Donald Trump has finally avoided 3rd world war. Good grief!
With US aid to Ukraine withdrawn, and with Europe in shambles. Russia rolls into Kiev and takes over Ukraine. Russia declares victory. Ukraine is subdued and licks their wounds. Zelensky is offered asylum in Holborn/ St Pancras or Islington.
Where then is the 3rd world war Trump was trumpeting about?
PS: Putin has his hands on the ‘rare earth minerals’ too.
Now folks, let’s all go for our shifts/jobs/businesses/hustle. |

Cyberknight: Lol. Thank goodness you're not Zelensky.
If he did such a thing, everyone would fall about laughing. Donal Trump claimed he cares about Ukraine and how Ukrainians on the forefront are dying. If Zelensky surrenders today, will Russia still kill Ukrainians? Hell NO. War ends. Peace reigns. Life goes on… |

Smoky jollof or pounded yam + seafood okro...... 🍠😁😂 Say what you want to say. But let’s be honest. If Ukraine surrenders now. And Putin rolls into Kiev. And the Russia vs Ukraine war ends. Who loses? |

If I was Zelensky.
I would come to Lancaster house tomorow. Look Starmer, Meloni, Macron, Ursula (or their representatives) in the eye and say:
Ukraine was invaded by Russia because Ukraine & Ukrainians wanted Western-style democracy (and possible NATO membership). If not for you (and the Yakees), Ukraine would have fallen 3 years ago. Right now, you have just 1 choice. Either stand and defend Ukraine, or Ukraine will surrender and work closely with Russia.
Thank you very much. |

Am I the only one who feels a bit of pity for these Jubilating Syrians?
The jubilation and burning of grave and destroying statues seem like Deja vu. I saw those exact scenes in Iraq after Saddam Hussein and in in Libya after Gadaffi. If I am a Libyan, or an Iraqi, I may very likely prefer the Gadaffi days or the Saddam days.

Estroller: Post ILR, the no of years spent on any type of leave is irrelevant, it only matters when counting down to ILR. What matters for citizenship application is the 12 months spent in the UK after ILR. So yes the person can apply for citizenship. Thank you so much. This is much appreciated. Thank you. |

British citizenship after 4 years? Someone came to the UK in 2016 as a student. Then completed their studies 4 years later in 2021. They immediately got Global Talent visa.
With Global Talent Visa, ILR was done after 3 years. 12 months later, is that individual eligible to apply for citizenship?
Does the 5-year rule still count for this individual? Will part of the 4 years spent as a student count in any way?
Or does this individual need to wait another year (2 years on ILR) before they can apply for citizenship?
Anyone with any experience at all? Please help. |

Viruses: Pay using PayPal, not agree for PayPal. I'm confused. Let me explain. Whenever you use PayPal payment, you are required to select ‘reason for payment’. What @Lagosismyhome meant was, when selecting the type of payment, you are best off selecting “Payment for Goods “ option. That offers you greater protection in case sh*t hits the ceiling. |

missjekyll: Indeed, if you lie long enough and hard enough, you will indeed get some treatment. However, as no medical intervention is 100% safe, you will have exposed yourself to some nasties for nothing.
ITS ALWAYS A BAD IDEA TO LIE ABOUT YOUR HEALTH.
By all means , use the urgent care. You will be seen and be sent right back to your GP if not deemed hospital worthy.
I will not get into the "laziness" of GPs. The Daily Smell and its readers have written enough about it, I reckon. Don’t worry. If you like, call the newspapers all the derogatory names in this world. Experience has taught us a lot. A GP practice will tell you to only call at 8:00 am. There will be thousands calling at the same time. You don’t get through. You complain about problem with your skin, the GP practice insists on a phone/video appointment call. Me that is using a Nokia Torchlight. Me that is black skinned. How can video call help GP to examine me. Madam… we have heard you. We (at least myself) don’t need the newspapers to tell me that GPs are LAZY. They use the excuse of CoViD to hide behind phone and video appointments. Between Lexus430’s advice (born out of experience) and your own. I know which one to follow, which one yields results. |

mumzt: A lot of people are wondering how I'm doing it. Let me try and summarise.
It shocks everyone. Especially for someone that had all the help needed in Nigeria. But I was determined. My husband still does 98% of our expenses from nigeria.
I didn't work for the first 6 months. I finished all my school work. My course is 2 years, so now I'm on holidays till end of May. My advance practice starts in June. So it all just works out. I currently work as an administrator, Monday to friday, flexi hours but full time. So I chose to do 9:30-5. I don't work weekends at all. I'm a mother hen. I still love to be 5&6 with my kids. I go EVERYWHERE with them. Even in Nigeria, never used to leave them with maid or nanny. I wasn't working in Nigeria though.
It's expensive though, I must admit.
Now that I've started working, my 2 year old has to be in nursery from Monday to friday. So i pay for that. My neighbour picks the three of them from school and nursery and keeps them till 5, when I close. I pay her a token. And the kids love it there.
It takes a lot of patience. Can't be rushed. The idea of making money immediately is not realistic in this case. And you must get support from somewhere sha. I also built relationships with neighbours, that's why I got the help for after school.
I was initially paying for private after school for the older ones because their school doesn't do after school. Stopped when my neighbour offered to help.
Not as easy as it looks in black and white, but very doable. I'm resting now though. Got a visit visa for my mum and she's around. But my kids also learned a lot of independence around the house. We grew quite fast in the last 1 year. “My husband still does 98% of the expenses” Meaning: My husband is a ‘Big Boy’ in Naija. He earns (possibly in Naira), then converts to Pounds (£1 = ~ NGN 750). Then he sends the ££ to us in the UK to spend. “It’s expensive though, I must admit” Meaning: No try am if your other half cannot be able to be sending up to 98% for your needs. “The idea of making money immediately is not realistic” Meaning: If you are not already rich, very rich in Naija. No try am. You go wound. |

I parked my car in the work place parking lot (forgot to pull the handbrake). And went into the office. During storm Franklyn, car rolled back and ‘rested’ on a Mercedes Benz E. This broke the Mercedes Benz Logo on the front grill. I met with Mercedes owner and asked if repairs could be arranged outside of insurance. Today, I received a quote of £1,052 Which is really plenty (considering the small damage as I perceive it).
Now I am thinking of involving my insurance company. Is this a good idea please? Will my premium increase massively next year? Will this count as me involved in an accident? I am in year 3 of No Claims. Please is the No claims bonus (after 5 years) usually big? Is it worth it?
Please people Mek Ina No jump and pass. Help a sister. To all who responded to this, I thank you so much. I am grateful. |

jobinto: Nigerians are extremely docile people, it's been more than two months since TLS canceled priority services and asked all the people that have already paid for those services to request for a refund, I have asked around, there's no single soul that have been refunded, we are talking about hundreds if not thousands of people that paid a minimum of £220 for a priority service that wasn't rendered, some paid higher for super priority, TLS is not even bothered to reply to people's inquiries on when they are going to receive their money. Can they treat their UK customers like this? Or they are doing this because it is Nigerians and we are docile, this money from a rough estimate should be running into hundreds of thousands of pounds and they simply refused to give them back to the owners and won't even be assed enough to respond to your mails, it is disrespectful that you only get an automated message anything to try to enquire about your refund. You mean you have asked people who (like you) actually paid? Biko how did you arrive at that figure? Hundred if not thousands. Playing the race (Nigerian) card huh? I would advise that you be patient. And wait for Your refund. |

Chreze: If the UK were to be a person, I see it like those Aunties/uncles that have made a name for themselves as big Anty/uncle that tries to solve everyone’s financial issues. To the point when they don’t have, they go to borrow from other people to give to another person so as to keep their title “Big Anty/Uncle”, Then later turn around to be the one everyone is scolding in the family for having bad financial attitude/behavior.
I think the Uk/UK government are in a very bad financial place but keep acting like all is well. They promise a lot to people (Afghans), things they cant fulfill. They have a lot going wrong with them, but they feel they have a title globally and would prefer to involve in Ukrainian issues (to save their title) than focus on how to come out of their financial mess.
I see decisions of the UK/UK government affecting the other countries in the union (UK). I think it will be best for the union to be separated so that these other countries can take decisions that best suit them, and not let some group of undisciplined adults control their affairs. If they ever separate the other countries will do far far better than what the controlling country at the moment would achieve.
Since we are here already, it will be best to have an alternate plans. Plans that can be actualized outside the UK. I think it’s going to be a difficult run ahead for the UK and it’s residents. It will be fine at the end, but it’s gonna be ruff.
I may be wrong. Or maybe I am tired and need some rest. Abi a cup of wine. Time will tell. That is what daily doses of Nicola Sturgeon and Ian Blackford brainwashing pills does to new arrivals in Scotland. Somehow, they pretend that all their problems will disappear were they to secede from the Union. Let me ask; If Scotland secedes from the Union to join the EU (as they rant about daily), what currency will Scotland use? Euros, yes? Have you considered that the ‘National debt’ will be shared too and Scotland will pay too? Can Scotland comfortably afford it? You talk about the UK playing big Aunty/uncle . Do you know the stick received by the current government when they cut down a little on the foreign aid budget? You probably need to explore the views of the SNP to have an idea… they think the UK is not doing enough big uncle. |

And also to have some understanding of the methodology used for the polls. Additionally, we need to know the demography of the respondents in the poll.
As far as I could understand from the controversial ranking, the respondents were RESIDENTS of the area - more like self assessment. |

DFmum: Ok, I think I stated the reason earlier. He was refused visa 2015 and never got to know the reason for the refusal because nothing was on the mail and it was an agent that did that for him then, and didn't know he was banned as well. So now that we applied for dependant visa , they refused him and gave the kids, stating that he was banned in 2015 because he falsified document, meaning he can only apply after Oct 2025. If I were you, I wouldn’t engage a solicitor ( except and unless the solicitor services is FREE). Even so, I wouldn’t really want to push my luck too much. See that bolded part? If by mail, you meant email, I’m afraid, your (his) agent was fraudulent. The UK does not send visa refusal letters by ‘mail’. They put it in an envelope containing the applicant’s passport. The applicant can’t miss it at all. They also explicitly state reason(s) for rejection. My sister, on this occasion, the agent lied to your husband. Untill and unless your husband is able to kolobi the agent and get out the hard facts, a solicitor is just about to chop your money for nothing. |
