Religion / Re: May I Not Be Knowledgeable To The Extent Of Doubting Your Existence. by Justgenesis: 4:54pm On Oct 16, 2016 |
stephenmorris: I noticed how careful u were in specifying being enslaved by "foreign religions". Does it mean you dont believe in them but you believe in the traditional religions? If yes, then u subconsciously believe there is a God but If you don't, I'll dare you with a hundred thousand naira...(no joke) to dare/defile any shrine in your village and see the outcome. Either way, you will know the truth yourself. One point I want you to note is that the limit of knowledge about a thing is no prove that it doesn't exist. The prove for the existence or non existence of God is circumstantial but ur belief of any of them can be answered if you try any of my options above. 1 Like |
Religion / Re: I Have To Deny God So I Can Pass..should I? by Justgenesis: 10:21am On Sep 06, 2016 |
IhateYorubafool: First, in the same vain, I would double your $4000 if you provide solid evidence that there is no God. I wont attempt to reply your argument with the bible cos I am sure you have convinced yourself that it is all fantasy. So i'll go with common sense...that I am sure you can relate to. it surprises me that as Africans, we can even absorb the idea that there is no God and yet when you visit your village and see red cloth with cowries on the floor near your house, you avoid them like a plague and declare that your enemies are after you. You don't believe that their is God cos its all fantasy and yet you believe in juju...isn't that a contradiction? but if you say you don't believe in JUJU either, i'll double the bet and dare you to visit any shrine near you and desecrate it and see the outcome. Now, this brings me to another point...I believe our universe is governed by laws of balance...ying-yang, water-fire, up-down, good-evil, light- darkness...i believe you get the drift. In science, this is summed up by Newton's third law - action and reaction are equal and opposite. if there is juju, voodoo, dark magic or negative pseudoscience, then their should be an opposing force that keeps it in check and I am not saying they are equal but they have opposing properties. its in the same way you cant say water is greater than fire or fire is greater than water. they both have compelling abilities under different conditions. Finally, if you open your garage one day and realise that a brand new yellow Ferrari is parked in your garage and someone told you it just appeared there. it wasn't made by anybody and wasn't brought there by anyone that it just came into existence, I am sure you would recommend a special hospital for that person. You cant believe that a car with such perfection and beauty just appeared. you will look at the colour, examine the interior, take the ride for a spin and enjoy its grace and energy on the road and conclude that it was an intentional design by an intelligent creator. you would be stupid to think such engineering appeared from no where or by accident. its the same way I wont expect you to believe that the earth in its perfection just appeared from no where or that it was an accident. if you do a research on what conditions a system takes to sustain life, humans, animals etc like our planet, i am sure you would come to a conclusion that an intelligent being is responsible. I choose to call Him GOD. My opinions here are exclusively mine and is not in any way compelling you to worship him but would hopefully help you set the ball rolling on coming to an intelligent conclusion on If God exists or not. whether you believe he exists or not doesn't change the facts. If you say you don't believe in gravity, it wont stop gravity from existing. I strongly believe God exists and the reasons for our suffering on earth is as a result of man's actions. man constantly make mistakes with the freewill we have and is constantly looking to blame anyone other than themselves. This is common here in Africa where we have become lazy and wont take charge of our actions and expect God to take control. i hope you find the inner peace you are looking for and settle this once and for all. I will also advice that you do some check on some of the stuff you wrote like pictures of Jesus. i am sure you know that no picture of Jesus exists and that what you see are people trying to represent him in some form they understand. this is man's doctrine that is finding its way to religion. Education / Re: Effect Of This ASUU Strike On Students And Lecturers by Justgenesis: 10:17am On Oct 23, 2013 |

After reading what you wrote, i became so convinced that ASUU should continue the strike. Your spellings are terrible and yet you want to run back to the educational system that couldn't teach you how to spell internet properly and graduate from there to become some sort of professional that will endanger the lives of Nigerians and the economy. Let me be honest with you students who really don't know what its like after graduation, there are no jobs because of the kind of educational system we have. All the big companies most of you have mentioned will shortlist a graduate who studied in another country over you. Our certificates are worth shit outside this country because of the lack of infrastructures, commitment and equipments in our schools. its better you sit at home while ASUU fights the govt to a stand still and use the opportunity to gain some skill from courses and trainings cos you might end up graduating so soon and end up sitting at home for 7years without a job.(**No be curse oo. i have seen it several times and its not because these people graduated with pass degrees... they have the 2-1s and 1st class). There are a lot of courses and skills you can gain while at home and to be realistic, the chances of you working with the degree you earn in our institutions is soooo low! So i advice you, instead of complaining of the strike, go and get a skill now. I know what i am saying cos I studied elect/elect engineering and made the 2-1...but what i do now is far from elect/elect engineering. In fact, it is the project management skill i learnt outside school that got me the job. Please, try to stop complaining and give ASUU the support it needs so that you and our future generations will benefit from it. If we break even in the educational sector, other sectors like aviation, oil and gas, power, telecommunication and even our justice system will be propelled to seek for a revolution in their respective sectors thereby creating jobs for you and I suit and Nigeria will become a better place. |
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: GE Africa Early Career Development Program - Nigeria Graduate Trainee by Justgenesis: 10:58am On Sep 26, 2013 |
ecolime: It's good to be optimistic and also give all job openings your best shot. GE is a great place to work even though they are fond of holding peoples CV for months and eventually send a regret mail. Bro, no need to apologize. I have witnessed this first hand. They employ only people with foreign degrees. They even favour foreign degrees over experience. A friend of mine who passed their test, aced their interview and was promised the job. He was even given a tour of their facility and was told he would be called the next week for their medicals hasnt been called till today. He started this process with them since their so called "career fair" in ph early this year. we later found out that he was dropped and two of my ex classmates with Msc degrees from foreign universities who he informed to apply were picked. I forgot to mention that my friend has some experience with mobil and aker solution but they preferred to pick those who had masters degrees with no experience concerning what they do. Abeg, if you no get foreign degree, dont apply. They wont call you. I dont understand the kind of structure their HR guys operate. What they dont understand is that when they recruit the guys who have all the fancy foreign degrees that look good on paper and train them, they make them look very attractive for the bigger paying E&P exploration coys like mobil, chevron and co who can afford to pay better than GE. These guys would move to these bigger coys after GE must have spent so much training them. This happened to Halliburton and they had to review their stance. They no longer have this "recruit only fancy foreign degree" mentality after they lost so many of their engineers within a short space of time that it impacted the jobs and projects they handled. As long as you are good enough to pass their rigourous tests and interview, you are good enough for them and it is paying them in the long run. I hope GE will learn from this....I really hope. 4 Likes |
Religion / Re: Will The Mentally Disadvantaged People Be Judged After Death? by Justgenesis: 11:12am On Sep 13, 2013 |
omotayokay: The guy or his parents have sinned and they are reaping the fruits of their sins. Nevertheless, it maybe that the works of God be made manifest through him. Except he be healed, the guy can do but nothing when it comes to serving God hence, after his stay here on Earth, I hope God gives him another chance. If not, he will be judge according to the works of his previous life! Are you happy now? Really Judged by his previous life? is that even Christianity you are talking about? |
