PoliticsGov. Fayose Distributes 80,000 Christmas Birds, 100,000 Bags Of Rice Plus Cash by jswags(op): 8:42am On Dec 21, 2014
Ekiti State governor, Mr Ayo Fayose,
yesterday, commenced the implementation
of his stomach infrastructure programme,
as he distributed no fewer than 80,000
birds, 100,000 bags of rice and cash gift to
the less privileged, widows and the aged in
the state.
According to a press statement by the Chief
Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Idowu
Adelusi, yesterday, the office of the governor
was besieged by the people who later went
back home with gifts.
Ekiti State Governor, Mr Peter Ayodele Fayose
distributing chicken, rice and money to the
widow and aged in Ado Ekiti yesterday for
the Christmas under the stomach
infrastructure programme of his
administration
According to the statement, some of the
elderly, who could not hide their joy at the
rare opportunity of having to celebrate the
season with the package, were full of
prayers for Fayose and members of his
cabinet.
Some of the beneficiaries had stormed the
office as early as 10am as the governor,
alongside members of his staff, started
distributing the package to the people who
kept appearing in their multitudes.
Some of the beneficiaries, including Mr
Jewoola from Ado-Ekiti, Mr Ife Akinyeye and
Mrs. Afolabi Mary, noted that the gesture
reaffirmed the governor as a grassroots
man.
They appreciated the governor for putting
himself in the shoes of the common man
who may find it difficult to prepare
sumptuous meal for his family at this period
of festivity.
The governor later moved to markets in the
state capital with same package for those
who could come to the Governor’s Office
with a promise that all the 16 local
governments had designated centres for the
distribution.
In a chat with journalists, Fayose stated that
his priority was the welfare of the people of
Ekiti who, “against all odds”, returned him
to office after eight years in a landslide
victory.

PoliticsNorthern Nigeria Vows To Vote Against Jonathan by jswags(op): 8:28am On Dec 21, 2014
Vanguard reports with reference to its
reliable sources that many northers
politicians are determined to support Buhari
so as to return power to them.
The Chairman of Arewa Consultative Forum
(ACF), Alhaji Ibrahim Coomassie, said that
power, next year, must shift to the North.
While President Goodluck Jonathan’s Senior
Special Assistant on Public Affairs, Dr Doyin
Okupe, expressed confidence that Nigerians
would not vote in 2015 on the basis of
ethnicity, Jonathan’s close confidant insisted
on the opposite.According to the source, who pleaded for
anonymity, since Buhari’s emerged the
“entire North” was to stand by the side of
the ex military Head of State.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senior
said that Jonathan’s supporters in the
region are already receiving threatening
messages.
“There is a serious change in the political
mood in the North since Buhari was elected
as the APC candidate last week. Right now,
the people do not care whether they are in
APC or PDP. All they are interested in is that
power must return to the North through the
election of the former Head of State.
“What is really worrying those of us who are
perceived to be pro-Jonathan’s governors or
supporters is the open threat messages
being made directly to our phones.
The northern governor showed the
journalist 2 of such messages written in
Hausa and English. The politician was
warned to not to betray the North for the
President. One of the messages came from a
ranking federal northern lawmaker while
the other was sent by someone the source
described as his “friend”.
Meanwhile the two pairs have been
introduced by both parties for the 2015
elections. The PDP will be represented by
Goodluck Jonathan and his running mate
Namadi Sambo and the APC – by
Muhammadu Buhari and Yemi Osinbajo.

PoliticsIs There Any Major Difference Between APC & PDP by jswags(op): 1:46pm On Dec 19, 2014
It was literary guru and eminent academic,
Prof. Okey Ndibe, who formally broached the
issue weeks before the national conventions
of Nigeria’s two major political parties were
held by arguing in an article published last
month that the opposition All Progressives
Congress (APC) is the same as the ruling
Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP). He wrote,
“PDP and APC are kindred spirits, two parties
beset by ideological aridity and most of their
prominent figures fueled by the same
contemptible idea that politics is, above all, a
means for accumulating riches. Why else do
they hire thugs, kill or maim their
opponents, betray all lofty principles, submit
themselves to the most diabolical rites. It is
certainly not to serve Nigerians.”
This postulation elicited a prompt response
from the Publicity Secretary of the APC in
Lagos State, Mr. Joe Igbokwe, who
vehemently rejected the lumping of the two
parties as one, describing such position as
“a vintage PDP propaganda since they can
no longer explain what they did with
sixteen years oil windfall.” He continued in a
riposte that “Nigeria is wrecked and
damaged and no one knows where to head.
Poverty is rife, impunity is overwhelming,
infrastructures are decayed… With this
dreary picture and with the reality of being
swept off power, PDP came with the
insidious propaganda that it is the same
with APC, the party that stands the greatest
chance of seeing it out of power. With this,
PDP wants to level the ground and make
Nigeria’s case incurable.”
DAILY POST will resist the temptation of
providing insight into fall outs from the
primaries on both sides, lest it influences
your voting pattern. However, we will still go
ahead to ask if from what you have seen so
far or heard of the two major parties in
Nigeria…

PoliticsShocking Revelations About Buhari by jswags(op): 11:15am On Dec 18, 2014
Like President Obasanjo before the 1999
election, General Buhari’s political
experience is limited to that of military Head
of State. Buhari came to power as a result of
a 1983 New Year’s Eve coup against the
democratically elected Shehu Shagari. The
eviction of Shagari came as a welcome relief
as did Buhari’s promise to root out
corruption. That relief, however, was short-
lived as Nigerians watched despairingly as
the Buhari regime’s promises to revive the
economy and wipe out rampant corruption
withered during 20 months of heavy-
handed, largely ineffective rule.
In May 1984, Buhari ordered the brutal
expulsion of 700,000 illegal immigrants
from neighboring African states, jailed
hundreds of political opponents and
muzzled a once aggressive press. His loyalty
to the military also came into question as he
dismissed 30,000 soldiers as a cost-cutting
measure. Buhari also soured Nigeria’s
relations with Britain, when he was accused
of masterminding a clumsy and
unsuccessful attempt in July 1984 to kidnap
President Shagari’s brother-in-law, former
Transport Minister Umaru Dikko. Moreover,
Buhari undermined traditional rulers
throughout Nigeria, slashing their benefits
and questioning their authority.www.naij.com/345076-secret-documents-shocking-revelations-about-buhari.html

FASHOLA DOES NOT QUALIFY AS A GOV. NOT TO TALK OF PRES.N my reasons are;
1.He publicly insulted all lagosians by telling us that education is not for everybody thereafter increased LASU. school fees from #25,000 to #250,000.
2.Lagos state is the richest state in nigeria due to its internal generated revenue but cannot pay its doctors as well as some other of its civil servant well enough.
3.Lagos state is the first state that i have seen parading market men and women in a black maria for street trading without actually providing markets.
4.AND I CAN GO ON AND ON.
