, at that point I pinched myself on how Stanley was able to resist me, I kept on wondering what happened to him, I couldn't sleep again the whole night, I was just saying within myself that whatever Stanley has found that I needed that too. I was just sitting there and watching him sleep till day was about breaking and I woke him up. I started asking questions, that was how he told me his salvation experience, preached to me and ministered Christ, I felt so broken(will never forget that day *sobs*) , when he was done praying for me, he advice I go to a bible believing church where I can grow spiritually and he suggested a ministry in awka anambra state(which was where I based then) called Love Ambassadors Ministry (LAM). I later left the ministry though few months later for personal reasons, and started worshipping at RCCG and by Gods mercies and grace a Sunday school teacher there till date
It was such a wonderful experience as I began to get closer to God, having a personal understanding of the word of God as i study, living a fasting and prayer life. I even testified in the church I was a bisexual.
I actually had things to do with some girls intimately but I knew I was much into guys and felt more attracted to guys than girls. did girls just to cover up my so called smartness.
I thank God that after the unfortunate exposure to bisexual life, porn(both gay porn and normal porn), scam, bribery, lies, cheating, drug life (marijuana, alcohol, solution and cigarette), I wasn't just saved from all of that but he also made me an able minister of the gospel to the glory of his name. I thank God though for not allowing me to die with it or get any deadly disease from it. I actually know of people that have died in it (even someone i have had something to do with personally)-only God knows what's killing them, and two of my friends I have had something to do with intimately are still HIV+(one of which I only did something with once, the day I slept with him I wanted to do it unprotected and he requested I use a condom which I did(do you see how the mercies of God in action because that would have been the day he would have transfered the HIV to me),been counselling and praying along with them that God heals them completely) they actually opened up to me on their HIV status.
God can still do it for you my brother/sister struggling with such. His grace has actually kept you till now irrespective all we did to save us. Please don't look down on this grace. If he can do it for me, he is still your Father and the same yesterday, today and forever more, so he can do it for you as well.
By his grace I don't have such desires or urge anymore, living my normal life and having a constant fellowship with God. One thing must occupy a man, it's either you are hot for God or you are cold. He doesn't like lukewarms because it doesn't exist. Revelation 3:15-16 "I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth."
Titus 2:11-12 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age,
John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Jesus saves..... Please if you have any question you can ask. no hate comments please.

immortalcrown: I don't mean to insult you. Your problem is you have the strength to type long sentences but you lack wisdom and understanding. I simply told you that those people understand the Bible and know the truth you think they don't know. That they just choose to live against the truth does not mean they don't know the truth. Simple. This is simply differences in perspective. However, I believe what can send one free is not just merely reading about the truth but experiencing the truth. I thinks this is what we all need, to have a genuine encounter with Jesus Christ the truth. Knowing is beyond just a head knowledge, It's an intimacy. The Lord knows those LovePeddler are genuine in their seeking for the truth and want to experience Him. By experience I know it's not just a easy thing to be set free from such a life, but it's not impossible for God to do. No be witchcraft be this? I think my write up is clear enough. However to buttress further, God's plan for creating man was for Him to have His abode in man, and God's uncreated kind of life was represented to a Adam in tree called the tree of life which Adam was supposed to wilfully eat from. Adam didn't attain to the plan of God in the project man, and at his fallen state, he went ahead to reproduce and all the descendants from Adam were made in Adams image and not God's image, hence the need to be changed into His image and likeness according to His original plan. It's a choice facing all of us my friend and I wish you believe and accept it. |

You think they have not read those Bible verses? Reading is different from understand and experiencing what you read my friend. One of the tricks of the devil is to make one ever learning without coming to the knowledge of the truth, but according to God's words, it His desire to have us saved and changed into His likeness. "Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth." Perhaps I may have been reading those passages previously but God still helped me and is still helping me to experience these realities and possibilities in Him. |

"And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness"
The above statement has always been the intention of God for man and He is committed to actualizing it in our lives if we will allow Him to do so. The kind of man He wants every man to be like has been modelled in Jesus Christ. The seed principle states that every seed reproduces according to it's kind.
What and who we turn to in discovering ourselves and the truth about our identity is of utmost importance because words has creative abilities.
There are several orientation/school of thought out there concerning our identity but I have come to understand that none of it can ever change God's position on us; man is a disoriented beign.
Societal acceptance of this movement can not negate the need for us to be changed truly in His image and likeness.
"For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son" Romans 8:29a
This is not a matter of two consenting adults living together to do what they like but about the need for us to open our hearts in humility for our Lord Jesus Christ to come in and change us in His image. Until our minds have been renewed we can never see anything wrong in whatever we are doing or proposing.
"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." Romans 12:2.
His word made alive in our hearts by the Holy Spirit is the agency for this amazing transformation. It is a glorious thing to bear the true image of God. The door for such a wonderful transformation is open to all of us.
It is understandable we were all born this way or discovered this perverse possibilities in us, but it is not understandable that we never believed into the gospel of His Son and exchanged what we are to all that He is which have been made possible in Christ Jesus. |
Christianity Etc › Not A Slave But A Son. by Jsmile(op): 4:43pm On Nov 22, 2022 |
One major thing that Adams disobedience brought to the entirety of human race was that it made it possible for man to be perpetually a slave to sin through the sin nature we inherited from him.
It is worrisome to know that we don't have to live in sin before we are called a sinner. We are sinners by nature whether we live sinfully or not. Understanding of this truth will make us appreciate the salvation plan of God through Jesus Christ.
King David the psalmist understood this truth to an extent and he made a prayer worth considering while he was repenting of his sin to God.
"I have been evil from the day I was born; from the time I was conceived, I have been sinful." Psalm 51:5.
The sin nature we were all born with can express itself in so many sinful ways and we don't need to look far around us to notice it. The list of it's manifestations are endless.
However, since it was never intended man to function or live this way, through the death, burial resurrection and ascension of Jesus Chris, God made redemption possible for all.
The beauty of this redemptive work of Jesus Christ on the cross is that He paid the price for our forgiveness and restoration, destroyed the power of our slave master satan and we that were bound in sin was set free from same.
For he that is dead is freed from sin. Romans 6:7
Jesus didn't just make it possible for man to be set free from sin, He also destroyed the sinful nature we inherited in Adam, so that His life in us will make it possible for us to have a new nature called the divine nature.
"Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires." 2 Peter 1:4
We know that somehow because of our past experiences and the formation of old habits and thoughts that have been programmed in us, it's somewhat difficult to some of us to walk in the newness of life in Christ even after surrendering to Jesus. The truth is that It maybe difficult, but it's not impossible. For with God all things are possible. We pray daily that the Spirit of God will empower us to pursue all that He has purchased for us and to experience same in our lives.
Understanding who we ought to be in the light of our sonship as God intended, should bring us to seeking God on a daily to exchange all that we are (sinful and sinner) to a that He is, Holy and righteous. Let's not just claim it in words but to experience it in reality.
Truly, we are not supposed to be a slave to anything that contradicts the life, nature and character of God as expressed in His Son Jesus Christ, we are to be sons indeed and suppose to live as such. This kind of living is made possible only as we turn to Jesus Christ.
Here come the big question: Are we sons or slave?
NB: The kind of life we live today is an expression of the image and likeness of who and what we are and not what we claim. Selah. |

MuttleyLaff: Have a blast
Peter, Barnabas and Paul actually said: "We too are only men, human like you," that they are human beings just like you and I! Peter, Barnabas and Paul never had a chip on their shoulders nor thought too much of themselves than necessary. Never boasted about material wealth, never preached or taught imposed and/or obligatory ecclesiastical monitised tithe giving, never promoted and/or indulge in activities for pecuniary gain.
Which posters, who have you seen, who do you know, in and/or on here Nairaland, putting man, dead or alive, on a pedestal, hmm?
luvmijeje, respect is one of the greatest expresison of love and so, as for me, everyone, as an individual, whether Peter, Barnabas and Paul or Kamoru Obi Shehu, should be respected and definitely not idolised or put on a pedestal. I respect people for what and who they are, not for what I want them to be, same respect I give to that sharp blade on my knife sitting on my kitchen top, for what it is. It is a sharp knife.
luvmijeje, I dont know any perfect person. I, myself luvmijeje, I am made entirely of flaws. I am flawed and still worthy. Do you know that a diamond with a flaw is worth more than a pebble without imperfections?
Listen, I can assure you, and in fact, also can prove to you, that whatever your flaws are, if not engaged in hurting or used to harm another, is no where and not, criminalised in the Bible, not by Jesus and/or even not by Paul too.
If you're to look at lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender, as a flaw or weakness, then convert it, into a virtue or strength, by faithfully and devotedly have a lifetime lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender love with one person. After all, the ujnwachukwu of this world, ought to know that every human being is entitled to love another human being, be it a woman or a man, without prejudice, discrimination, feeling fear of life, restraint, social conditioning or obligation to conform.
To ujnwachukwu and the likes, respect other people's LGBT sexual orientation, even if you dont understand or it doesnt mean anything to you, it means a lot to them. Life Gets Better Together (LGBT), the moment we realise and recognise that every human being, regardless of sexual orientation leanings, deserves a safe and supportive environment to live in.
So to my dear fellow LGBTs, I say, accept your flaw, but at the same time, know your potential, to love. The love being in a two easy going, ordinary consenting adults, minding their own businesses enjoying a life long caring, faithful, committed, truthful, honest, loving each other, lasting that's a lifetime life-long and loyal same-sex relationship, that has no detriment to another person, no betrayal of another person, or no cheating on another person, and not harmful to an object or neighbour.
God has not given us a spirit of fear, cowardice and timidity, but of power, love, self-discipline, self-control, sound mind, sound judgement and wise discretion. Maybe no one has told you this truth before my friend, but i will have to tell you this today. What makes you a man created in the image and likeness of God is more inwardly than outwardly, as such, man is not a being of evolution, but a created, formed and made being. Never trample at what God wants to make out of your life. One of the major duties of man through God, as was neglected by first Adam was, for him to rule over the unruly lower nature, or what i call the beastly earth nature of man[The earth suit]. That is one of the main dominion mandate of your existence as God subjects you to the quality test for all that lies ahead of you in His divine purposes. If you can not rule over your members, including the means by which the sexual desires of that lower nature finds expression as God ordained it, there's nothing you can rule over spiritual speaking in the territory God planted you. Hope you believe man is a territorial being too? The composition of your lower nature that made you a legal earth being on planet earth was formed from the same dust like every other animal that exist upon planet earth today. You can call it terrestrial body. My friend, you have a choice to depend on God, your source and sustainer to live as he originally intended it in the Genesis 1&2 of creation by your soul will or you can choose to live the way it seems right to you and be identified with the perverseness that exists both in humans and animals till date which began in Genesis 3. |
