This disclosure was made by Jacinda Arden, prime minister of New Zealand, who on a press conference revealed that the country has stopped community transmission of COVID-19.

With new cases recorded in single figures lately, Ardern said the virus is “currently eliminated”.

According to reports the country recorded its first case of the COVID-19 disease in February 28.

In March and with few cases recorded, the country closed its borders. It later introduced a four-level alert system to manage the outbreak.

New Zealand was put in a nationwide lockdown while it began an extensive testing and contact tracing operation.

Speaking during a daily briefing, the prime minister said the country no longer had widespread undetected community transmission.

She, however, warned that the country must remain vigilant.

“There is no widespread undetected community transmission in New Zealand. We have won that battle. But we must remain vigilant if we are to keep it that way,” Arden said.

The prime minister also said the lock-down will be partially lifted as from Tuesday. The country will move from level four lock-down down to level 3.

This means that some businesses, healthcare and education activities will be allowed to resume on a small scale.

Most people will still be required to remain at home and avoid social gatherings, shopping centres and the country’s borders will remain closed.

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has reportedly extended the lock-down in Lagos, Ogun and the federal capital territory (FCT) by one week.

In a nationwide broadcast on Monday, the president explained that he consulted widely before taking the decision.

“The health systems and economies of many nations continue to struggle as a result of the corona-virus pandemic. Nigeria continues to adapt to these new global realities on a daily basis. Today, I will present the facts as they are and explain our plans for the coming months fully aware that some key variables and assumptions may change in the coming days or weeks.

“Exactly two weeks ago, there were 323 confirmed cases in 20 States and the Federal Capital Territory. 7. As at this morning, Nigeria had recorded 1,273 cases across 32 States and the FCT. Unfortunately, this includes 40 deaths.

It added that with the “exponential” rise in the number of cases recorded across the country daily, people should not see the lockdown as a punishment but a necessary measure to contain the spread of the deadly virus. It, however, stressed the need for fair distribution of the palliatives to cushion the hardship the restriction had caused Nigerians.

But the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture; the Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association; and the Director-General, Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dr Muda Yusuf, opposed the possible extension of the total lockdown, saying the government should consider the partial opening of the economy.

The Evangelical Pastor James, who claimed to be a former Vodafone executive, preaches regularly at churches in Luton, Bedfordshire.

In a 38-minute recording, circulated to millions of people across the world since last month, the pastor made unverified claims that COVID-19 is a plot to hide the installation of 5G mobile network.

Not only that, he said it was meant to monitor the world through computer chips inserted into the human body as vaccines.

“It has nothing to do with biological warfare but is our bodies reacting to radiofrequency radiation,” James said in the recording.

“They are using coronavirus to try to hide the fact that people are dying from the 5G frequency. The coronavirus is not what’s killing people, it is clearly, categorically, unequivocally proven that the radio frequencies we are being exposed to are killing the people.

“God has blessed me with the ability to bring disparate pieces of information together that puts the puzzle together and makes sense of it,” he had said.

Nigerian, Pastor, Chris Oyakhilome of the Believers Love World, aka Christ Embassy, had also backed the claim.

Oyakhilome had linked the Coronavirus pandemic and 5G network to antichrist, saying that the pandemic was created in order to popularize the 5G network which is gradually gaining attention across the world.

The cleric said that what is making a lot of people sick at the moment is the 5G.

As a result of these messages, telecommunication masts in the UK and some countries were vandalised.

The newspaper reports that James worked for Vodafone in the sales unit for less than a year in 2014 when the company didn’t have 5G as top priority.

When he was contacted, the pastor said he was absolutely shocked that the private message he sent to a dedicated small community went viral.

Romania’s National Committee for Special Emergency Situations, in charge of coordinating the fight against the new coronavirus epidemic (COVID-19), adopted new restrictions on Tuesday evening, March 17, one day after president Klaus Iohannis decreed the state of emergency in the country, Juicy understand.

Popular British actor, identified and known as Idris Elba, has tested positive to Covid-19.
Elba made this known on Monday via his twitter handle @idrisebla

In his word he said “This morning I tested positive for COVID-19. I feel OK, I have no symptoms so far but have been isolated since I found out about my possible exposure to the virus,”

“Stay home people and be pragmatic. I will keep you updated on how I’m doing ���� No panic,” he said.

According, to the video he uploaded, Idris Elba explained that he got tested after realizing he was exposed to someone who had also tested positive.
He said that he self-quarantined after finding out about the other person’s results and “got a test immediately.”

“It sucks,” he admitted. “Looks, this is serious. Now’s the time to really think about social distancing, washing your hands.”

Elba is not the first celebrity to test positive for the virus. Tom Hanks revealed last week he and wife Rita Wilson tested positive for Covid-19 and are also quarantined, Covid-19.

Since the onset of the outbreak in Wuhan, China, in December, over 178,000 people have been infected with the disease and about 7,000 deaths recorded.

The decision came the same day that Apple announced all of its stores in China had reopened after being shuttered for weeks because of the coronavirus outbreak in Hubei Province, the original epicenter of the global pandemic.

Apple’s hourly employees will continue to receive pay “in alignment with business as usual operations,” Cook said. The company has expanded its leave policies to accommodate people who are recovering from covid-19, caring for a sick person, or undergoing mandatory quarantine, according to the letter.

Online stores will remain open, and customer support will still be available, according to Cook.
