Health › The Eight Dirtiest Daily Objects That Have Deadly Bacteria by justicejay(op): 5:17pm On Aug 15, 2016 |
justicejay: Bacteria are part of living organism that exists. There are good bacteria and dangerous bacteria that cause illness. This dangerous bacteria looms everywhere even on surfaces that one cannot imagine they would. They exist on objects that are used on a daily basis with some of them having more bacteria than a toilet seat. This means that people should be careful when using objects to ensure that they clean them often to reduce the amount of bacteria on them. Some of the bacteria include Ecoli, Salmonella, and Staphylococcus.
1. Ring A ring harbors more germs underneath it than anyone can imagine. This is because it is always fixed in one place no matter what the wearer touches. One washes dirt, goes to the washroom, touches dirty clothes and even eats when the ring is still on. The germs find a warm place to hide on the underside. To prevent the germs and bacteria, the ring should be removed and the area cleaned often.
2. Laundry Cleaning laundry is meant to remove all the dirt and germs. Most of the time the clothes are washed together with the underwear. Surprisingly underwear contains about 0.1 grams of fecal matter. Therefore, if you put your clothes and underwear together for washing, your laundry will end up with a trace of fecal matter. This has harmful bacteria such as Ecoli and coliform. The washing machines are not left out, because they also contain traces of the harmful bacteria and fecal matter.
3. Money Money circulates everywhere and people with all manner of dirt touch it. Apart from containing bacteria, research has shown that money also contains traces of cocaine in addition to other dirt. Most people are careful about washing their hands after handling dirt or going to the washroom. They are even wary of someone who touches their food with dirty hands. However, when it gets to the cashier who is handling their food order, they do not raise an issue. The truth is that the cashier may be harboring more germs than the dirty gardener.
4. Computer keyboard Nowadays computers have become like the book and a pen. The only problem is that they are hardly cleaned resulting to harboring more germs and bacteria. One can go into the washrooms and wash their hands afterwards, but go back to using a keyboard that has more bacteria than the toilet seat, and take a bite of a fruit at the same time. A cleanup at least once a week can help to reduce the amount of germs and bacteria present on the keyboard.
6. Kitchen countertop Foods pass through the kitchen countertop before they get to the table. The top is therefore exposed to all sorts of dirt and germs. The countertop may contain the Ecoli from the chicken and raw meat, dirt from the roots, dirt from utensils and so on. If the countertop is not cleaned and disinfected often, it can end up becoming a breeding zone for bacteria.
7. Mobile phone Mobile phones are touched all the times. It does not matter if you are in the kitchen cutting raw meat or doing clean up in the home. Some people even use their phones when in the toilet. This only exposes bacteria and germs to the phone. However, it does not occur to most people that the phones need to be cleaned often. The phones end up being a source of transmitting dangerous bacteria such as Ecoli.
8. Cutting boards Cutting boards is the place where chicken and raw meat is cut. If they are not cleaned properly, they can harbor dangerous bacteria such as Ecoli. It is dangerous to cut meat on a cutting board and then cut vegetables that are eaten raw without washing the board properly. Wooden boards are the biggest culprits of harboring germs because they have pores. Plastic boards are safer but they can also be chipped when cutting resulting to cracks where bacteria and germs can hide. www.healthypanda.net/8-daily-objects-dangerous-bacteria1/?utm_source=taboola&utm_medium=referral&utm_term=performmediagroup-goalcom-english&utm_campaign=dirtyobjectsdanergousbacteria&utm_content=Top+8+Dirtiest+Daily+Objects+That+Have+Dangerous+Bacteria |

Education › JAMB Denies Stalemate In Admission Into Universities. by justicejay(op): 6:19am On Aug 14, 2016 |
justicejay: The Newly appointed Registrar of Joint Admission Board, (JAMB), Professor Ishaq Oloyede, yesterday denied that there is stalemate in the admission of students across the various institutions in Nigeria owing the scraping of the post UTME screenings by tertiary institutions. Oloyede made this disclosure yesterday when he addressed media team at the Benin Zonal office of JAMB where he said the decision for every institutions to determine their admission criteria was arrived at after due consultation with the Senate, House of Representatives and other regulatory agencies like NBTE, NCCE, NUC and JAMB itself. “There is no ambiguity of what will happened. As it has been announced by the Honourable Minister for Education, Alhaji Adamu Adamu, there would be no written examination. No written Post UTME examination by any institution. “Apart from that, every other thing, issue, and matter remained as it used to be because the authority, autonomy and independence of the academic boards of the Senate of the respective institutions remained sacrosanct. They should determine their criteria following the directive of the Federal Executive Council to all Federal Universities about what should be merit, catchment areas, and every other thing remained as it used to be. “The only addition this year is, for now, there should be no written Post UTME examination. Any other thing, every Senate, academic board should determine its own admission policy. We must be fair to all. We must be Federal in our attitude. We must be equitable in whatever we do. We must not extort. We must not exploit the masses of this Nation. Every other thing remains. That is the position of JAMB”. On the issue of whether it was the unilateral decision of JAMB to post Students to schools of their choice he said, “The admission should be conducted as directed by the academic boards of the Senate of every respective institutions expecting only that; one, there should be no written Post UTME examination, two, the normal traditional guidelines as to spread in terms of merit, catchment area, EDLS for Federal Institutions remained so. “So each proprietor at the state level, private level will determine the criteria and once that is done, you will ensure they are strictly followed”. He however warned schools to avoid the urge to want to extort and exploit the masses of the Nation, as any such attempt will be resisted by every means necessary. https://www.today.ng/news/national/166522/jamb-denies-stalemate-adminission-universities |

Crime › Muslim Herdsmen Slaughter 13 Christians In Kaduna by justicejay(op): 9:34am On Aug 11, 2016 |
justicejay: A wicked group suspected to be Muslim Fulani herdsmen have reportedly gone on rampage, killing Christians in certain villages in Kaduna state. The herdsmen launched their attacks last week, killing at about 13 Christians and scattering members of three churches. A survivor of the attacks told Morning Star News that the herdsmen killed two Christian women in Ninte village on Monday, August 1. The source further revealed that she knew of eight Christians killed in Gada Biyu on Tuesday, August 2. Local newspapers reported nine people were killed in Gada Biyu, with another two men killed in Akwa’a on Wednesday, August 3. News of the massacre comes on the same day a new report was released by Media Research Center showing the US media have covered up the genocide of Christians in the Middle East. One of hundreds of Christians displaced from the area, Martha Yohanna of Alheri Baptist Church in Gada Biyu village, told Morning Star News that the attacks on Ninte and Gada Biyu villages were carried out by Muslim Fulani herdsmen. The Muslim herdsmen have become heavily armed in recent years. “On Aug. 1 at about noon in Ninte, the Fulani herdsmen attacked two Christian women and a man while they were on their farm,” she said. “They cut them with machetes. A woman and her daughter in-law were killed by the Fulani herdsmen while the man is still in the hospital as I talk with you.” The next day, the Fulani herdsmen killed eight Christians in Gada Biyu, including five identified only as Friday, Akoro, Mamman, Danladi, and Jerry, she said. Her brother-in-law, 25-year-old Joseph, is missing and is presumed to have been killed by the herdsmen, Yohanna told the news service. “It is over a week now that he has not been seen, and nothing has been heard about him,” she said. On Wednesday, Auguat 3, after security forces had turned away the herdsmen, she said the assailants returned to Gada Biyu at about 6pm to burn down houses. “They carried out the destruction for three hours,” Yohanna said. “I escaped from Gada Biyu to Gidan Waya on Monday [Aug. 1] when the Fulani came to attack the village at noon, and returned on Wednesday afternoon to retrieve some of our clothing. By the evening of that Wednesday, the Fulani herdsmen returned to my village to destroy our homes. They lit fire on some houses before policemen and soldiers were brought there to repel them. ” Stories of harrowing escapes are emerging from Nigeria, in Gada Biyu, near the Kafanchan, three Christian congregations were displaced as a result of the attack, Yohanna said. They include: Alheri Baptist Church, Sabon Rai Baptist Church and an Evangelical Church Winning All. “The three pastors escaped from the village during the attack, and since the attack have not returned to the village,” she said. “My pastor, the Rev Nathan Jaweson of Alheri Baptist Church, on Monday, following the killing of the two women in Ninte village, evacuated his family to Godogodo and returned to Gada Biyu. ” The pastor narrowly escaped being killed on Aug. 2 as he swam across the river at Gada Biyu. He’s now living as a refugee in Kafanchan. The pastor of the ECWA church has fled to Godogodo, while the whereabouts of the pastor of Sabon Rai Baptist Church are unknown, Yohanna said. Because of the attacks, the three churches of Gada Biyu held no worship services on Sunday, August 7. Alheri Baptist Church normally has about 300 members. https://www.naij.com/924303-outrageous-muslim-herdsmen-slaughter-13-christians-in-kaduna.html |
