From last year up to July this year chuck of our revenue goes into debt payment,” he sai As a middle income country, we dont have to be spending 41% of our revenue on debt servicing GHANA IS NOT GOING BANKRUPT LIKE NIGERIA ![]()

samorobo: ![]() the guy is talking about economic sophistication and you are here talking about GDP when you heard gdp you didnt hear anything again |
pokuasi:“Two days ago, I read that the percentage of government revenue going to debt services has risen to 70 percent. These numbers are not lying. They are public numbers. I read them in the newspapers. When you are spending 70 percent of your revenue on debt services, then you are managing 30 percent.

pokuasi:but it is a fact that the economy has increased in size that is why revenues increased and debt to GDP went down while debt to revenue went high |
pokuasi:i just showed you total peak generation for today and you are here making noise on what someone said it is right there in the pic i posted as 2615MW or so dont be a moroon ![]() |
vaxx:he is an slowpoke ![]() |
vaxx:this guy need re-education even my class 6 kid knows debt to GDP means nothing The German government budget for 2018 was 397 billion dollars Germany GDP is 4.1 trillion dollars The US waNT Germany to spend 2% of it GDP on NATO Germany cant afford it because 2% of their GDP is 82 billion dollars and 82 billion dollars is almost 25% of their budget. why would any sane country spend 25% of their budget on the military alone |

yes because as a country approaching upper middle income status, we shouldnt be spending 40% of our revenue on debt servicing. Because we have a lot of commitment |
pokuasi:VRA does not operate the grid they generate electricity you are daft mentally incapable of thinking on your own so desperate grasping for air ![]() VRA is not the only company that owns generating units. There is Karpower Centco IPPs |
pokuasi:
|
pokuasi:Ghana has an install capacity of 6000MW as we speak Only 3500MW capacity of plants are being operated at the moment which is currently generating an available capacity of 2900MW and current demand at this hour is 2500MW |
samorobo:still the principle of sustainability stands As long as your revenue can cover your loan repayment, you can still borrow more. Unfortunately, Nigeria is in a crisis because Revenue generated is very small and loan repayment is gulping up 70% of all revenue collected. the 30% left can't even pay government workers so your government has no option than to borrow more in order to pay the Federal workers and do developmental works. This circle only leads to bankruptcy. |
pokuasi:and we produce 3000MW daily 300MW extra to cater for either any sharp rise in load or an unexpected shortfall in supply. There is an extra 3000MW lying in reserves that is never used because, demand hasn't caught up yet. How much MW of electricity does Nigeria demand daily? Even your NEPA people dont know ![]() as we speak, NEPA is only producing 2400MW of electricity Most parts of Abuja hasnt seen light for months now ![]() |

Ghana has an electricity sharing agreement with Ivory Coast We give them electricity when their stations shut down for maintenance and they supply us when we lose some generation |
