I wish that people follow the Islamic law on inheritance.
There is provision for everybody in it.
Of course, he didn’t wish for an untimely death, hence not protecting his parents in his will.
In Islamic law, since his parents are alive, they have a right to his property. I am not sure that his siblings have this right since he has children.
His parents should be well taken care of and his children should get a substantial part of his wealth. |

Abuja Needs a good transportation system I join those commending the minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike on the road projects he has embarked on.
However something that is very critical in the FCT is the transportation system. It is sad to see taxis putting four people stuffed like sardines at the back seat and two in front at Nigeria’s capital city, at this age and time.
Abuja can borrow a leaf from Lagos and consider the BRT system and metro.
The problems posed by these taxis are too many. They drive recklessly, pack to pick passengers on the road(I believe that 70% or more of hold up in Abuja are caused by these taxi drivers) and most importantly, they are a security threat. One chance is their middle name.
Another benefit to the mass transportation is people would less likely use their cars when there is a reliable means of transportation, it will decongest the roads, reduce air pollution, and reduce the cost of fuel on people. |

Islam › Re: The Fasting Of The 9th And 10th Days Of Muharram (tasu'ah & Aasuroh) by justlovesfarmin: 7:12am On Jul 15, 2024 |
Lukgaf: On this blessed day of July 12, 2024, we are fortunate to witness the 6th day of Muharram, 1446AH. According to the NSCIA's calculations, the upcoming Monday and Tuesday mark the auspicious days of Tasu'a (9th) and Ashura' (10th) of Muharram, respectively. Fasting and good deeds on these days hold immense spiritual benefits.
Let us emphasize the significance of fasting on Ashura', the 10th of Muharram. Our beloved Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Fasting on Ashura' is of great merit and expiates the sins of the previous year" (Muslim). Additionally, fasting on the 9th of Muharram is highly recommended, following the Sunnah and distinguishing us from the Jewish community (At-Tirmidhi).
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) fasted on Ashura' in solidarity with Prophet Musa (peace be upon him) and encouraged his Companions to do the same. Before his passing, he recommended fasting on both the 9th and 10th of Muharram. Thus, it is our Sunnah to observe both days.
Sheikh Sayyed Sabiq emphasized the significance of Muharram, stating that the best fasting after Ramadan is in this blessed month (Fiqh As-Sunnah). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) clarified that fasting on Ashura' is voluntary, with no compulsion.
Muslim scholars have outlined three levels of fasting on Ashura':
1. Fasting for three days: 9th, 10th, and 11th of Muharram (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this year). 2. Fasting on the 9th and 10th of Muharram (Monday and Tuesday this year). 3. Fasting solely on the 10th of Muharram (Tuesday this year).
May Allah make it easy for us to fast these blessed days. Let us strive to observe this noble tradition and encourage others to do the same. Together, may we seek Allah's mercy and blessings during this sacred time.
Please remind others to partake in these special fasts, and may Allah shower His grace upon all of us. How did fasting on the eleventh come into it? Scholars says 9th and 10th. What is the proof for the 11th? |

jeff1993: You see women..... Men should always be wary of them!!! ..... Apart from ur Mum and sisters, treat any other women in your life including your wife with same caution as u treat a SNAKE!!!
Be ready to take definite sharp action(I dont mean Domestic violence) against them when u feel threatened and when is absolutely necessary. Women fear a ruthless Man cos they know he is unpredictable.
The society is tilting against men in any altercation they have with women so Men need to be sharp.
I read the Jarus story and I felt sorry for him. How will u ask a Muslim man not to take a second wife when u as his wife u are aware of his religion and u know it allows him to marry up to four wives. Would u prefer him to go and have plenty side chicks outside or to bring the woman home and wife her?
He told u of his intentions, yet I decided to make a fuss out of it even after placating g u with gifts and sorts worth almost 50M which he is not even supposed to do coa it's his right as a Muslim man to take a second wife.
Shiooooorrrrr Birds of a feather. What is there to feel sorry about? He beat his wife and posted it on social media with his own hands. If this is not stupidity, tell me what is. Make sure you get home and beat your wife too since that’s a mechanism to gather pity. |

faceland: I think it was the opposite. I don't remember anyone thinking Mr. Biggs was trash.
It was competitors that push them out (as they set unrealistic standards and were too sure if themselves).
My father applied, they told him he needed 4 million of in those days money (that would be 40 million of today's naira based on dollars exchange). Then they made some crazy demands like; it must be on a major road (they want it on the road, your property or rented building). People with that type of money are not usually patient enough to nurse a new business-location (they want profit today, those capable of running the show, can't afford the prerequisites).
They felt no one could beat them and overnight many Asians came with their own recipes. Nothing special. Just fry suger and rob it on the body of your finished junk-food, the end.
Anyway, 99% of my comic books back then ware sponsored by them and Guinness Mult. That you don’t know of anyone does not mean that there was no one. I had bad experiences with some Mr bigg’s outlets and concluded that they were bad. I didn’t know they were running it as a franchise. Also their grilled chicken wasn’t the best tasting. When the likes of sweet sensation came on board, they served food the naija way and that was better for people. |

Frost124: Good day nairalanders, thank God this site is a faceless forum... Few weeks ago my dad told me he is HIV positive, when he told me I was disappointed but I made sure I didn't show it and I encouraged him... Him and my mother has been sick for a while and I certainly know he has transferred it to my mum.... My dad was very promiscuous when he was younger even after he married my mom he was still promiscuous. I am the only child and I have been footing the bills for their medical cares I am just 26 years old and I have spent so much and there is more spending still to come.... My father only told me, my mother is not aware of her health status all she thinks it's just a normal sickness happening to her. I have no one to talk to, I don't trust any friends because I believe when I tell them, they will certainly spread the news and you know the stigmatization against HIV patients, it's not good... I am frustrated, depressed and financially drained, sometimes I stay in my room and cry.... To avoid thinking, sometimes I just drink some alcohol... This issue has been in my heart for several weeks I just had to put it on Nairaland to ease my pain. My father just called me today that my mom has been admitted to the hospital, she was too weak to even walk.... Another spending and I am running out of cash, don't know what to do anymore. It wouldn't be this severe if they found out earlier, it's almost late. May God help me and my parents. HIV treatment is free. I hope you are not being scammed. Also, your mother needs to get tested to know her status so she can get the needed care. They can live normal lives with treatment. |

Jossyfine: Personally I don't cook my pumpkin leaf, after all my ingredients have been mixed and well cooked, I re-waah my pumpkin leaf with boiled hot water, when I bring down my pot and turn off the cooker I now add the said leaf The beauty of edikakong is eating it when the leaf is still fresh. Cuz cooking it for 5mins will kil all the nutrients in the pumpkin leaf.
But the soup is Bae any time any day Putting in boil water will also ‘kill’ the nutrient like you said |

NeoWanZaeed: Assalam alaekum warahmatulah wabarakahtuhu brothers and sisters. I'll like to clear the misconceptions that has to do with people about Islam and Muslims about Islam.
1. People generally believe that what makes someone to be identified as a Muslim is when the person offers or observe salat. 2. People generally believe that someone who parades himself or herself as (Alfa, Shehu or Sheha) whereby people go to them with their problems seeking from answers or solutions is okay. (JALABI) 3. People believe that Muslims and Christians worships the same ilah (God) Your first point is not a misconception. What distinguishes a Muslim from a non-Muslim is salaat |
