I'm not an economist or a financial analyst but lemme ask u a simple question...youve got 100,000 naira and your house rent is due likewise your house rent,ur kid's school fees,insurance (in this case let's assume it's available in Nigeria) which of these problems will ypu solve first and why?

Actually, your reason still doesn't add up. Having streetlights on our roads is also a form of security. More crimes are committed under the cloak of darkness. With streetlights some of these petty criminals who snatch bags and attack motorists would not be so daring. Also it makes driving more easier as your are able to see well ahead of you. If you have driven on that stretch of road at night when it is pitch dark you will understand. Even full lights sometimes does not help. First time I saw those street lights on, I said a prayer for those who thought to light it up after all these years. Add well lit streets to proper police presence and crime is definitely going to drop.

How does this improve the economy? A very secure city, state or country usually tends to experience economic growth as everyone likes to live in a safe environment and business activities too can thrive because people feel safe. And those market people who are rushing home are not likely to get robbed of their days earnings while stuck in traffic on a dark road.
