Hello

I’ll be applying for a US student visa for a MBA and I would be sponsoring myself. Can non-bank statements be used as financial document. For example a statement of stocks (equities) position which I can easily convert to cash or I need to convert to cash before the application.

The CCT’s order is dated 23rd. The court of appeals order is dated 24th. Has the CCT reconvened after the order of the appeal court? NO!

You're just a fool
poseidon12:

Go and re-read the article. He said that, in addition to writing the President, he also went to meet him in person and informed him of the threat.
I only blame him for being naive and not realizing that Buhari, a tribalist, will actually support his Fulani terrorists to attack. He should not have disarmed his people. I hope he is wiser now.

I guess the release below from the presidency shows why Ortom is irresponsible to have made that statement. It was an obvious lie.

Benue Killings: Reports Vice President Ignored Benue Governor's Letter Absolutely False

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, was shocked by a news report ostensibly quoting the Benue State Governor Sam Ortom as saying that the VP was warned of the savage and inhumane killings by alleged herdsmen in Logo and Guma local government areas which took place on the 1st of January 2018.

Although the Vice President, Prof. Osinbajo, does not believe that the Governor could ever have said so, it will be a terrible falsehood to suggest that the VP was ever informed by the Governor or anyone else of the imminence of the killing of citizens of our country in those or any other local governments in Benue State.

Governor Ortom wrote to the Vice President, then Acting President, on 7th June 2017 protesting a newspaper publication where the leadership of Miyetti Allah was reported to have stated that it was opposed to the Open Grazing Prohibition law of the State and that they would mobilize to resist the law. The Miyetti Allah had written to the Vice President on the 5th of June 2017 on the same law protesting several sections of the law. The Governor went on to say that the leadership of Miyetti Allah should be arrested because they used words such as “wicked, obnoxious and repressive,” to describe the law, and because these were “utterances that are capable of undermining the peace...”

The Vice President subsequently met with the Governor, discussed the matter and the security situation in the State and then ordered law enforcement agencies to be on the alert to prevent any attacks or violence. This was in June 2017!

In the said letter written by the Governor, there was no mention of any threat to any specific one of the 23 local governments of Benue State, so the best the law enforcement agencies could do even then was to await information or intelligence of an imminent attack. None came. Since then the VP has held several meetings with the Benue State Governor, including a visit to the State on the 6th of September, last year at the behest of Mr. President during the tragic floods in the state last year. At all such meetings, the Vice President discussed the security situation of the State with the Governor.

Following that, the then Acting President convened a major national security retreat which was attended by all State Governors, service chiefs and heads of security agencies. The Retreat featured very detailed discussions on the herdsmen/ farmers’ clashes.

To the best of our knowledge, neither Governor Ortom nor the Federal Government was aware of the imminence of the cowardly attack on Logo and Guma on the 1st of January, and therefore any suggestion that the President or the Vice President ignored the State Governor’s warning is both absolutely false and certainly misleading.

The FG has been inept in handling this crisis but hearing Ortom say he wrote letters is just annoying. So in 6 months he could not see either the VP personally or the president that he kept on writing letters?

What a very sad comment. It shows you are no different from the killer herds men you accuse.

I blame the FG and security operatives for not nipping it in the bud by allowing people to take laws into their hands.

For some of you who celebrate when herdsmen are killed, how do you feel when they retaliate?

The fact is that whether a fulani, tiv,or IPOB is killed, none of them deserves to die in such a cruel manner. They are all human lives and jubilating over the death of any human shows how inhuman most of us are.

Instead of showing support from either sides, or pointing fingers which only makes the problem more complex, we should all come out and push the government to find a lasting solution.

Thanks for this comment. It's shouldn't be an ethnic issue. It's a deep fundamental issue that requires a holistic solution. It's sad the way it has turned out

Those are 2016 articles on the whistle blower policy that clearly stated the 2.5% minimum to 5% maximum. Been ignorant of it is not an excuse to knock a needed and currently being implemented as stated policy. This information has always been in the public domain. It's only logical that the higher the recovered amount, the lower the percentage given.

Don’t misinform.

The policy has always been 2.5% minimum to a maximum of 5%.

Where the govt erred was not publicly stating the percentage to be paid based on the recovered amount and this has been stated now.

Use quickteller . A receipt will be generated. Print it out or download soft copy to your system.

For the app
Download Stanbic Ibtc app from playstore
Click on open instant account
Input details as prompted (choose Mutual funds)
You ll be lead to quickteller website, where you can pay with you ATM.
Complete the process.
The only issue is that you are limited to transactions of about 200k only. If you want more, you ll need to visit their branch with: completed form (you can print online) , passport, utility bill, ID & prove of payment.

Cheers

I have been able to do a max of 1m on quickteller with my bank card. Higher amounts failed. When Stanbic’s gateway (not quickteller) was available, I could do higher amounts with my bank card.

Having their preferred man at the helm of the affairs in the senate would have made easier the backing of the whims and desires of the executive by the senate.

Clearly, more of the intentions of the executive would be out-rightly supported or subtly promoted by the senate president, if he was the man the executive so badly wanted to put in place.

Let us look at some of these executive intentions

1). Implementation of the social media bill.

2). Implenting a grazing reserve bill to ensure cattle is reared in Nigeria the same way it has been done thousands of years ago, even though we are in mordern times and absolutely none of the top beef producing countries in the world is practice nomadic herding. Other Nigerians would have been forced to forfeit their lands to empower the idea

What else do you think would have happened if the executive's choice became senate president, and Bukola Saraki chose not to exercise his rights to satisfy his desire to contest, as his party's stalwarts told him?

Your arguments would have held water if the bills were sponsored by the executive. I dont think any of these bills were sponsored by the executive!

Yes, profit is very important in our clime and that is why you see all the manipulations with bank results.
Let me ask you this question; why do you think banks like fcmb, gtb and fbn add their fx gain to their profits while banks like access, uba, diamond and fidelity reported their fx gain separately?

There are components that should be added to PAT and there are components that should be taken to OCI. All the banks do this and it's subsumed somewhere in the notes or presented as a separate line item. Like Access bank's 2016 audited statement which you mentioned reporting separately, they made a FX loss and its part of PAT (Check note 12).
Check same note 12 on Diamond bank: " Net trading income on foreign exchange and financial assets held for trading includes the gains and losses arising both on the purchase and sale of trading instruments and from changes in fair value. "

There may be manipulations in the underlying records but the treatment is right per accounting standards

Guys pls enlighten me on what could be happening with GTB TB calculations, Feb 15th auction I submitted a bid of 18.12% for 364 days, CBN stop rate was 18.4495% so I won the bid but from my calculations GTB gave me rate of about 17.95%

18.12% - 17.95% = 0.17%. I lost 43,010 Naira

For yesterday's auction March 16th I asked them to use their stop rate cos of this new 50m stuff, they debited me today and gave me breakdown that they did 18% 364 days for me in secondary market. Again from my calculations the rate they gave me comes down to 17.95% or so instead of the 18% they quoted for me, on this one I lost 10,860 Naira

In both cases they debited their fees/charges etc in 2 different transactions and I considered all that in my calculations but the more I calculate it the less I understand

You may not be calculating their charges accurately. I've used the spreadsheet at the bottom of the post in the link below and it somewhat gave me an accurate calculation using GTB rates.

2. Because Jesus commands it:

"Yes, you should tithe, and you shouldn't leave the more important things undone either." (Matthew 23:23) Tithing was the only thing Jesus commended the Pharisees for doing right!

http://godsinspired..com.ng/2016/03/10-bible-verses-on-tithing.html

Matthew 23:23 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices—mint, dill and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former."

There are more important matters of the law that pastors need to preach every Sunday but without fail, it is tithing that is mentioned every Sunday.
