I dabbled in blogging so permit my writing as I'm not very good with words. I never have been, mostly I get tongue-tied and my words get tangled. So let's do best understand as we go on to and narrate a personal innovative experience on the internet. I've been a member of NL for decade now, and felt the growth within before considering to open this thread. I'll be updating through your thoughts and shares about internet, Blockchain technology. I was opportuned enough to witness the inception of internet locally within the average Nigerian state (Abia) in 2004, but fully in 2005 after my WAEC. Having worked/served as a cafe attendant in 2007, we witnessed the influx of the youths into internet fraud popularly known as (Yahoo Yahoo). During the period, it wasn't all worth venturing, as there were abundance of opportunities littered over the internet space. INNOVATION: Innovating the internet, I grabbed and followed up how the internet swept through, mainly moving from a regular Computer services; desktop, Laptop and cyber cafe world to our mobile phones, then Java, Symbians to China mobile etc. Technology affects almost every ascept of 21st century life, as part of life as we all know, technology brings innovation and changes, whether we're ready for it or not. Following the trends of internet we graduated from Web 1.0, to Web 2.0 and now Web 3.0. Going from posting, working, creating and doing lots of things on the internet. In enters Blockchain technology which includes digital currency Cryptocurency, within the internet. Lucky few saw the opportunity and the cash (money)to join in within 2009-2011 Bull Run and got huge rewards (Profits) and benefits as early adopter's. Most internet users due to no capital, right source and risk management, missed the opportunity. Blockchain/ Cryptocurency as part of the internet which almost every internet user is making use of today, as an income base system. Yet we find many neglecting, arguing, brandishing it fraud, scam without truly learning, research and understanding what it's all about in it's true nature, a digital currency for the internet. Naijaloaded comes to mind, during the early blog days Naijaloaded was a hit site/forum providing the masses updates, news, music, Network cheat codes and movie downloads. before Nairaland took center stage, gained ground on the Nigerian internet space. Fast forward to 2022, Naijaloaded in my opinion don't match Nairaland's traffic and popularity. Yet Nairaland feels reluctant to change and keep innovating as the internet pushes towards Web 3.0. Blockchain technology; Cryptocurency, Web3.0, NFTs and the Metaverse are all what we internet users should tap into. Government wouldn't have that for different reasons doesn't make them illegal. Smart folks see that, that's why they're all positioning, learning, Innovating, earning while lots of you are doubting and badmouthing like we always do in Nigeria and Nairaland.

The move to embrace cryptocurrency is gaining momentum in football Ex-Arsenal defender Kieran Gibbs has explained why he has converted part of his current Inter Miami salary to Bitcoin and joined other football players in embracing cryptocurrency investment. Gibbs, now likely in the back-end of his career in MLS, wants to protect his wealth against inflation by putting some of his money in an alternative asset. And while he has resisted telling others to follow his lead, he has suggested he won't be the last to convert his salary to Bitcoin. "You start from the beginning - before we discovered gold - and you read through history, it just fascinated me," Gibbs said to the Daily Mail. "It's a very powerful technology. "Without getting too deep, look at how many people in the world don't have access to a bank account. The fact that all you need is internet and a smart phone [for cryptocurrency]. "Then, you're instantly given access to probably two billion people, to services that obviously we're so used to, but a fifth of the planet aren't. "If I was to get paid in dollars for the next three years, the way the economy is at the moment, I'm going to lose around 10 per cent of that a year [through inflation]. But my contract doesn't increase." Gibbs went on to say he likely wouldn't be the last to convert salary to Bitcoin before saying: "I would never tell someone what to do. But, by me announcing something, at least it makes people aware. And then they can at least get educated on it." Will this become a trend? Converting salary to Bitcoin is a simpler approach to cryptocurrency than many football players have taken. Rather than diving into the murky world of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), Gibbs has directly invested in a fungible alternative currency. He's far from the first player to receive cryptocurrency benefits, as even Lionel Messi received a cryptocurrency bonus in his Paris Saint-Germain contract last summer. A prominent U.S.-based player representative told GOAL last year that his clients have requested crash courses on cryptocurrency. He said he expects some will become involved in the market in the coming years. So despite massive fluctuations in the value of Bitcoin on a month-to-month basis, Gibbs is likely an early adopter in a trend that will continue in the coming years. |
Oddfinder:don't deviate, Cryptocurency have real life solving token. When you have those you don't tag em all fraud. That's why research and white papers were attached to good crypto projects. Using you touch light for those doesn't stop those with Tat coin from doing same |
Oddfinder:don't wallow in your foolery Cryptocurency solves real life problems eg TAT COIN check their ABitpay uses and stop spreading fools words. You can use Tatspace token here in Nigeria to pay bills like DStv, Gotv, Betting, buy airtime, pay electricity bills, invest in Agriculture and real estate and if that's not real life solving Crypto I don't know what is ![]() |
sotall:just as you're using the internet to show naivety, soon you'll be using crypto to do that too. Keep lacking knowledge ![]() |
The legendary Brazilian full-back joins the likes of Mesut Ozil and Antoine Griezmann in embracing alternative currencies Brazil icon Roberto Carlos has launched a new cryptocurrency based on his likeness, GOAL has learned, with the digital asset going by the name $RC3 and trading on the Rally platform. The move represents yet another football player embracing alternative currencies as well as Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), with the ties between the sport and crypto strengthening at a rapid rate since the start of last year. Carlos, however, is one of the first players to create their own form of cryptocurrency. What is the point of Carlos' coin? In addition to being an investment vehicle, Carlos has promised that fans can use the coin for merchandise giveaways, private NFT drops, and other benefits and experiences. What has been said? “I’ve been interested in crypto for a while, and excited to take the leap with $RC3 where I can share access and ownership with my biggest fans,” said Carlos in a statement provided to GOAL. “Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate enough to build incredible relationships with fans all over the world and $RC3 represents a new frontier to take the connection to the next level.” Who else has been involved in cryptocurrency & NFTs? At the organisational level, clubs and national teams have partnered with companies such as Socios to promote fan tokens in lucrative deals; Inter have Socios as their main shirt sponsor this season. There are also NFT-powered fantasy football platforms such as Sorare that are officially licensed. Meanwhile, some players, such as ex-Arsenal full-back Kieran Gibbs, are being paid in part with cryptocurrency. Others have embraced the world of NFTs to varying degrees of success - with Mesut Ozil's Mexican club Necaxa selling a small slice of ownership via NFT, for example, and John Terry peddling NFT monkeys on social media. |
Thanks for the info and knowledgeable experience on this project, many wouldn't graps what's ahead in web3.0, NFTs and Metaverse |
Prosperity4All:well I could but definitely not on Nairaland cause they're naive and always prone to banning what they've no understanding of. I do that mostly on my WhatsApp now |

Barcelona plan to create own cryptocurrency and intend to launch own NFTs - Laporta Barcelona are planning to create their own cryptocurrency and launch a range of NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens), club president Joan Laporta has confirmed. The Camp Nou chief says they have rejected those advances in favour of developing their own in-house digital currency, and has stressed the importance of being "imaginative" in order to generate additional revenue outside of football. A number of cryptocurrency companies have approached Barca over a potential partnership since Laporta's re-election in March, 2021. Laporta outlined his vision at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this week, with the club now taking steps to create a metaverse filled with digital assets unique to the Blaugrana brand. "We're developing our own metaverse, [which is why] we rejected the chance to be associated with any cryptocurrency enterprises," said the 59-year-old. "We want to create our own cryptocurrency and we have to do that ourselves. We are different because we survive financially from what we can generate through the industry of sport. "We do not have big corporations or shareholders behind us. That forces us to be imaginative, innovative, brave and be a step ahead in many areas that surround the sports industry." Barca eager to tap into international market Shortly after Laporta's return to Camp Nou, Barca posted record-breaking debts in excess of €1 billion, and have since had to offload a number of first-team players in order to reduce their wage bill - including all-time top scorer Lionel Messi. The Blaugrana are now exploring ways to monetise the supporters that follow the club across the globe to boost their financial position, with Laporta adding on their cryptocurrency venture: "It's something we can share with our fans around the world -- around 300 million of them. I could announce something else, but I have to be prudent because it's confidential still. "The players know what we're working on, that this is a modern club that makes use of new media. There are clauses in their contracts related to the NFT world and the metaverse. |
