It’s been a great relationship with henry, he’s been such a gentleman calling and texting to know how I am feeling. One time, he called me up to five times in one hour and I am a kind of person that loves attention a lot. I love the attention he gives me even in class

Tamara and I were in class chatting about how our weekend went, I gave a full gist on my outing with henry and how sweet henry was with his perfect gentleman behavior.

“My dad got my elder sister a car and we went out on Saturday to celebrate, and guess what?” she asked

“What” I asked looking at her as she happily hit me a little before saying

“My sis won’t be going back to her school lodge, she will be going from home” She said smiling

“Awwwww that’s so nice, at least you won’t be bored at home anymore” I said

“Yes o” she replied as she looked around to see if anyone was eavesdropping, when she was satisfied no one was paying attention on us, she looked at me smiling

“So…………..sooooooooooo” She winked at me and was about to say something before I interrupted half way

“So what” I asked

“How did your outing with your boyfriend go’? She asked

“It was really fun and he’s such a gentleman” I replied as I told her in full details how we spent our day, we were still talking when henry and kelvin joined in the discussion and I paused what I was saying and Tamara immediately switched to another topic

“And did you finish your maths homework?” She asked and blinked her eyes which I understood instantly

“Ohhh yes, I did it” I said

“Hello girlfriend” Henry said coming closer to give me a hug “How was your night” He asked

“Had headache, but I’m better now” I said

“Okay, I’m pleased you’re okay” he said and just the Tamara cleared her throat and we both looked at her

“Good morning Tam” Henry said

“I thought I’ve become too small for you to see, as na only you get girlfriend for this world” Tamara sais

“I’m sorry, it’s not like that and please forgive my manners” Henry said with a smile

“You’re forgiven joor” Tamara said

“How are you kelv” Tamara asked

“I’m good” He said looking a bit tired as he sat down on his desk, Tamara and I looked at henry for answers and he replied “His mom is sick”

“Ohhhhh” We said simultaneously with worried look on our faces

“Is there a way we can help him raise money for his mom’s drugs? Tamara asked

“That’s a nice idea” Henry said

“I have three thousand with me now, I can give it to kelvin to add up for his mum’s drugs” Henry said

“I have two thousand with me which is supposed to be for the coding class but I will get another tomorrow” Tamara said

They both looked at me as if waiting for me to say the amount I have at hand, I brought out my purse from my school bag and brought out four five hundred naira notes and gave it to henry. He smiled and collected it

“So we have seven thousand naira total and this will go a long way” Henry said

We walked over to kelvin’s desk as he bent his head on the desk, henry tapped him and he raised his head up and we gave him the money. He was surprised and rejected it at first but we insisted he took the money which he happily collected and thanked us.

Later that afternoon, we had free period and I decided to troll to my brother’s class to see what he’s been up to, He’s been worried of recent and when I asked him, he said it was nothing but my curiosity won’t let me believe him.

I peeped into his class to see if a teacher was in there but luckily, there’s no teacher and the class was not that noisy as it usually was. David saw me and came outside

“Hey sis, what are you doing here” He asked

“Can’t I come and say Hi to my big brother” I asked, and he looked at me suspiciously

“When did you start coming to my class to check up on me” He asked

“I started today, is it bad?” I asked as I looked into his class and my eye and that of Mirabel  clicked and she quickly looked away

“What are you looking at, don’t tell me you came here to gossip” David asked

“Well, your girlfriend was looking at you even though she’s sitting another boy, her focus is here” I said

“Really”? she was looking at me”  David asked with a smile on his face

“Yeah she was” I replied

“She’s been acting weird lately, I think she’s already dating her childhood friend Raymond” David said looking so sad

“I got you” I shouted

“Got me, how?” He said surprised

“so she’s the reason you’ve being so moody” I smiled

“Mtchewwwwwwwwwwwww” He sighed and continued talking “I would have known that was the reason you left your class to mine, such a gossip” He said

“That’s your business, I got what I wanted” I said

“but you said you don’t feel anything for her, all of a sudden you’re feeling her because another guy is giving her the attention you didn’t want to give her” I said

“Tamara please stop adding to my headache” David said looking frustrated

“Well, I don’t think she is dating the new guy though, there’s no chemistry between them” I said as I took a look into the class and the direction of Mirabel and the new guy, the new guy was looking our way and must have noticed we were talking about them.

“You think” David asked

“I know, I’m a girl and I know when another girl is trying to make her love interest jealous with her new friend, you just need to be bold enough to approach her and tell her how you feel and moreover it’s obviously mutual” I said

“See my Little girl tutoring me on how to approach a girl” David said

“Who’s little” I said feigning anger

“Sorry big girl” david said as he burst out laughing

“I’m going back to my class, free period is over” I said

“Alright” David said as he went into his class.

RAYMOND

 

 

Its Monday morning and the class wasn’t as quiet as it should, everybody was talking at the same time telling their friends how their weekend went. I was on my desk looking around because Mirabel wasn’t in school yet which was unlike her and I was yet to make friends, I stood up and went to talk with the guys that sit opposite my seat.

“Hey” I said

“Hey new boy” He said grudgingly

“My name is Raymond” I said to him as I brought out my hand for a handshake

“I’m Raphael and these are my friends, Rex and Collins” He replied as he took my hand

“Nice “I replied not knowing what more to say until he spoke up

“I’m Mirabel’s ex though you have nothing to worry about, I’ve never had feelings for her but your competition is over there’’ He said pointing at the guy I saw Mirabel looking at the other day. I knew there was something going on between them but I didn’t want to go deeply into that because I’m a new student.

 

Few minutes later, Mirabel came in looking so tired and angry, I went to her and asked her what happened, and she said the car spoilt on her way to school and the driver had to call the family mechanic to come fix it.

“I’m sorry, it must be so frustrating” I said

“Yeah, it really was” She replied as she stretched herself on her desk

“I thought you won’t be in school today” I said

“I wouldn’t miss school for anything” She smiled

“What were you doing with those boys” She asked

“I was bored and needed to talk, I went over to them to talk” I replied

“If you say so but please be careful with them” She said

 

 

The weather was really perfect as the sun was in a very good mood as it radiates with so much light, Mirabel and I were strolling through the football pitch talking about how we were during childhood. We go laugh at funny memories;

“I really like you Mira’

“I like you too, why won’t I like my friend” She said

‘’We’ve been friends since childhood and you still don’t want us to be more than friends’’ I said

“Ray, I will be sincere with you, I’m already into someone else and I like him so much’’ She said

“That guy in class right? I asked and she looked at me surprised at what I said

“How did you know’’ She asked

“Who wouldn’t know with way you look at him in class every time, does he even like you? I asked her

‘’It doesn’t matter” she said

We continued our walk round the pitch as we finally settled down to watch the ongoing match on the field. The guy was on the pitch, he is in one of the team and I looked at Mirabel, she was more focused on the guy than the match that is been played. I had to tap her to focus

“Why did you hit me like that” She screamed and touched the spot where I hit her

“I’m sorry” I said but she didn’t reply me, instead she stood up and left the football pitch

I ran after her calling “Mirabel, Mirabel!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I finally caught up with her and apologized, she accepted and we headed to the class together

 

DAVID

 

 

She came late to school today though I didn’t know why but I know it must be something serious, I saw her walk into the classroom looking angry and tired, she went to her desk and the new boy didn’t even allow her settle down before approaching her.

I saw him talking with Raphael earlier and I knew they might be planning something unpleasant but I really don’t care, I will avoid them like I always do.

My mind went back to what happened in our outing on Saturday and how Sonia asked caramel to peck me on the lips, I didn’t find that funny. I knew Sonia intentionally did what she did because she wants caramel and I back together but her plans won’t work because I don’t feel anything for her anymore.

 

Gabriel and I decided to go play football during lunch break, we were still playing when Mirabel and her bodyguard came to the field and sat down. I felt two pairs of eye watching me but I didn’t want to look.

I saw her angrily left the field with her body guard chasing after her, maybe he did something she doesn’t like, I was actually happy they fought only to be disappointed in class when I saw her laughing at something he said.

It’s going to be a long week because I don’t think I can put up with this thing they’re doing and I’m already getting jealous. I will have to tell her how I feel about her….TBC

FRIDAY EVENT

I didn’t want to talk about what happened in class the previous day, I saw how Mirabel was shocked when she saw the new guy and I knew instantly she knows him from somewhere. I saw them pass through the canteen, and I felt a little jealous but I shrugged that feeling off.

All the while I was looking at Mirabel and the new guy, I did know Gabriel was looking at him, he tapped me roughly and I looked at him

“You like this girl, why can’t you guys work something out since it’s mutual” He said

“Like who?” I asked Gabriel feigning confusion

“Mirabel of course” He said

“Are you okay?” I asked

“Be there deceiving yourself until someone takes her away from you, see how close they are on his first day. What will happen when he stays end of the term”? Gabriel said and I was in deep thought because what he said touched me but I didn’t let him see I was touched.

She can be with whoever she wants to be with, I’m here to study and not to make friends and moreover I’m trying to avoid trouble from her ex who has been looking for ways to get on my nerves. If not that I’m avoiding him, I would have dealt with him, and I’m getting fed up with his silly attitude towards me.

Earlier that day, I was heading to the rest room, when Raphael and his friends accosted me and as I tried to find my way past them, he pulled me back. I didn’t react because I was trying to stay away from trouble and I don’t want dad coming to the school as a result of a fight with my classmate. When he saw I wasn’t going to give in to his trouble, he asked his friends to let me go.

Caramel on the other part has been a thorn in my flesh, since the day she came to my house and I shouted at her, she didn’t stop calling me on the phone and I kept rejecting her calls. She even went as far as telling Bryan my friend in my former school to call me and plead on her behalf. Bryan called me but I told him I don’t want to talk about caramel, he knows what went wrong between caramel and I and he’s still pleading that I forgive her. I got angry at him and blocked his number for a while from calling me.

When I opened my whatsApp, I saw a message from him telling me that he was sorry for his behavior and that he only agreed to plead on caramel’s behalf because she was crying when she came to him.

‘’She came to you as a mouthpiece Na, didn’t you see what I went through when that girl broke up with me” I asked

“Dave just soften your heart where that girl dey” He wrote in pidgin

“It’s not that easy bro” I replied

“Except you still have feelings for her because I don’t see any reason why you can’t forgive her” He said

“Fee……what?” I asked with a disgusted emoji

“I don’t have any feeling for her, I just felt bad what she did to me” I typed

“Just forgive her and move on” He said

“Okay” I replied as I went to my phonebook to unblock him, I went back to my whatsApp and chatted caramel up

“Hi” I typed

“Hi’’ she replied

“I have forgiven you, I don’t hold anything against you anymore” I said

“Really” she said with a jubilation emoji

“Yeah” I replied

“Thank you” She said

“You’re welcome’’ As I scrolled down to read unread messages, I clicked on my class group chat. Since it was a Friday night, they were asking the volunteers for the ‘hot seat’ questions ranging from who their crush is, who they like most, their best teacher etc. I didn’t pick much interest in the conversation but something caught my attention, I saw someone with the name Mirabel I don’t have her number but she’s the only Mirabel in our class and I knew it was her. She is one of the volunteers for the hot seat. When she was asked who her crush is, she said Raymond and added a laughing emoji. I got angry and left the group chat with their boring conversations and scrolled to caramel’s message

”Goodnight” I didn’t reply her because I was already angry at what Mirabel said. I still felt the urge to see what other question she was asked, I clicked on the group chat.

“Who in the class will you like to go on a date with’” she replied “Raymond” I angrily switched off my data and dozed off

I woke up early Saturday morning looking very tired, I laid back trying to regain my lost strength which I didn’t know what I used it for. I kept rolling on my bed until I heard a knock from outside my door and I stood up to know who it is, as I opened the door It was Sonia who said she wanted me to fix something in her laptop

“Can’t it wait?” I asked her as I squeezed my face in a way to tell her I wasn’t ready to help her with it

“No Bro I need to send my school work through email for my lecturer” She said

“Let me see what is wrong with it” I said to Sonia as she gave me the laptop, she came into the room and sat on my bed

“See how neat your room is my baby bro, you’re such I good boy” She said admiringly as she checked out my room. I didn’t reply her as I was busy with her laptop

Few minutes later, I was done fixing and I handed the laptop to her

“Thank you genius” She said ‘And don’t forget we will be hanging out later this afternoon.

“Where are we going sis” I asked

“To the beach” She said

“Hope there will be lot of food o” I asked her and she smacked me saying “You too like food glutton

“Food is life” I replied

“I just made a list with Sophia before coming to your room, and I have given her money to go buy all the things we will be needing for the outing” She replied as I switched on my phone

“Alright” I replied and concentrated on my phone, Sonia left

 

I came down stairs after I must have finish bathing and tidying up my room, when I got to the stairs, a strong aroma got my nose and I followed the direction where the aroma is coming from and it was from the kitchen.

The girls where frying chicken and on the other burner was a pot of steaming jollof rice, I couldn’t hold myself anymore, I stretched my hand over to collect a piece of chicken when Sonia screamed and said I shouldn’t dare

Tamara was busy with the cabbage, carrot and other stuffs used for making salad while Sophia was turning the rice with a stick, and I guessed she doesn’t want it to get burnt

“Your breakfast is on the dining” Sophia said

I went over to the dining to see my breakfast of bread and egg with tea to step it down.

I settled down for my breakfast

SONIA

 

 

We got ready for the outing, I opened my car booth so that the things we are taking along to the beach will be placed in there, I put a call across to caramel because I called her the previous day to inform her will be going out and asked her if she want to tag along and she was positive about it.

Though I know if David knows caramel will be coming, he will not be happy with it, so I didn’t tell him about her coming. As they were bringing out the things, I heard a knock from the gate and immediately my phone rang and I picked.

“Sonia, I’m outside the gate” Caramel said. I shouted the name of the gateman who was far from where I was standing to inform him someone is at the gate. He ran to open the gate.

“The gateman is coming” I told her over the phone and it disconnected

She was in a sexy gown that shows her shape, she was looking so beautiful and classy

“Babe you’re looking so hot, hope u know we’re going to the beach and not a club” I said mocking her

“Don’t worry, my beach clothes are in my bag” She said as she pointed at the bag she was carrying.

We were still talking when David came out with the cooler that contained the chicken, he saw caramel but his face was expressionless, I was thinking he will be very angry but he wasn’t

“Hello Dave” She greeted with a smile

“Hello Cara, how are you doing” He asked and I was very surprised with how cordial he was with his greeting

“Seems you two have left your childish route” I said as I burst out laughing

We were still talking when Sophia came out holding a mat, she greeted Caramel who responded with a smile

“Where’s Tamara” I asked

“She’s still dressing up” Sophia replied

“That girl takes time dressing up, god help her” I said

“Amen” Tamara replied as she came out wearing her beach outfit

“You invited her” Tam asked pointing at Caramel

“Oh yes” I replied

‘Hello Tam” Caramel greeted

“Hey” She replied

We all hopped into the car and we zoomed off

We played around the beach for some time as went to settle down on the mat, our beach activities include board games, truth or dare and dancing competition. We also shared our funny experiences in school as we laugh to what was said. The best part was the truth and dare, you spin a bottle and anyone the bottle faces will be the person you will either ask a question or dare.

We made the truth and dare in a way that you must answer/ go with the dare

Sophia with the help of Tamara served us small chops which was just the appetizer before the main food we came with. We ate it as we continued with the truth or dare. I spin the bottle and he faced caramel, I cracked my brain to get questions I will ask her

“Caramel, truth or dare” I asked

“Dare” She replied

“I dare you to kiss David” I dared her

She was just looking at me, Sophia and Tamara were shocked with my dare. Davis was angrily looking at me like he wants to slap me. Caramel didn’t mind, she went close to him and pecked him before he could even react.

We were done with the truth and dare game and David was still not happy with the dare but I didn’t mind, it was just a peck and not a kiss.

Sophia brought out the food and that minute, David brightened his face at the sight of the food

“See who no longer sulking” I said and we laughed at him, he didn’t reply but collected his food from Sophia and started eating.

“This food is so delicious” Caramel said

“Sophia is a chef” I said

“Hope you’re considering opening a fast food in the future” Caramel asked

“I have plans towards that” Sophia replied

“That’s Nice” I added

We packed up after eating because it was already getting late and we are supposed to drop Caramel off at her place before we head home.....TBC
