Now the price of cement must crashed......

The rate at which the dollar is crashing , it might be exchange for 1 dolls to 1 cedis soon.
This is far above what the forex bureaus and Stanbic bank is doing.

The central bank seem to be playing it safe so that Thier economic data does fall into disarray because of how fast it is appropriating

You can't do census every 5yrs like most developed countries.
You cannot therefore rebase every so often as required.
The rest are usual madness.
See nonsense

Is it census that is used for economic data ? grin grin

Who is talking about re-basement?

I said our statistical services public Ghana living standard report and market research every 2 years and this is why Ghana economic data are always up to date and accurate than Kenya.

And you're here ranting like the lunatic you are

All inflation will be deflated to real GDP using 2013 base prices and then USD will hammer your nominal GDP.

So basically, it going to be this simple - very small real GDP increase in Cedis - and then 50% hammering by USD if today official rate was anything to go by.

Ghana nominal GDP this year will take huge haircut. The real GDP in cedis may even grow.
nonsense as usual
Ghana GDP has almost double in cedis term to 863 billion cedis at 6.8 dollars.

Your last of economic knowledge will keep making you the fool you already are

You rebased in 2018 - the base year is 2013.
Kenya rebased in 2021 - the base year is 2015.
Ideally you should rebase every 5yrs - if you have data capacity - which I doubt you have.
I think south africa do every 5yr rebasing
Countries able to do census and large surveys every 5yrs can rebase that often - developed countries do this.
African countries take time
Nigeria cant even do census every 10yrs.
Look at the country talking about data capacity grin grin

Have you not seen the Ghana living standard report which is public every 2 years, it comes with a comprehensive market research.

Kenya does not have that capacity

How comes Angola GDP crushed from 140B to 70B when their kwacha crushed.
GDP of course is calculated from base price from a base year - ideally every 5yrs - for SSA 10yrs is good enough to rebase.
This has nothing to do with nominal GDP. That GDP in that country currency.
Then after all that - nominal GDP - to simply divide that by official dollar rate at end of the year.
To get GDP PPP - you dont use USD but international basket.
It's that simple.

So there are 3 GDPS if you will - GDP in rand (real GDP), GDP in dollars (Nominal GDP), GDP in PPP(as alternative to nominal)

The real GDP uses a deflator on the prize (nominal) to remove price changes from the base year - as you want to measure quanties of things produces - not get "confused" by price changes from inflation.

GDP is simple maths of price times quantity produced of all goods and services.

There is no controversy on the quantiles - it's on the prices or value of good & services - hence many variation of GDPs.

You can deflate GDP using the base year (real GDP) or USD or international PPP - but generally USD is the best deflator and nominal GDP in USD is GOLD STANDARD.
Because they benefited from I inflation, just when it was time to adjust their base prices, their currency recovered

Pained? How? I asked you to run to IMF a year ago and you wont be in this pain. Only Vaxx here seem to get it. You dont. For you this is just a bad dream you'll wake up from and cedis will be 3 to a dollar.

Just nailing IMF alone has assured everyone that Ghana gov is not sick like you.

They have been deranged for two years - until they went bankrupt - like Kwame Nkurumah did in 1962.

You see kwame refused to go to IMF - and the country was broke - army overthrew him and went to IMF.

Ghana bankruptcy started in 1962 - with same Ghanian pride.

The issue now is 10 years from now the Colleges that will meet all the standards for Uni will be upgraded into fully fledged Universities

Bolded-like I told Rvp2018 many moons ago... That's not how GDP calculations work..... You don't just increase your GDP by the % of your currency appreciation/deprecation.... You have a base price for a basket of goods which is fixed for a certain number of years
Yes ...
Those base prices have substantially increased in cedi term and
Ghana hasn't adjusted that base price since 2015 or 16...
The BOG will be doing so in 2023, which means that should the cedi appreciate any further, GDP will be substantially increase.

Yes, kenya livestock sector has long way to get to Botswana level. Ghana entire agricluture is mostly primitive.
Primitivity is when Kenya can't produce at substantial quantity and quality any of it staples to feed itself and be food secure because of how primitive your agric is.

You guys can't even produce rice because it is capital intensive and spend 1.8 billion dollars at retail prices on imported rice

Seasonal inflows from diaspora visiting home and positive sentiment from IMF/debt restructuring.
Could be a dead cat bounce or sustained.
We shall find out soon enough.
There is still question of Eurobond and external debt restructuring - and of course what IMF deal really entails.

In the meantime engage in xmas celebration and delusion.

You need to re-energize.
none of that are playing a substantial role .. we have inflows every year end but the cedi still depreciate worse.

To be appreciating this fast and in the month of December... It should tell you something

Cuba has nailed their healthcare. They have world class healthcare built on community health workers that ensure disease prevention. They can now export - even poor Kenya got Cuban doctors and we pay them.

Ghana has a long way to go. Quick check on WHO shows Ghana need to do way more to train community health workers. Instead of becoming a slave labour exporter for yet another century - please re-look at your country immediate needs - and focus your gov training there.

If there is excess labour nurses - why not train people in agricluture. I have seen videos of Ghana primitive agriculture and they can do with lots and lots of agricultural extension officers.
nonsense

Focus on your agricultural primitivity and end this mess else your country will never surpass Ghana in agriculture especially staples production ( something you have to do urgently because of your huge population)

You're just stupid ... I don't expect a lunatic to know these.

Wait for December inflation figures ... It will drop to 25%

The cedis only started appreciating last 2 weeks.
By January or February, inflation will be at 12% if we end the year with the Cedis at 4.

At this rate, the Ghanaian economy has surpassed the Kenyan economy in nominal terms at 127 billion dollars and a GDP per Capita of 4,093 dollars

By Monday it will be at 3 cedis to a Dollar.

The Ghanaian economy is back on track.. the central bank will have to intervene should it cross 5 because it will become a problem, just like the Russian Central bank had to.

Those nurses have families and relatives back home, they will surely send money back home which will be another source of forex for the nation.
Ghana govt should not copy kenya govt
Exactly so

But the problem is, the nurses and teachers are bonded by law and to break the bond they have to make a certain payment to govt or serve the country for a number of years for subsidizing their education.

what is wrong in taxing Ghanaian working abroad ? If that isn't possible, then taking away skillful profession like nursing and teaching should be monetize. Govt spent so much training an individual in becoming a nurse or teacher.
That is not a tax... This comes closer to selling them (a form of slave trade) whereby the govt went into an agreement with another government to export human being for their labour and receives a payout (selling).

It will be different if the individuals got their own jobs abroad by themselves and govt says that because they are bonded, their employer is liable to certain deductions per month or wholesome payment from the employees salary

it is only Ghana in west africa that pays student for studying to become nurses and teachers . No country does that . Removing the allowance is a right step. The allowance money can be channel into other thing more profitable in education and health sector.

Ghana has the one of the highest number of nurses to patient in the world, much more than the required limit of world health organization. We can really make more dollars thru them , we send them to country that are lacking In exchange of dollars . They pay to govt , just like the Ghana nurses deal with barbados and UK.. for every student that goes away , we should be making like 1000 pounds .
I really don't favor govt making money off others labour.... Govt should have no business in someone getting a job out of the country

And there is fewer option for them. People choose to become diploma nurse or teacher because it is believe it is easier way to secure employment. But that was before not anymore. We have too much of them in supply.
Either they cut their intakes into those schools or they remove the bond, remove the allowances and let them get jobs in places where their services will be much more needed.

The major problem with Accra is that open gutter. They should just work on that.
They've been covered in most places and in other places work is yet to begin. Those that have not been covered yet exist in residential areas where people don't really find it a problem because every now and then, they have to desilt it so their kitchen and bathroom water can flow freely.

In these places, lots of sand gathers on the edges of the road because of construction activities.
