Think about this in a common setting, you can read a chemistry book all your life and not understand the material until you get practical with it.

That would be a waste of productive time. Still remains, the write-up isn't the true pictue of Nigeria, but I have yet to argue that the write-up is false. If you want the true picture of Nigeria, CNN won't thoroughly give it to you, the write-up won't either, the truest picture is the picture you see for yourself. go and take a look.

We can live in denial for all the world cares, figures and statistics don't lie, the standard of living via the HDI provides an accurate picture of the true Nigeria and it is appauling

You're right.  I also feel 80% of the girls have missed the essence of the topic.  It's meant for them to share their opinions on what they think of the guys here, highlighting the purpose of the forum, to share opinions.  As soon as they saw "gentlemen" the topic got derailed.  majority of them have said the men are not gentlemen, but what are they?  I suppose it would have been better to title the thread "What do you think of the Men on Nairaland" since it's clear they don't think the men are in any way "gentle".  It's a silly thread but would be interesting nonetheless.

I am not arguing about the reputation or factuality fo the report, I am in agreement with Seun.the provided data holds some significance, but literally speaking it does not present the "true picture" of nigeria, if it does, what would you consider the "fake picture" of Nigeria.

A picture is worth a thousand words homies, there's no better picture than experiencing the obscure nature of Nigeria in person. Beats any data, in my book.

"shit packers" is an outrageous and offensive term, even the OP knows this. I bet he gave the thread that obscene title to have his opinion read, to capture NIDs attentions, and also generate some feedbacks.

Some Nigerians working in Nursing homes taking care of the elderly are likely to encounter feces, yet that doesn't mean all NIDs are "shit packers."  A wide selection of Nigerians oversea hold highly respectable jobs and positions in their various work environments.

the data is nice and all, being that it teaches you some new things you probably didn't know, but at the end of the day the thread title is misleading. that report doesn't give you the true picture of Nigeria.

well seeing as you are beloved Aunt Radiant, I'd like your opinions on who can be classified as gentle, or at least in your book.   Tell which criteria you used in your selection process as well.

In my experience, Nigerian men are the most diligent and firm dressers. Cloth starching, ironing, bleaching, etc. Even the men with not-so-many dress choices make sure their clothes match and they keep them neat.

What matters is, you still love us either way, so no sweat. I just felt like mentioning it.

How contradictory. First you say all of them ain't gentle, then some are? which one is it?

We can also say that the girls don't think the guys are gentle because they're too hot-minded. So many girls on this forum will curse you out if you disagree with their posts.
