If you think Obaseki is fighting Oshiomole because of money then you're on a long thing because the money he's spent trying to remove Oshiomole as the national chairman would've settled it but he's fighting Oshiomole in a bid to whittle down his influence in the state's political arena . he want to diminish Oshiomole politically and you don't expect Oshiomole to cave in without fighting back .

I love the valid point raised by Obaseki that the direct primary election which involves more than 400k people could cause the spread of COVID-19.
He should quickly align with the state assembly to promulgate a law banning any public gathering that holds more than 100 in a confined space including ralies till the end of the year.
Passing this bill into law will automatically checkmate Oshiomole's plan to hold direct primaries in the state.

If he ban the gathering of over 100 people tell me how his preferred indirect primary will be staged because they will need to fill up a stadium with thousands of delegates traveling from every nooks and crannies of the state mingling together and spreading the virus within themselves.


Indirect primary is more dangerous at this time

If not that Nigeria being what it is, ordinarily, thinking of a direct method won't work but as the powers that be want it, Obaseki is obviously on a losing side.

His reason is not genuine in any way .


Direct primary will occur in each units with maximum of 500 voters in attendant. Some units may not even have up to 50 voters unlike the indirect primary where they will have to camp over 5000 delegates , observers , journalists and all manners of people in a stadium.

It is far better having hundreds of voters scattered away from each other than having a stadium filled with people in the name of a primary election
