Small business run under very few or no staff apart from the owner, but that’s the opposite when you are talking about big companies, take for instance a company like GLOBACOM with more 2,500 employees as at 2009. The total sum of to be remitted for employees salary on monthly basis when the company is experiencing a drop in ROI due to the country’s economic situation.
Small business owners hardly employ the services of professionals like an auditor, Account manager, servicing agency and an attorney e.t.c. but any big company that doesn’t operate with at least two out of the mentioned professional bodies tends to run into some irreplaceable risks sooner or later.
Small business operate with 95 percent of goods, materials and services availably within the country, mean while, hardly can you find big companies that don’t depend on imported resources to operate. Which can course limited production of products for customers usage or consumption due to delay of incoming imported resources in some cases. Reducing monthly profit after sales.
If Big companies are to abide by the rule of tax payment which we know 99.9% if not 100% small business owner don't pay, then provision for tax payment can become a stumble factor for the big guys to survive during this recession period.


As we look forward to eradicating this canker-worm called recession, we pray we don't loose more big companies whose contribution to the economy has been tremendously helpful.

Brianna Mariah Lopez a.k.a “Baby Brianna” (February 14, 2002 – July 19, 2002) Brianna Lopez who is also known to many as “Baby Brianna”, was a baby girl who was born in a New Mexico hospital on Valentines Day, 2002 to her mother, Stephanie Lopez and her father, Andy Walters. She would have turned eleven years old on February 14, 2013 but sadly, she never made it.
When Baby Brianna left the hospital after her birth she moved into a home in Las Cruces, N.M. shared by her parents and Uncle, Steven Lopez.
The abuse started almost immediately. Instead of hugs and kisses Brianna received slaps and pinches. She was tormented on a daily basis, both verbally and physically. Slapped, kicked, punched, pinched, thrown, raped, etc. You name it this infant endured it.
When Brianna would cry at the pain that was inflicted on her, her abusers would laugh and stuff her mouth with clothing to muffle her screams. Her own mother would bite and pinch her when she got frustrated by the crying, but for the most part it was the infant’s father and uncle who tormented her while Stephanie sat back and ignored her daughter’s cries.
Medical examiners would later report the marks as being both old and new which proved prolong abuse. Brianna also had bleeding on her brain, both old and new, as well as broken ribs, broken legs, broken arms, lacerations to her fingers, vagina and anus. She had been abused everyday of her short life.
Baby Brianna was what many would consider a strong baby because she managed to survive 153 days despite coming into this cruel world weighing only several pounds.
On the evening of July 18th, 2002 Andy went out to purchase beer and when he came home they all proceeded to get drunk. Stephanie claimed to have had only a few beers before heading to bed in the same room the others were in. During this time both Andy and Steven decided to play their own sick, demented game where they would toss Brianna up in the air, let her hit the ceiling and watch her tumble to the ground. They would later tell authorities that Brianna was screaming and wailing when this was happening. Apparently the baby’s mother didn’t hear her daughter screaming and crying in agony.

One of China’s first unmanned factories in the city of Dongguan recently replaced 590 of its workers with robots and the results were astounding. While the factory used to be run by 650 employees, only 60 of those people still work at the factory and their primary job is to make sure the machines are running properly, not working on manufacturing.

The Changying Precision Technology Company focuses on the production of mobile phones and uses automated production lines. The robotic arms produce certain parts of the mobile phones at each station and the factory even makes use of autonomous transport trucks.

Though 60 is a shocking amount of people to be running and monitoring a whole factory, the trial for the robots is going so well that the general manager, Luo Weiqiang, said that the number of human employees may even drop to 20 someday.

Since the shift to robots, pieces per person per month has risen from 8,000 to 21,000—a whopping 250% increase. While some may argue that quality of the product will decrease with the use of robots, this doesn’t appear to be the case either. The number of product defects has decreased from 25% to just 5%.

This company isn’t the only one to make the change from humans to robots, especially not in China where the Made In China 2025 initiative aims to apply technological advances to production, which includes using robotics.
It’s unclear what this shift means for factory workers in the nation, but it’s not looking positive for those demanding fair working conditions and wages. The change to robotics comes at a time when the climate around factory workers is becoming volatile, even inciting strikes in several different areas. While quality and production are great for those purchasing the products, humans need jobs and they deserve to work in a humane environment. As more robots take the place of human factory workers, one can only hope that those workers turn to a more stable job where they can’t be replaced and they aren’t mistreated.

A new image released by the U.S. Attorney’s Office on Monday shows $20 million in cash that authorities found stashed in a box spring in an apartment.

The money is believed to be linked to a $1 billion pyramid scheme involving a company known as TelexFree, the company claimed to provide Internet phone services.

Authorities alleged that it was a pyramid scheme that operated from January 2012 to March 2014.

"TelexFree purported to aggressively market its VOIP [voice over internet protocol] service by recruiting thousands of 'promoters' to post ads for the product on the Internet," the Department of Justice said in a statement on its website.

The promoters were required to buy into the company at a price, after which they were to be compensated by TelexFree, "under a complex compensation structure, on a weekly basis so long as they posted ads for TelexFree's VOIP service on the Internet," according to the DOJ.

The money was discovered earlier this month when police raided the apartment of one Cleber Rene Rizerio Rocha, 28. He was arrested and charged with one count of conspiring to commit money laundering.

TelexFree reported sales of $1.02 billion in 2013, but roughly all that revenue came from people who bought into the company's scheme, authorities said.

Nakia, a petite 14-year-old with long hair and a sweet smile, killed herself overnight Sunday while live-streaming the event.
The Police Department has confirmed that they are investigating the suicide death of “a child … in the care of a foster family.”
“We are absolutely horrified and devastated by the news of this young girl's death,” said DCF (Department of Children & Family) Secretary Mike Carroll. “We will do everything we can to support this family and all those who cared for her as they begin to heal from this tragedy. We will conduct a comprehensive, multidisciplinary special review to examine this child’s history and the circumstances related to serving the child.”
DCF released a three-sentence incident report on Nakia’s death. It said the teen attached her scarf to a “shower-glass door frame” to end her life at around 3:03 a.m. and was declared dead “at a local hospital.”

The Nigerian reality TV show introduced in 2006 formerly known as BIG BROTHER NIGERIA and was later re-launched as BIG BROTHER NAIJA on Sunday 22 January, 2017 after its first edition held 10 years ago.
A TV show which is supposed to be for the viewing interest of Nigerians and was coined to suit our viewing pleasure by showcasing the characters, strengths, humours and angers of a typical Nigerian born.

The disturbing fact about this show is that aside the host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu and the contestants, every other thing comes from South-Africa with Johannesburg as its filming location.

Now our questions are;
1. Why is it called BIG BROTHER NAIJA when it is holding outside Nigeria?
2. Can the American Idol be held in Mexico?
3. Will Nigeria be hosting BIG BROTHER SOUTH AFRICA too?
Lol! funny right? Yeah, that’s the Naija spirit. Now back to business.

The organizers of the reality TV series cited issues of poor electricity, an already existing established house in South Africa and cost of running the show here in Nigeria, and then our reply is;
1. How can a show capable of awarding 25 million naira and a brand new car to the winner not be able to afford the amount of diesel to run for just 3 months?
2. Does it mean they cannot afford an apartment for the hosting of such a show? For crying out loud, this show is meant for Nigerians and should he held in Nigeria no matter what.
3. The organizers didn’t consider the high cost of securing a visa and boarding an airplane for 12 contestants including the crew members from Nigeria, but have to consider the cost of running the show in their own country.

Reasons why the Federal Government should sanction the show organizers are;
1. The show is supposed to be for the viewing interest of Nigerians before any other country’s interest. But that is not what it is, South Africans were considered first before Nigerians, maybe because they might gain more viewers from South Africa than Nigeria or maybe their top investors are South African based individuals.
2. The Nigeria economy needs any help it can get for revenue generation from companies or individuals who can carry out projects that provide jobs and boost the economy. Rather, they choose to better the South African economy which is far better than the Nigeria economy currently.
3. Choosing South Africa over Nigeria for a show meant for Nigerians is obviously creating the wrong impression to Africans and the world that we cannot handle even the smallest challenge we might encounter.
4. Filming this show in South Africa will limit or prevent NBC’s right to monitor the programme so as not to go against the country’s broadcasting laws.
5. Choosing South Africa over Nigeria is sending the wrong message to potential investors who already have intending plans of setting up such events in the future here in Nigeria.

The fact remains that; this show can never be for Nigerians if it’s not in Nigeria.

n Tuesday, WhatsApp for iOS rolled out an update which allows you to queue up messages offline to be sent automatically when you regain connection,
It's a handy feature that has already been available for Android users for more than a year.
Previously on iOS, the send button was disabled if you didn't have a strong enough connection — meaning if you were mid-sending a WhatsApp message and you suddenly lost connection the message would stay stuck in the text box.
So when you're on the tube, or flying to a meeting, you can now actually type out messages and hit send, rather than having to go back into each chat box and send it when you're back online.
And you won't have to wait for a connection to type out more than one message, which was the case previously when the first message you composed would sit idle in your text box.
The ability to queue up WhatsApp messages while offline has been available on Android since at least June of last year, according to a forum on AskDifferent.
The update also includes the ability to send up to 30 photos or videos at once, up from 10 previously, and an update to the storage usage screen. The new storage screen allows you to clear certain message types, like videos or images, from specific chats to free up space.

The Nigerian Government has ordered the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) to carryout proper investigation surrounding the filming of the ongoing Big Brother Nigeria reality show in South Africa.

According to a statement made by the minister of information and culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed on Tuesday, January 24, 2016, ordering the NBC to determine whether Multi-Choice had breached Nigerian Broadcasting Code in any way by having the show in South Africa.
The NBC is also to investigate the issue of "possible deceit" since the viewing public was never told that the event would be staged outside Nigeria.

''As a country of laws, only the outcome of the investigation will determine our next line of action,'' the minister said.
Alhaji Mohammed said while concerned Nigerians have bombarded his office with calls to complain about what they regard as an anomaly (of shooting outside the country a show meant for Nigerians), they should remain calm while the NBC investigates the issue and submits its findings.

A Pennsylvania man has found himself behind bars after cops say he started to choke his wife after waking up from a dream in which she had cheated on him.
Police in Archbald say Conrad Rudalavage had been drinking before bed over the weekend when he woke up Saturday convinced he'd been wronged by the woman.

The 49-year-old allegedly attacked and threatened to kill his wife until his 16-year-old daughter intervened. Rudalavage allegedly attacked the teen after she tried to call 911.

Rudalavage's wife was treated for bruises and injuries to her face, head and neck.
Rudalavage remained in the Lackawanna County jail Thursday.

Real Madrid might be European and World Champions but Manchester United have knocked them off their perch atop the Deloitte Money League for the first time in more than a decade.

Jose Mourinho’s side, benefiting from a return to the Champions League, posted a world record revenue of £515.3 million over the course of the 2015-16.

That was enough to knock Real Madrid off the top spot after 11 years at the summit. The Spaniards slipped to third, despite returning their own record of £463.8m , an increase of almost £45m. Barcelona move into second.

Figures were up at Old Trafford across the board, with improved revenues showing in the matchday, broadcast and commercial sectors.

Dan Jones, partner in the Sports Business Group at Deloitte, said:

‘In recent years, (United’s) ability to secure commercial partnerships with value in excess of that achievable by their peers has been the crucial factor in enabling the club to regain their place at the top of the Money League.

‘They’ll face strong competition from FC Barcelona and Real Madrid to retain the top spot in next year’s edition, due to the lack of Champions League football, the weakening of the Pound against the Euro and, over the longer term, as other clubs enter the commercial market demanding similar deals, using United as the precedent.’

Over the course of the Money League’s 20-year existence, United are the only side other than Real to have held top spot, and the huge wealth of English clubs was evident again in 2015-16, as eight teams made the top 20.

Manchester City moved into the top five for the first time, their revenues up £40m to just under £400m, while Leicester made their debut appearance in the list.

Ciara and now-husband Russell Wilson remained abstinent before their wedding but after they tied the knot they wasted no time.
The pair married in July 2016 and announced they were expecting their first child together in October.
Ciara said in a new interview with Cosmopolitan South Africa that they chose abstinence because, "You shouldn't feel like you have to give your body away to get someone to like you."
She added, "It's important to have a friendship. It's important to have standards."
The singer said she and Russell sat down when they first started dating to have a "conversation" about the "intimacy part" of relationships.
"I have to give credit to my husband for sharing those views," she told the mag. "It's awesome how it all worked out.
Ciara has a son with ex-fiance Future.
