Pls, stop celebrating mediocrity, he's only doing his job. pedestrian bridges n lay-by are not worth d fuss.
so, no reputable Nigerian engineering company that can build this or d govt just choose not to patronize themhuh When unilorin civil engineering graduates actually oversaw d construction of a flyover in ilorin, smh.
I commend u for dissecting this so called development in which gullible Nigerians are praising Ambodefor giving away jobs and contracts that Nigerian companies can handle and learn from to foreign companies. This is a case i believe Ambode intentionally gives out these contracts to Chinese companies especially because he gets some kickbacks when these contracts are awarded to these foreign companies. A Chinese official Will never do same 4 a naija company. Our people no get sense sometimes

Another way to look at it. Probably some Lebanese guys are smiling to the bank now, after convincing and bribing lagos state govt to instal a useless infrastructure.
Valid points raised here. God bless you.
Yes, a Lebanese contractor who successfully bribed the Lagos state govt for this white elephant project is winning and smiling to the bank now.
The worst thing is that most people don't really understand tgat a country that want to survive and thrive in a modern economy to has to have the tech know how which they use and also sell to generate foreign earnings. If our govt is always relying on always buying from the oyinbos and Chinese instead funding our universities for hitech devlpmnt project means they don't mean well for the posterity of this nation. In fact they could be classified as traitors of our development.

Eg, For the hype about Buhari wanting to share the recovered Abacha loot equally amongst all the 36 started, with his approach, the money will go into the same hands of dirty politicians who will misuse it. Instead of his proposed sharing formulae, a visionary leader would have allocated about 40% of that money to the hitech and biological research efforts ofuniversities in nigeria doing major work in this areas.
How does companies like IBM improve on their chip technology? It is through their funding of research effort in major US universities that gives them the answer to their tech questions. All these major tech companies rely mostly on the research findings of the universities to thrive. Amy nation thst wants to advance technologically cannot underestimate the importance it's university science/engineering professors and the PhD students because their work is major backbone of any nation's tech industry.
Another major problem is that our people just love the easy route to solving their problems and politicians are capitalizing on this culture and also getting very rich from our stupidity.

Looks nice but people don't be deceived. Ask urselves, how much of this installation was done and produced by indigenous companies. Probably nothing in this project was handled by a naija company. So, guess how much foreign reserve of Lagos state is going out to foreign companies and guess how would have been saved if an indigenous had the know was a major part of this project, probably this installation would have cost Lagos state 2times less than the cost of handling this project. So consider overall effect who did this project, though it makes Lagos look more modern, but can most other states in naija afford to install this system too, the answer is no because they can't afford it like Lagos state.
Imagine if our universities have a strong financial budget for research and development which can hyperdrive our own tech advancement to make and save or lots of money, so I wonder why a country like naija with enough human and intellectual resources will always need oyinbos and the chinese companies for any major hi-tech project that we embark on.

For now, na follow follow we dey do and most of us don't even realise how stupid our govt keep us behind by always relying on foreign hands do major project like this one because these politicians make lots of money from giving out these majoe contracts to foreign companies.

That Ibeto NYSE listing was his biggest business move ever.

This was why dangote got desperate and started opening warehouse in the East. The same east he was avoiding for years. His biggest market is the east now when you consider all the construction going on.

He opened one in Asaba last year and hurriedly opened the one Owerri on this year.
That's the good thing about business, it a competition, so only the best survives

RIP to the deceased but you "could give the killer N1million" but couldn't pay him good or complete salary. I don't support evil though.

Some "big" men living in all these Abuja estates specializes in using domestic staff as slaves.

My Christian brother told me how a Clergy living in Life Camp axis employed him as Personal Assistant, guess what, he was also the errand boy, and driver too. He did work overtime, and at times went to work on Sundays. His salary (35K) wasn't disclosed to him until two weeks into the job. He resigned as soon as his salary was disclosed.

Lesson: Never treat your domestic staff (Driver, Cook, Gardener or gate man) badly. Your life may be in their hands.
It's that Africa man mentality of most Afican ogas and madams not giving a Bleep and looks down on a fellow black that serves him or her. If Nigeria really wants to move forward as country, it has to professionalise domestic work as an occupation where the workers have well negotiated job contract with full human rights and respect. I know this is easier said than done because this is Nigeria where we're too slow to solve social problems that militates against our society and avoid tragedies as this one

Welcome to entrepreneurship in Nigeria. It's not going to be easy oga Iyke. What a stupid viewpoint. Where were this criminals when Mikel was honing his football skills? Do u know how much effort and perseverance it takes to be a top flight football player for at least 10yrs.
Who made all the sacrifice and had the discipline to make the money? Who decides how to spend the money?

Really nothing justifies this kidnapping to hit it big just because it involves Mikel Obi.

All those criminals should all be caught and executed

Kidnapping is a scary one.

I have been kidnapped before at gun point and taken to a bush.

I thought it was the end for me. It is upsetting to know that human beings can do this for a living. These kidnappers are mere young lads who are just victims of poverty and drugs.

We need a government that cares about social welfare, free education or Education Loan for all students and Constant Electricity.

Without these, the situation will only get worse, now there are killings everywhere and the government still has no plans to set up special purpose vehicles to stimulate hiring and create more employments.
This govt just dey 2 damn slow to find a workable solution to this menace called kidnapping
