1)whether you like it or not,MOS was a success both financially and critcally. it only got lower ratings as most critics were divided.
as for bringing up GOTG, you forget that the movie already had the backing of the MCU which has already established a fanbase. it s no strange that it made more money than MOS which was basically setting a foundation.
2)he did not destroy smallville. that was the kryptonians he was battling and even the milatary by intefering only caused more damage. get your facts straight.how exactly did he use zod as a playfest to destroy govt property.
btw what he destroyed at the end was a drone which the govt sent to spy on him. he was trying to warn them against that. he has a right to his privacy
2)he s father never told him to let the children on the bus die. he s father just didnt have all the answers i.e. he was actually human. he was afraid that if clark had continued to display he s powers, he would lose his son to the govt. a perfectly logical fear. its why he sacrificed his life rather than let clark save him. to give clark a chance at a regular life.
3)pls point out these "millions of people" clark COULD HAVE but failed to save.
4)you forget that zod could do EVERYTHING clark could do. heck clark was struggling just to hold him in place and suddenly you expect clark to just pull extra strength out of his a** and fly zod who despite having the upper hand in a grapple, he could barely hold!?
but lets assume clark saved that family, then what?
zod could not be contained or pacified. more people would have died since the battle would have continued indefinately.

About Superman you have to admit this version of him is darker than what we are used to and there is always a choice.

1)miranda tate was ras al ghul 's daughter. the mastermind behind bane. Also in my books, failing to save someone whom you had the capability of saving is as good as killing him.
also wasnt batman responsible for harvey dent's death?
2) the version wasnt dark. it was more grounded/realistic. it was basically an imperfect superman which personally appealled more to me.
and you re right. there was a choice. either let the innocent family die and put millions (potentially billions) at risk or he could kill zod and end it all in one move.
looks like he made the right choice to me.

Marvel made a solid unspectacular start to their MCU when they made Iron Man. That movie is 10 years old but I enjoyed it when i watched it again recently. DC chose to start in a spectacularly controversial way with Man of Steel and somehow I don't think that movie will still be worth watching in a decade's time.
That aside which of DC's current movie slate are you most excited about? I personally think Sucide Squad will be great. Batman Vs Superman I'm not sure about. I already hate the title

1)personally i enjoyed MOS more than any other marvel movie barring captain america TWS. it s not that i m biased or anything. i just really hate the slap stick comedy that almost all marvel movies have become.
2) i m most excited for batman v superman. i really cant wait to see even a trailer.

Thanks for the clarification. I didn't like Man of Steel but I don't think it was a failure either. In terms of the box office it certainly didn't fail. If you meant it in terms of the creative direction they took Superman then I agree with you. Batman doesn't kill his enemies for a good reason. Even at his darkest point in the Dark Knight Trilogy he still didn't kill anyone and he's supposed to be the most amoral member of Justice League. So making Supes that dark doesn't make sense to me.

1)i m pretty sure batman killed miranda tate. he also didnt mind letting ras al ghul die and seemed alright with catwoman killing bane.
2)superman killing does not in anyway make him dark. besides, its not like he had anyother choice.

how exactly was the movie a failure when it made over 600 million dollars (more successful than any marvel origin movie barring GOTG).

when he saved a bus full of children while risking exposure?
all the times he saved lois?
or when he chose he s adopted homeworld over his own people and saved everyone frm potential annialation at the hands of the world engine?
how about when he sacrificed his morality and killed zod who not only put an innocent family in immediate danger but had sworn to murder everyone of the planet?

-Gossip girl 4/10: Basically for teenage boys and girls with abandonment issues. If you're an adult following this show, then you're not okay.

-Reign 5/10: Something is a little off about this show... Yes, I got it now. The plotholes are too embarrassing to be ignored.

-Smallville 6/10: Neat, Sophisticated but marred by too much CGI and little acting

-Arrow 3/10: Seriously, what were they thinking when they created this ridiculous piece of sh*t?? Made Smallville look like a masterpiece.

-Flash 3/10: Another ridiculous piece of sh*t

-The 100 4/10: Bunch of teenagers running around summed it all up. An adult caught following this crap avidly is seriously disturbed.

-The Vampire Diaries 2/10: Possibly the worst vampire themed TV show ever, case closed.

-The Original 5/10: An improvement of it's predecessor but over acting and linear storytelling is killing a once promising show.

-Beauty And The Beast: 1/10: Most ridiculous show on TV hands down.

-Supernatural 7/10: Funny and enchanting, Supernatural is obviously a fluke.
