This is a good news, if indeed, it was not just a mere announcement. I think it should be followed with the eradication of policy of 'Educational Disadvantaged States' as well for justice and equity. One would be wondering who made a particular location educationally disadvantaged, and for how long it's going to remain. |

It's disturbing that these same set of people will travel outside their country and complain about racism, and oppression of immigrants. If at this point in time we still perceive that some clans are superior to the other based on certain historical incidents, then, I think we have no rights to be angry when we are racially discriminated against in the western countries. 7 Likes |

Nigeria is taken to the dumpster! It's very funny most people are living in denial( suffering and smiling); nothing really works. I am sure the life of this deseased young man means nothing to the political gladiators. Since he was a child of 'nobody', it (his murder) won't even be given any significant attention.Remember when the daughter of a highly placed politician was killed in Ondo State allegedly by the Fulani Herdsmen? The solidarity and concerns received was out f this world. The question is, 'How many daughters and sons of other Nigerians have been killed through these same alleged murderers? How much of same level of solidarity was shown?' You may be the best 'judge' in this ,'case'. Hence, it bothers me why many of Nigerian youth with no background of strong political influence or riches would want to put their lives on the line for any of those politicians whose wards are receiving the best life could offer in saner climes, while defecating on their own lands. The issue we have in Nigeria transcends the present governments at the central, state or local, it's just a continuous decaying of a rotten system. That is why when a political party is in power, whether at the central, states or local level, the opposition parties always complain of being victimized by the state machinery; it has always being like that, and it will continue. The problem of Nigeria will continue until when every common man, I mean every average Nigerian, decides to take their destinies into their own hands by thinking above ethnic , religious and other unimportant factors in determining who should lead at various levels of governments. A stronger institution, which respects the rights of everyone , and has no regard for anyone no matter public status, should be advocated for. That is the case in advanced democracies, like that of U.S.A, where government officials can boldly testify against a sitting president without any fear of intimidation , victimization or oppression. It is so because they have built stronger institutions, and not individuals, over the time. Such cannot be said in Nigeria. If we, as a people, fail to advocate to have a stronger institution, and are happy queuing behind stronger people ( politicians, business moguls), then, I'm afraid, we will continue to have these same cycle of events. In the mean time, any youth that has the opportunity (resources) to legally immigrate to a saner clime should do so unhesitatingly for the sake of their kids, as things do not look bright in the nearest future. The children of the elites will continue to rule us, and we will continue to celebrate them. The elites have already positioned their kids to take their positions, in the business world and the political spheres. Most Nigerians will never understand the fight people like Omoyele Sowore is trying to put forward because they have been programmed to think based on sentiments of religion ,ethnicity, and local politics. It's very unfortunate that most Nigerians youth do not believe that they too have the rights to self-actualization without always paying obeisance to the ruling class and their kids. I pray GOD take Nigeria out of the cleaners 2 Likes 1 Share |
Education / Cowbellpedia Season 5 Grand Finale by Jus4c: 2:20pm On Nov 11, 2019 |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugitFMq9PxA It was another yet another display of mathematical pure genius by these brilliant young minds. I am very proud of them, and do wish them the very best. Schools from Ota, Ogun State, seem to be taking the lead over the past three years or so. The Ambassadors' College, Scholars' Universal College, and Ota Total Academy, all based in Ota, are doing very well in the competition. Kudos to them all. One funny thing is that these students hardly get celebrated. However, frivolities and stuffs that do not bring any meaningful progress to the society often catch the attention of the society. It is well. |

dekere: Thanks. I am actually in a city in the USA very close to Canada. I am considering continuing my studies in Canada due to ease of immigration after studies: H1-B Visa sponsorship is getting more difficult to come by these days . Getting a Canadian visitor visa from the USA here is very easy. 2 Likes |

JustMellow: Thanks for your response. How feasible is it to apply for a study permit while inside Canada? I mean for an individual who already has a visitor visa to Canada, later applied and got admitted to a university in Canada. |

Hello everyone. Please, is it possible for an international student to apply for the Spouse Open Work Permit (SOWP) for ones spouse when s/he is already in Canada on a visiting Visa? Would it be required that s/he leaves Canada first before such an application could be granted? |
Education / Re: 10 Things You Didn't Know About Covenant University: World Universities Ranking by Jus4c: 12:34pm On Sep 14, 2019 |
Learnstuffs: As much as I believe that you are entitled to your own opinion, I would like to let you know that quality education is expensive everywhere in the world. Now, if you compare the quality of education being received at the Covenant University with the ones obtained in the Western World, you would know that there is a huge closeness. Despite this, the total school fees structure, judging by what you put up there, is not up to 4000 U.S dollars per session, not even a semester. This is very cheap compared to what you see in the USA. Trust me, I can send my kids to school in Covenant University because I know they have a standard that compares close to what is obtainable in the USA, with interests in moral instructions of wards(for those who will adhere), and the value systems. I am typing this because I am at the other side of the divide and I know that Covenant University in particular is a blessing to Nigeria. This is not a public image perception managing but a way of expressing my concerns for the way some of us think. 7 Likes |

Greetings to everyone in here. I will be glad to know if there is any red flag if a married male graduate student presents his dad as a sponsor. I am making this inquiry because there might be this feeling that if one is financially okay to get married and even have kid(s), one should also be viable to sponsor oneself. So, is it okay to present ones dad's statement of account, even as a married male individual going for graduate studies? I will be glad to be enlightened on this. |

As regards learning of German, is/are their any textbook(s) or site(s) one can buy or visit for self-studying? Even if this mode of studying would limit me to level B2 proficiency for now, I wouldn't mind. I am asking because the nature of my job may not allow me to enroll at the Goethe Institute before the commencement of my programme come Winter 2016. |

Just a quick one, house: is it possible to obtain Letter of Proficiency in English Language from Ministry of Education? I am aware that schools do issue it but not too sure whether it can also be issued by the ministry. If the answer is yes, then, is it the Federal Ministry or the State Ministry? |

kilo4sure: Thanks for your response, bro. The B.ENG certificate is a continuation of a five-year polytechnic programme. Most of the courses in the B.ENG transcript are mere repetitions of the ones in HND transcript. I chose not to include my ND transcript because I believed that the total units would have been more than enough.Besides, most tertiary institutions abroad run their B.SC programme for a period of three years.Again on HND being a complement to O'Level for university entrance examination, I think that is unfair(if it is indeed true). WES evaluates HND to be of a three-year Diploma(as it is being used interchangeably with first degree in Canada) and a year Post Graduate Diploma. Hence, in climes like Canada,US ,etc, HND with a WES evaluation report can enroll for a Masters programme directly. However,we are talking about Germany here.More contributions would be welcomed for people that have direct or indirect knowledge of my enquiry.Once again, @kilo4sure, your response is highly appreciated. 1 Like 1 Share |

Good morning house. My question is somewhat related to the one earlier asked by @royaldok on ECTS. I spent three years in the university for a B.ENG programme in Electrical-Electronics Engineering(gained admission via HND Direct Entry into 300Level). The total number of units passed was 125.Also,the total number of units passed during the HND programme (excluding those of ND) was 84. Should the transcript of my B.ENG,which was obtained in three years, be the ONLY document to be sent or that of HND be also included? I will like to go for a Masters degree in Power Engineering ,Electrical Engineering and Information Science or Mechatronics. |
