even if Glo are dashing their data for free I won't collect cos I know I won't be able to use it. what is the essence of buying cheap data that poor network will never allow you to use even half of it.the network will be very fast before buying data but the moment u subscribe,u will start having heart attack.

Bodegraven, in the Netherlands, has put strip lights in the floor at a pedestrian crossing — meaning people who stare at their phones all day will see them, preventing them from wandering dangerously into traffic. ( We heard about the news via the BBC .)

Apart from their unusual location, they work just like ordinary traffic lights: Green means go, and red means wait.

HIG Traffic Systems : The lights are built by HIG Traffic Systems, a company based in the town, which hopes to sell them more widely to other towns and cities, The Guardian reports . Right now they're just being used at a single intersection in a trial.

My question is 'what will be the immediate impact of this on jambites?...cos I know a certain university of agriculture in the east that wants to start offering medicine?

The Federal Government has warned specialised universities in the country which have been running programmes that were “antithetical to their mandates ” to stop such with immediate effect .

The government therefore directed that such universities should stick to their core mandates for which they were set up “ and desist from running programmes which have no bearing to their names and foundation. ”

While describing as unfortunate a situation were Universities of Agriculture offer programmes in Law and Management courses such as Accounting , Banking and Finance, Business Administration, among others, the government said it was an aberration for some institutions to change the nomenclature of some of their courses to read, for instance, Banking Engineering , and Accounting Technology .

Consequently , the Minister of Education , Mallam Adamu Adamu , has directed the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board “to delete all such courses on its portal .”

All candidates desirous of sitting for the 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculations Examination, the Minister advised , “ should not be hoodwinked into such programmes as they are illegal and are not provided for in JAMB brochure . ”

A statement issued by the spokesperson of JAMB , obtained by THE PUNCH on Sunday in Abuja, said specialised Universities are those set up to pursue specific courses and programmes to generate manpower in particular sectors of the economy.

He said , “Some of these specialised institutions include Universities such as Universities of Agriculture , Universities of Technologies , Universities of Medicine , amongst others.

“ The Federal government has observed that these institutions have derailed from their statutory responsibilities, thereby running programmes that are antithetical to their mandates . The government notes the unfortunate situation were Universities of Agriculture offer programmes in Law, Management courses such as Accounting , Banking and Finance, Business Administration, among others .

“ As if that was not enough , some institutions change the nomenclature of some of the courses to read for instance Banking Engineering, Accounting Technology , among other names . This is an aberration and should be stopped with immediate effect .”

Is it that Glo doesn't know all this is wrong with the network? They are more interested in being "grandmasters of data"....

This is a very serious question. I've used all the networks both for browsing and calling. Right now, glo seems to be the most economical in terms of price and volume.

But I notice a very disturbing trend with glo, the network vanishes suddenly without reason, and may take minutes to return, only to vanish again.

So I ask, those who may be able to explain this phenomenon( either those who work there, or have background in telecoms).

Why does this happen often to glo sims?

Is this a problem from their setup in the base stations, or from the phones of their subscribers?

Can anything be done to reduce the incidence of this?
