Hello
Good evening house
Please how do Nigerian students there buy things from the store . Can you use your naira debit cards or when I get there I can immediately get a pounds card I can use. Particularly because of this limit on naira cards.
Please how do I go about this?
Thankyou
With ur NAIJA card, u can only withdraw about £60 every month.
Go to Aboki & change all ur naira into pounds. Travel to the UK with the cash in your pocket. (If the cash is up to 10,000 u.s Dollars, you will have to declare it).
Once you arrive and complete your registration as a student ( this will normally not take more than 25 minutes in normal times). Then you can get a letter of introduction from your school, then open a bank account. Then deposit all your cash there .

Alternatively, as soon as you arrive and get your BRP, download an app and see if any of the challenger banks will be game. Eg: Monzo, Starling, Pockit, Revolut, etc…

Hi guys, pls do you know an applicant or does anyone have personal experience with the Global Talent visa apart from Chuks16 with a PhD and plenty research papers?

Any ideas of any regular, non research people who have got endorsements?

Thanks!
You do not necessarily need to have 'plenty research papers'.
You need to prove that you are either an Exceptional Talent, or Exceptional promise.
You do not need a PhD if you are applying for TechNation - but you must be able to prove that you sabi I.T pass all those Indian pipu wey dey like say dem engrave d thing into dem DNA.

If you are wishing to use the peer-review route for endorsement, you need to have a proven track record.

If you can pay it into your high street bank (without stress), then youcan transfer to Revolut
Thank you very much.
I guess that’s where the problem is. Paying into my high street bank.

wonlasewonimi:
This is why you need a Revolut account, it would give you the best rate without commision without even leaving your bed.
Many thanks @ Wonlasewonimi (I can’t help but laugh out loud calling that name).

If I have Revolut, and I have the $$ in cash. As in 100 dollar bills. How to I get that into my Revolut account, please?

Thanks to everyone for the wonderful work of helping newbies on this platform.

I was sent 2,000 dollars in cash from Nigeria.
I want to convert it into pounds.
M&S bank told me it’s £64 for $100.
Post office is similar.
A high street money exchange I saw in East Anglia was offering me £60 for $100.

Please, does anyone know how best I can sort this and get good value?
I feel that what they are offering is just shitty.

Hello all /seniors , glad to finally be a part of this community. I just graduated from the uk student tier 4 pbs group

Please what is the maximum cash in pounds we are allowed to bring in to the Uk as students. ?
There is no maximum.

However, if you are carrying anything equal to, or greater than 10,000 USD, you are obliged to fully declare it. In the declaration form, you must be ready to state exactly and prove the source of the cash.

Hello everyone,

Please what's the name of the application that can be use to prepare for driving license theory test ?
This was the one I used.
Paid £4.99 for the full version.
Very very helpful.
Passed theory at first try.
ALL, I mean ALL the questions in the actual test were questions I had seen on the app.

Govt backed ISA, speak to your bank they all have such services!
I am interested in this government-backed ISAs.
Problem is, my bank (Barclays) doesn’t appear to have that service available.

Any hope for me then?

Thank you MamaTukwas.

Main applicant is on Global Talent Visa (e spread by the Royal Society).

Main applicant now gets an NHS Job.

When main applicant applies for dependants, can they apply as dependants of NHS worker, hence escape the IHS payment?

Mamatukwas:
What class of Visa are you on now? Are you saying you’re not sponsored by anyone? Usually dependents of Health workers are exempt as well but before anyone says for sure please clarify the class of visa.

Help still needed.
Anyone pleasehuh

JustAPasserBy:
Ladies & Gentlemen (I hope I am able to say that in this woke generation of wokeness).

I have a question, and I need help please.
This is my scenario.
I recently switched visas. My current visa does not tie me to an employer.

I now have a job with the NHS. I know that NHS employees and their dependants are exempt from IHS payments.

I wish to apply for my dependants to join me.
Will they have to pay IHS surcharge? It’s confusing because eventhough I will be working in the NHS, the NHS is not my visa sponsor.

Can someone help me get clarity, please?

Isn’t it great that I’m making my first post on this platform on page 666?

Please can anyone tell me a bit about Berkshire?
I just got a job offer in one of the NHS trusts. But as someone who has lived mostly in the East of England, I wonder how Berkshire is.
Any scoop from anyone?
