Sanusi should just come clean and clear the air on this mess he created. You don't just extract data from nowhere and make such spurious claims- that NNPC kept back an amount greater than our entire foreign reserve which has taken us years to build...greater than our national budget of which this same oil is the major source of funding...carefully hidden despite all the probes and audits both local and international...Nobody noticed a certain $50billion missing, nobody until Sanusi came to the rescue with his letter... It beggars belief, SANUSI should come clean... |
OPEN LETTER TO IBB, BUHARI, ABDULSALAMI, DANJUMA, OBJ, SANUSI, TAMBUWAL AND OTHERS ATTACKING JONATHAN. from Oluwaseyi Jaiyeoba, Lagos. "We want the critics of Goodluck Jonathan to mention as listed above, to tell us of some of those issues listed by OBJ in 18-page epistle, were right and good about Nigeria before GEJ was voted in. Was it dead NEPA, dead refineries, dilapidated roads, massive looting, fake federalism, drinkable water, food, quality education, funded universities, etc.? Can GEJ destroy what has been destroyed? Do u know how much Saint OBJ spent on road/NEPA and yet nothing? Was GEJ the killer of Ajaokuta, Michellin, Peugeot, Berec, Leventis, NITEL, Daily Times, NTA, Radio Nigeria, the groundnut pyramids, oil palm farms, cocoa farms and others?? Mention one parasternal that hadn’t been destroyed by IBB/OBJ and their cronies before GEJ. Just mention one that was working right before GEJ. We used public phones last in 1989! The south/east road died a long time ago. Leventis and others left during IBB's SAP. Corruption was legalised during IBB's tenure that when Abacha came, he did what they taught him, loot. But even his loot was stolen. - Hope For Nigeria. https://m.facebook.com/hopefornigeria/posts/651094431615349 |
Be ready to face consequences of treason – Presidency warns APC Politics of 2015 is getting thicker............ The Presidency has warned the All Progressives Congress (APC) that it should be ready to face consequences of treason. The was made known in a statement signed by the President Goodluck Jonathan’s Special Adviser, Reuben Abati. The Statement read thus ”We have noted with utter disdain, the reckless and irresponsible call by the APC on Sunday for the National Assembly to commence impeachment proceedings against President Goodluck Jonathan. President Goodluck Jonathan President Goodluck Jonathan Ordinarily, we would not have dignified Alhaji Lai Mohammed’s latest vituperations in the service of his paymasters with a response, but we thought it necessary to warn that the Federal Government will not standby idly and let the nation be plunged into unnecessary crises and political instability because of the desperation and apparent readiness of the APC spokesman and his gang of power-seeking desperadoes to sacrifice the well-being of the country on the altar of their selfish personal ambitions. The Presidency totally condemns the decision by Alhaji Mohammed and his party to move further beyond the bounds of honourable and acceptable political conduct with the senseless call for the impeachment of a President who continues to sincerely devote himself to the discharge of the sacred mandate freely given to him by Nigerians. The APC, which remains a minority party with doubtful credentials in the National Assembly, knows fully well that its attempt to hector and blackmail a Parliament dominated by loyal members of the President’s party, the PDP, into an impeachment process, will come to nothing. But it has cavalierly embarked on this outrageous gambit, with scant regard for peace, order, security and political stability in the country, in furtherance of its dastardly and heinous strategy of over-heating the polity and working to cause public disaffection against the Jonathan Presidency with lies, false accusations and unjustifiable indictments ahead of the 2015 general elections. The emptiness and hollowness of the APC’s call for President Jonathan’s impeachment will be obvious to all objective and discerning Nigerians who read through the statement issued by Alhaji Mohammed today. It was long on self-serving rhetoric and falsehoods, but lacked a single clearly defined charge on the basis of which any plausible impeachment proceedings against the President can be initiated. All that the APC could offer in justification of its absurd and hare-brained impeachment call was a rehash of its well-worn litany of baseless accusations against the President, including some for which culpability should be laid squarely at the doorsteps of its own leaders and some of their new friends. The Presidency also considers it utterly deplorable that the APC has, in its Machiavellian desperation to seize control of the Federal Government, recklessly assailed the integrity and honour of the Nigerian Judiciary in a callous attempt to pre-empt the outcome of the case legitimately brought against it by some of its new friends by the PDP. Alhaji Mohammed’s unscrupulous effort to drag the nation’s judiciary into its murky political warfare and his readiness to intimidate and blackmail members of the bench so as to secure a favourable outcome for his party in the pending case clearly shows that nothing is beyond the pale for him and the APC in pursuit of their quest for power. The Jonathan Administration does not need Lai Mohammed or the APC to remind it of its constitutional responsibility for the security and well-being of Nigerians. The President will continue to do his utmost best to achieve positive national transformation in all areas in spite of efforts by the opposition to thwart or disparage the work of his administration. In this regard, we have noted the undisguised threat by the APC to foster public insurrection against the Federal Government if pending legal cases go against it. We urge Nigerians to take special note of this boastful indication of an intention to resort to lawlessness. The Presidency warns that the APC and any persons who make themselves its willing tools for the breach of public order and safety will be made to face the full sanctions of the law. Those who are threatening fire and brimstone should be ready for consequences of treasonable action. The APC’s false copy-cat allegation that 1, 000 snipers are being trained by the Jonathan Administration clearly shows that they are now in cahoots with some other elements who are bent on discrediting this administration and inciting the public against it. President Jonathan is running a people’s government. He does not need any snipers. His legitimacy comes from the people. Those who are alleging the existence of snipers should step forward and provide the evidence or shut up forever and go down in history as spineless cowards, driven by sheer greed and indecency. We dismiss the APC’s call for the President’s impeachment as opportunistic, partisan and ill-motivated. We call on patriots to make the necessary distinction between such reckless violations of civic duty and the urgent need to protect the integrity of the Nigerian nation against those who for selfish reasons have declared their readiness to stop at nothing.” - See more at: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/12/ready-face-consequences-treason-presidency-warns-apc/?utm_source=&utm_medium=facebook#sthash.5TFYDzqd.dpuf |
Even though I believe that NNPC is not totally upright about crude oil sales, I believe there has to be a political twist to sanusi's letter. It leaves more questions than answers and I believe heads should roll at CBN. 1. If you manage my account and someone systematically defrauds me, and it takes you over 18months to alert me, its either you're totally careless or you're in on it. 2. Seeing the way the 'missing' money was arrived at and the reply from NNPC, shows that CBN has zero idea of how monies from crude oil sales are remitted to the federation account. Multiplying crude oil production by international price is a very unprofessional and almost pedestrian way of determining what should be paid in. If everything produced is paid into the account, does it mean there is no production costs, no overheads, do the oil multinationals drill our oil for free, and take nothing home at the end? The monies paid on by FIRS and DPR were miracle monies? 3. A letter addressed to the president should never leak to the press no matter the reason. There are countless inter-ministerial meetings between CBN and NNPC where this issues could be highlighted and dealt with. As the CBN governor, you can access the president at any convenient time. Correspondence between the CBN governor and the presidency is highly classified. This shows a systematic desire to discredit, and overheat the policy since most nigerians take whatever is written in their favorite newspapers as gospel and make no effort to verify. 4. I wonder how someone will steal an amount bigger than. The national budget and our economy will not fall. It means NNPC decided to keep back over 70% of our daily crude oil sales for over 18months and nobody noticed, nobody said a word until now. I fear for NIGERIA!!! |
Obasanjo’s Open Apology Letter To Nigerians By Segun Dada Fellow Nigerians, This letter of mine is going to contain a lot of apologies. I have sinned against God and against you all. I have transgressed. I apologize. I apologize for pissing down the many opportunities you gave me to be the greatest Nigerian ever. I apologize for a lot of things. I apologize. I apologize because I had some of the rarest opportunities in public service anybody could get anywhere, which in other climes should have been a stepping stone to greater things if I was a man with an iota of humanity or decency. For you my countrymen allowed me a total of eleven years as the head of state and President of Nigeria. I apologize for being a disappointment. I apologize for being a tyrant masquerading as a democrat. I apologize for being self-centred, obnoxious, vindictive and a crude man. I apologize for all the times I sought at all cost to always impose my will on the nation, even where it was detrimental to the laws of morality, decency, common sense and of national interest. I apologize for the killing of Nigerian university students in cold blood and the invasion and razing of the home and business premises of Fela Kuti who was my number one critic as military head of state. I know now that he was never my enemy even though I treated him as my enemy and an enemy of the Nigerian state. I apologize for supporting the annulment of the election of a democratically elected president, Chief MKO Abiola and colluding with my military colleagues and setting up all sorts of anti-democratic political contraptions to negate the mandate of the people in an election widely acclaimed to be free and fair. I apologize to Jesus Christ for claiming to be born again when I came out of jail and to you my countrymen and women for playing on your intelligence that I had seen some light when my soul was still much engulfed in the spirit of darkness. I apologize for asking my soldiers to burn Odi to the ground and kill everyone in sight. I know I am a murderer and a war criminal. I apologize for asking my army to massacre more people in Choba, Igwuruta, Biogbolo and other places in the Niger-Delta. I apologize for being evil, heartless and tyrannical. I apologize to the families of the people my army massacred. I apologize to the orphans whose parents my army killed, to the widows whose husbands were killed. I apologize for everything. I apologize. I apologize for sowing the seeds that led to the Niger-Delta crisis. That transformed a non-violent struggle for justice, equity and fairness in the Niger-Delta into a full-blown war. I take responsibility for causing the crisis in the Niger-Delta today that has made heroes out of oil thieves and cultists like Asari Dokubo and other militants that the Nigerian government has to pay billions of naira to every month to keep from going back to the creeks. I apologize for sending my soldiers to kill and burn down the communities of Zaki Biam, Vaase, Agbayin, Gbeji, Sankara and several others towns…. I apologize to the families of the people my army massacred. I apologize to the orphans whose parents my army killed, to the widows whose husbands were killed. I apologize for everything. I apologize. I weep and apologize. I apologize for the murder of my attorney-general and minister of justice, Chief Bola Ige. I apologize for rewarding the man suspected of his assassination with political power. I apologize for my failure to nab, prosecute and jail the perpetrators of his assassination. I apologize for being insensitive and sadistic. I apologize for the many backdoor deals I oversaw as president. I apologize for spending $2.2 billion on power without due process or any favourable end result. I apologize for the part I played in the Transcorp shares saga, the Obasanjo Library Fund, the COJA contracts, the PTDF scandal, the Siemens bribe scandal, the oil contracts and oil wells allocation which I singlehandedly allocated to myself, my women(oh, and I have a lot of them) and my cronies. I apologize for running the petroleum ministry during my tenure as my private estate. For shrouding my activities in the petroleum industry in utmost secrecy, for never rendering proper accounts of the oil revenue to relevant agencies, the Federal Executive Council or the National Assembly I apologize for using the EFCC as my personal bulldog to intimidate and bend the will of my political opponents and those who went against my will. I apologize to Nuhu Ribadu for using him for my own selfish interest. I apologize for victimizing those who criticized me or who attempted to criticize me. I apologize to Audu Ogbeh for forcing him at gunpoint to sign his resignation, to Eedris Abdulkareem for victimizing him and forcing his promoters to do away with him because of the ‘’jaga jaga’’ song that depicted the true picture of Nigeria under me at that time. Look, Nigeria was indeed “Jaga Jaga” and is still “jaga jaga”. I apologize to Rotimi Amaechi for striking his (Amaechi’s) name off the list of PDP’s governorship candidate list for the election just because I could. I apologize for withholding Federal allocation to Lagos under Bola Tinubu for three and a half years–an act of tyranny and dictatorship that I have come to realize. I apologize to the people of Anambra state for turning a blind eye as the then sitting Governor, Chris Ngige, was kidnapped and forced to a shrine to swear an oath in broad daylight by one of my apologists Chris Uba who I made sure was above the law. I apologize for withdrawing his security just so to spite him and all the people of Anambra and show validation to the actions of Chris and Andy Uba. I apologize for attempting to alter the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria just for the single selfish purpose of getting a third term. I apologize to you my fellow Nigerians for using your tax money to bribe lawmakers in an attempt to make my selfish interest come to fulfilment. I apologize for heating up the polity, I apologize profusely for being a self-righteous, self-centred crook and a vindictive so and so. I apologize to everyone I victimized when the will of you the Nigerian people prevailed over my third term attempt. I apologize for imposing on you a sick president. I apologize because I knew he was sick and didn’t have very much to live for, but I still made him President to spite you all. I wanted to punish the Nigerian people for not letting me have my third term so I imposed him on you, went back to my farm and watched in amusement. I look back at it all now and I admit that I am a terrible man. I apologize for the evils my actions have caused you. I apologize for my actions. I apologize even more for making an unexposed tribal bigot his Vice President. I appeal to you the Nigerian people today, flee from me and every of my many descendants. If Jonathan wants to contest in 2015, by all means he should. But I appeal to you the Nigerian to vote him out. For he has dwarfed everything I and the grandfather of corruption in Nigeria and my good friend General Babangida ever thought of stealing. Under him, the impunity under me is a child’s play. Under him, the Presidency has turned into a laughing stock and the presidential jet has turn into a taxi for tribal warriors and ethnic jingoists who look for an opportunity to beat the drums of war. Ask Asari Dokubo. And in conclusion, I apologize to my son Gbenga for sleeping with his wife and for embarrassing the office of the president of the federal republic of Nigeria and myself and my family. I am very, very sorry fellow Nigerians. Forgive me, for I have erred. Forgive me because without your forgiveness, I will forever be miserable. Without your forgiveness, I will never have peace. NB: Let me crave your indulgence to share this with your neighbours, friends and fellow countrymen who can’t have first hand access to this letter. Let my story be a lesson for whoever wants to lead this country in the future. I am a mess and I messed up. That classroom board is too old fashioned for a school like uniben. I don't think U can still see such in uniport. .. Back to the topic, I thought ASUU is a voluntary organization, if someone decides to lecture, it's his choice.. After all Fagge said 'ASUU did not close down the university, the school management did'. The management has reopened the schools and ASUU is now disrupting activities, giving the police an excuse to get violent with them... |
GEJ has great plans for this country. It's sad that some people don't want to give him any support whatsoever. |
http://m.naij.com/news/53676.html President Goodluck Jonathan applauded the decision of one of the leading Japanese automobile manufacturers, Nissan, to build a Manufacturing plant in Nigeria. In his post on the official Facebook page the President was optimistic about the future of such an ambitious project: Not too long ago, we announced a new National Automobile Policy. I am happy to note that the policy is now attracting great interest in our country with the consequential benefit for job creation and savings for our nation. The announcement by the Nissan Corporation that it will be investing in our country by way of manufacturing its brand of cars in Nigeria is very heart warming. With the confirmation that Nigeria ranks fourth in the world as the fastest Return on Investment (RoI), I hereby call on other world class automobile manufacturers and other businesses to also begin their journey to establish factories in Nigeria as we have a well trained and hardworking work force, at home and abroad, ready to add value to the growth of businesses and our country. GEJ If the project develops, Nissan will become the first global carmaker to build cars in Nigeria since west Africa's largest economy rolled out a policy to tempt investors into its nascent automotive industry. The first vehicle to be introduced was expected to be the Nissan Patrol SUV next year. The plant would also be opened to French auto group Renault, though the companies did not give any details. Japan's Nissan is aiming to double annual sales in Africa by 2016 from 110,000 units last year. It already plans to launch the Datsun brand in South Africa before the end of next year. It would be recalled that the Federal Government battles cars' importation, by drastically increasing customs fees and duties on imported vehicles starting from January 2014. Nevertheless, development of local automobile industry is encouraged. |

Read a comprehensive address of the issue by the ASUU president here http://m.naij.com/news/53515.html After the meeting, Govt issued a letter to ASUU saying that they will give ASUU 200b this year, nd. 220b for the next 4-5yrs...ASUU took this letter to their respective branches, they read it, deliberated on it and voted for or against calling off the strike. After the meeting at the branches, ASUU wrote back to the Govt, demanding that the 200b for this year be raised and deposited in the CBN within 2weeks, and that next year they will renegotiate the 2009 agreement afresh. They also included a non-victimization clause which ASUU has dubiously interpreted to mean payment of salaries for months not worked for, and all these to be put in an MOU to be signed by the Attorney-General. As expected, FG saw this as inclusion of points not originally agreed upon. Plus, the FG letter demanded that ASUU call off the strike within 7days, but it took them over two weeks to do that. ASUU is now saying that the FG letter didn't capture everything, and that they just inserted it back as it wasn't a fresh demand. My question is, what was the exact response of FG after that 13hours. Meeting that ASUU took back to their members, did it include salaries, or a re-negotiation in 2014? |
www.channelstv.com/home/2013/12/03/ASUU-strike-fresh-demands-do-not-make-sense-okupe/ Senior Special Assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan on Public Affairs, Dr Doyin Okupe, has stated that there is no reason for the ongoing industrial action by Nigerian university lecturers to continue. He was guest on Channels Television flagship breakfast programme, ‘Sunrise Daily’ to discuss the issues. Okupe said that from the Government’s perspective, everything that needs to be done has been done and whether the strike would be called off or not now lies in the hands of the leadership of ASUU. He said that most of the demands of the Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities, ASUU, have been agreed upon at the 13-hour meeting they had with the President in October. “At the end of that meeting, the Government proposed that everything that has been agreed should be put in a memorandum of agreement and that the two parties should sign, but the leadership of ASUU declined and said instead of that, they would rather have a letter of comfort expressing everything that has been resolved therein, and that will suffice for them.” According to him, the Government agreed to their request and issued the said letter based on the agreement that the strike would be called off within 7 days. However, this did not happen “in spite of the fact that the ASUU leadership presented the letter of comfort to its chapters nationwide and a clear majority of them endorsed the resolutions reached and actually were more inclined towards calling off the strike.” Dr Okupe stressed that the attitude of the ASUU leadership showed that the seed of discord and evidence of bad faith already existed. “It is unfortunate that somebody died but notwithstanding, that cannot be a justification for delaying the implementation of an agreement for 21 or more days. Reading from the ‘Letter of Comfort’ issued by the Federal Government in agreement with the leadership of ASUU, the government agreed that Nigerian universities must be revitalized for effective service delivery, all the provisions in the agreement and MoU for the revitalization shall be fully implemented as captured in the 2012 Needs Assessment and the Federal Government shall mobilize resource towards this goal. “Based on this, it was also agreed that a sum of N1.3 trillion shall be made available to ASUU over the next 6 years starting from December 2013 with (the sum of) N200 billion. The FGN therefore request that the ASUU shall within 7 days call off its 4 month strike.” Contrary to the Federal Government’s expectation that ASUU would call off the strike, ASUU in another document said that they “could not call off the strike because of certain uncertainties or gaps that are evident in the government’s report.” Okupe asked fiercely, “what are these uncertainties? He accused ASUU of turning around to again state four new conditions for the strike to be called off. They demanded that the agreed N200 billion should be deposited in an account at the Central Bank within 2 weeks, while the negotiation of the 2009 agreement should be included in the final document. The ASUU, according to Okupe also demanded that a non-victimization clause should be included as well as a new MoU signed by the Attorney- General. Dismissing their requests, he said a demand for a memorandum is a waste of people’s time because this is ideally what should follow any agreement made between two parties in the first place, and that by International Labour Laws which Nigeria is guided by, no one is expected to be victimized for going on strike. He also said that ASUU, asking that the MoU with Federal Government should be signed by the Attorney-General “does not make sense” because anyone of high standing in Government can sign for it. He added that an account has already been opened for the N200 billion they are requesting for in the Central Bank. Okupe added that the government has shown commitment by meeting with the leadership of ASUU, and agreeing to its demands, considering that previous governments did not give them such an opportunity to sit down and discuss. He called on ASUU to do the right thing for the benefit of the nation. “The Government cannot be seen to be contesting with any sector of the economy or the country. This President is interested in moving Nigeria forward through a very well-articulated transformation agenda.” |

I think Oshiomole came to that venue with the sole aim of causing confusion. If he had been granted audience before, why should he come to the venue again just to ridicule the persons attending. The meeting is to work out modalities for the National Conference, if you do not share the vision, register your displeasure by remaining in Government House! |

A member of the Presidential Advisory Committee on National Conference Col.Tony Nyiam (rtd), who engaged in a shouting match with Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole at Monday’s sitting of the committee in Benin, which led to his resignation from the committee, gave reasons for his action yesterday. His explanation notwithstanding, Edo Reps caucus in the House of Representatives were joined by traditional rulers and youths from the state to declare Col Nyiam persona non grata in Edo State. The All Progressives Congress, APC, on its part said the disruption of Oshiomhole’s presentation before the committee has vindicated the party’s decision not to be part of the proposed conference. At the committee’s sitting last Monday, Col Nyiam was said to have joined some people who heckled Governor Oshiomhole while he was making his presentation which eventually prevented the governor from continuing with his speech. In his defence yesterday, Nyiam alleged that Governor Adams Oshiomhole made “sarcastic remarks” against the proposed National Dialogue, asserting that governors who are in the habit of kicking against the laudable efforts of President Goodluck Jonathan should wait for the response of Nigerians. Nyiam who was asked if he has resigned, said: ‘’The situation is that I have not told anybody in the public that I have resigned”. Reacting to his altercation with Governor Oshiomhole, he explained that the governor was “talking down on people and he is not supposed to do that because our job is to meet with the people and not the governor since we have paid him a courtesy visit earlier”. His words: “Governors who have a penchant for insulting the President or making sarcastic remarks against the sense of judgment of the President of Nigeria should be ready to tolerate response from Nigerian citizens to tell them no. The committee’s role is advisory, we need to consult with the people to advise us and we will then synthesize the peoples’ opinion and use that to advise the President because we believe that we need to work towards a peoples-driven constitution which we never had in our history. “We thought we should start a bottoms-up approach from the grassroots to the top. The attitude was that there should be no talking down on the people we are supposed to engage. Based on this principle, the key feature of our consultation was to meet with the people but out of courtesy we pay courtesy calls on the governors or the royal father in the city. We have followed this procedure starting from Akure where Governor Mimiko gave us audience in his office. “Governor Mimiko came to the venue and kept quiet throughout. We left Akure and went to Jos, we went through the same procedure where the Middle Belt people, the Hausa/ Fulani, Yoruba community and all the major tribes of Plateau, all aired their views including Tivs, Idomas, Igala and others. In all these meetings all of them wanted a conference which is ethnic nationalities-led. What Oshiomhole told us — Nyiam “We left Jos and went to Minna, we went through the same experience with Governor Babangida Aliyu and most people there too spoke in terms of ethno nationalities representations. We went to Calabar, we went through the same experience. So we came to Benin, where Governor Oshiomhole shifted the timing and that changed the time we were supposed to meet the Oba of Benin. We saw the governor for at least 40 minutes and he started giving us tutorials as if we are children; he told us that he was a product of Kaduna, that he had his children in Kaduna. “He went on to now attack the idea of ethno-nation. He argued that we are going to celebrate 100 years next year so what are we going to talk about? I countered that. He argued that we don’t need a conference, but with all the troubles we had, for a leader to say we don’t need a conference is very sad. It is an insult on the intelligence of Nigerians. In Kenya recently after the elections, there were lots of killings that led to a constitutional conference which turned Kenya from a unitary system to a true federalism. “With that background, he now came to the venue after the Benin Development Forum spoke. He came late and after listening, he asked for an intervention, he took the micro phone and then decided to repeat the lecture, treating people like students and castigating the Federal Government. More offensive for me was that he was talking down on the elders there, that the idea of them coming together there was a waste of time. “These two things, one talking down on people is contrary to the philosophy of our people. We had former governors there, elders, traditional rulers. Secondly when we are in an interactive session with the people, it is not for a governor to come and take over the stage, grandstanding. This is a governor that spoke over 40 minutes when we were with him. This idea of governors trying to run down the President, a governor abusing the office of the President to make insinuations against the office of the president, to criticise people’s ability for self expression, is unacceptable. “So when people started booing the governor, I went to the chairman to remind him about the rules of our committee. The chairman said we should give him a chance to continue. He carried on with his derogatory remarks and it was at that point I then said no, not again. When I said that, by this time, his aides tried to come at me, but when I suspected that one was at my back I stood up, then sat down. “Not long, after a group of people came towards the table, it was then that the DSS people advised that my life was not safe and I was taken away for safety. The Director of the Department of State Service, DSS, mounted security around us; the Commissioner of Police came to see me and they brought security. The Police drove us all out of Edo State because of fears of attack. So contrary to what they said that I mobilized thugs, it is not true, it was Edo people that protected me,” he narrated. The Rivers State Chapter of the PDP has welcomed the directive by Governor Chibuike Amaechi to his Commissioners and Council Chairmen to register with the All Progressive Congress, APC. The Party in a statement by the Media Aide to its Chairman, Jerry Needam, said the decision was long overdue and will now draw the battle line between those who are on ground and the pretenders ahead of the 2015 elections. The State PDP while wishing Governor Amaechi well as he joins the APC however assured Rivers people of a secure future and brighter prospect in the ruling PDP led by President Goodluck Jonathan. Meanwhile, the spokesman of the Godspower Ake-led PDP in the state George Ukwuoma Nwogba described as untrue and baseless the report that Governor Chibuike Amaechi has defected to the APC, stressing that the Governor and his loyalists are still intact in PDP. In a related development, the Rivers State Chapter of the PDP has condemned the flyers being circulated to a section of the media alleging negligence as the course of the death of the mother of the First Lady Charity Oba. PDP in a statement, Jerry Needam accused the Amaechi Administration of orchestrating the grand ploy to castigate President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife Patience ahead of the epoch making burial this weekend. The Party regrets that Governor Amaechi’s Administration could descend so low as to control and politicise the death of an innocent elderly mother of the wife of the President who was involved in a ghastly motor accident just to get at his political opponents and perceived enemies. legisreportsng.com/politics-pdp-hails-alleged-defection-of-gov-amaechi-and-loyalists-to-apc |

The seven governors of the Peoples Democratic Party on Monday opened up on the cause of their dispute with President Goodluck Jonathan and the leadership of the PDP. They said the President had refused to act on the issues they raised during their meetings with him and some leaders of the party on how to restore the crisis rocking the party. They added that the President had refused to act on issues discussed with the Chief Olusegun Obasanjo-led Elders Committee and the reports presented to him. Rather than act, they said President Jonathan and his supporters bluntly turned down the report. The governors stated this in the communique issued after the meeting, which they held in Abuja on Sunday night. The communique was signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the New PDP, Chief Chukwuemeka Eze. The governors are Aliyu Wamakko (Sokoto); Sule Lamido (Jigawa); Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers); Aliyu Babangida (Niger); Abdulfatai Ahmed (Kwara); Murtala Nyako (Adamawa) and Rabiu Kwankwanso (Kano). Apart from the governors, others in their group are former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and some former governors – Bukola Saraki (Kwara), Shaba Lafiagi (Kwara), Danjuma Goje (Gombe) and Abdulahi Adamu (Nasarawa). Others include a former Acting National Secretary of the party, who is now leading the New PDP, Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje; Deputy Chairman Sam Sam Jaja; a former National Secretary of the party, who is occupying the same position in the faction, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola; and Vice-Chairman, North-West of the PDP, Ibrahim Kazuare. Eze said the Sunday meeting reviewed all the peace meetings so far held with President Jonathan and the Dr. Bamanga Tukur- led PDP and commended the aggrieved governors for the maturity they have exhibited since the beginning of the crisis. He said, “Some of the demands presented by our governors include the need to reverse the impunity in Rivers State, where a sitting governor was suspended from the party against the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the PDP Constitution, and refusing to uphold the result of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum election that saw Amaechi winning 19 votes as Jonah Jang’s 16. “Others include our request for the removal of Tukur as our party National Chairman knowing his flawed election as our party Chairman, and ending the impunity in Adamawa State, among other demands that will put PDP in a strong position as a political party but for reasons not too clear to some of us failed to receive the blessing of Mr. President. “To us, we see all these as attempts by the Tukur’s faction to destroy the party seeing that they (those in Tukur’s group) have no stake in the party anymore.” The meeting mandated its mobilisation/contact committee to explore other options available to the members of the faction should the dialogue with President Jonathan fails to yield any positive result for its future political activity. Eze added that the committee was expected also to liaise with the new five other PDP governors and other leaders, who he said had indicated interest to join the group and to submit their report during the next meeting of the caucus that will hold in a week’s time. On the deployment of Police to the vicinity of the Sokoto Governor’s Lodge, Abuja to scuttle the caucus meeting on Sunday evening, Eze said it was unfortunate that the police who were unable to find a solution to the menace of Boko Haram, kidnapping and other security challenges of the country could be cheaply used to harass innocent and unarmed civilians. While reacting to the allegation against him, Tukur said he did not set up any parallel state executive in any state, adding that the party appointed caretaker committees in states where the tenure of their substantive officers had expired. Tukur, who spoke through his Media Adviser, Oliver Okpala, said the aggrieved governors were not aware that the executives that were removed in the affected states wrote to the national headquarters of the party to inform it that their tenure had expired. http://www.punchng.com/news/our-grouse-with-jonathan-rebel-govs/ |
Both videos have their high points..the Moe Musa video was sharper, and had a definite story line. But we didn't get to see the skelewu dance moves, disappointing! Sesan's video had a more nigerian concept, from the guys on suits, to the beach scene, and the guy at the end eating rice and bobbing his head to the side. It shows the actual skelewu dance moves which was good. If I have to choose, I'll go with sesan's video. |
There is something I've noticed in Rivers State which I find really troubling...it's Ђσω Amaechi has left all †ђξ traffic lights put in place by Odili to rot. Those lights really gave us the feel of being in a city, aπϑ I'll like to see them back up again |
