Good evening all, I have been a guest of this forum for some years now, I decided to register after reading a story shared yesterday by NPTJ to also share mine and asked for advice as i am really confused right now. Although my own case is different as i am legally married. My husband and I have been married for five years now with two wonderful kids. Aside the reason for this thread, He's a very good husband and father to our kids. The issue is , he doesn't want me to go to the village with the children that automatically means I can't go as I'm still breastfeeding our second child , I cannot leave him and travel as he's not even up to one year. My husband and my parents stays in different states. We went to the village last year July and there's no plan of going this year, whenever I raise discussion about the issue he simply replied that we'll go when there's a need for us to go. I hardly go for any function in the village except it directly involves my parents. This has brought a lot of issues between my nuclear and my extended families. It wasn't like this when we married newly, we do visits them then and even go during Christmas holidays but all that changed when we had our first child, he feels we can't take the child to the village so that "village people" will not attack him. We've quarrelled about this severally yet nothing changes, I am tired of arguing about this . Please married folks, am I suppose to abandoned my extended family just because I am married? Please I need matured advice before I do something that I will regret. Is my husband right on this ? has anyone been in my position, please help me. He goes to his village whenever he has any issue to sort out but I cannot His reasons may actually not be because he think your village people will attack his babies spiritually or anything like that. He may be considering the stress of those long journeys on your little kids . Like in my case now , my parents and in-laws are in Lagos and I stay in Ogun state with transport fair less than 1k to them but we have not been to Lagos State this year and we actually supposed to be at a family gathering in Lagos tomorrow but we decided to shelve that trip because of the bad road , mad traffic and it's effect on our body and our little children (The last one is less than 3 months old). The expenses someone incur when you travel to the village may even be another reason why your is trying to prevent frequent visits to the village unless the expenses will be solely from your pocket. |

Iamvetlander: I was strolling outside my street to go get a bag of water (5:32) when two military personnel approached me and my friend, (a girl) they wrong said I am part the people that use to come and destroy military property.
Before I knew it this men started beating me in front of my guest, they made me feel less a Man. I was beaten blue black my fellow nairalanders. As if that was not enough they told me to call my people and told them that I have been arrested by the Nigerian Army (all of that to make my poor mom scared so she will send money) To crown it up they made me transfer #10,000 from my bank account to one of the civilian boy working with them. ( My bank statement is a prove cause they made me delete my alerts)
While they were parading me on the street, nobody came close to ask what Happened, ( I understand they were also scared too) they picked another guy randomly accused him the same way they accused me. They collected #19,500 from to that same account.
Please Nairalanders I need your help so that this men will not go scott free. Below are pictures of me after I was released around 10:57pm Post this on Twitter and tag as much celebrities , activists and military official handles |

mountmoriah: This is a professional advice to u sir, when the plastering is going on make sure yours windows and wooden frames are available on site before the plasterers leave the site including your front entrance security door into your family lounge and kitchen exit door is available, the plasterers have no choice than to fix, dress and make this windows and doors frames stand to beautify their work, but if fail to provide it for them, they will do their job and leave your site, but when those windows and frames doors are ready the plasterers may not have your time again because they will have been engage or have nothing on them to live on,when u called them back to site to fix these windows and doors frames they will charge u extra cost for your inconvenience to them at that point.
Take this points I gave u to the bank u will get value for it and thank me later.
God bless u in this journey Thank you so much for this Sir . I will do as advised |

I've decided on this one and I think it will serve my purposes. It has the low voltage capability 80volts., you should check yours too. Additionally it also conditions the line for over voltage and spikes. Thanks boss |

Will the attached solve this situation? Any direct experience on this specific device?

twosquare: Based on history, Olukere of Ikere is the actual ruler of Ikere-Ekiti before Ogoga, who is a hunter, came.
They have been in the tussle for years... But the government release actually said this Olukere will preside over just a portion of Ikere which is Odo oja community. Can you see the confusion Sir? |

sojiboy: PRESS STATEMENT
IMPLEMENTATION OF THE WHITE PAPER ON THE REPORT OF THE HONOURABLE JUSTICE J.B.K ALADEJANA CHIEFTAINCY REVIEW COMMISSION, 2021/ IN THE MATTER OF THE APPLICATION OF THE ODO-OJA COMMUNITY OF IKERE EKITI AND ITS TRADITIONAL HEAD-OLUKERE.
1. The Government of Ekiti State established the Honourable Justice J.B.K Aladejana Chieftaincy Review Commission (the Commission) in February 2019 in response to agitations from communities across the 16 Local Governments Areas of Ekiti State for the review of the status of their traditional rulers, existing chieftaincy declarations and requests for autonomous status.
2. Specifically, the terms of reference of the Commission include:
• Examine the upgrading and otherwise of recognised chieftaincies,
• Look into the autonomy/ recognition of communities,
• Review the merits of the chieftaincy declarations by agitating communities,
• Investigate the customary laws on appointment of all recognised chieftaincies in the State and make recommendations for possible changes in the existing chieftaincy declarations and also suggest guidelines fir the preparation of such documents,
• Look into issues relating to the status of obas and chiefs, their paraphernalia of office and order of precedence,
• Look into the Chieftaincy laws of the State and make specific and general recommendations on chieftaincy matters in the state,
• Examine the upgrading or otherwise of recognised chieftaincies, review autonomies, make recommendations for recognition of agitating communities as independent towns from their mother communities as well as for chieftaincy declaration
3. Following the submission of the report of the Commission, a white paper committee was constituted in November 2019. The white paper from the report was published in December 2019.
4. The Odo-Oja Community of Ikere-Ekiti submitted a memorandum to the Commission including an application for recognition as an autonomous town and its traditional head as an Oba. The Commission found merit in the application and further affirmed the eligibility of the Odo-Oja Community to be recognised as an autonomous town and its traditional head as Oba.
5. In furtherance of the ongoing review of the implementation of the white paper on the report of the Commission, Government has revisited the recommendation on the application of the Odo-Oja Community of Ikere Ekiti. Government accepts the recommendation of the Commission. The Odo-Oja Community of Ikere Ekiti is accordingly granted autonomous status and its traditional head- Olukere is hereby recognized as an Oba.
Signed
Adegboyega Morakinyo Executive Secretary Bureau of Chieftaincy Matters Government and their nonsense abracadabra. This is how they deliberately set the state on fire and create problems among the citizens. Since the new recognized king is presiding over a small and a particular (odo oja) community out of the larger ikere Ekiti community , it is wrong for the new king to be bearing the title of Olukere of Ikere because that title automatically grant him power beyond his Odo-oja community. I won't be surprised if the Ikereland go up in flames because of this nonsense |
